I spent 6 months in Kosovo in 2001 with the 10th Mountain Div. We were there for a peace keeping mission. Very nice people in an unfortunate situation. That whole area Kosovo, Macedonia, Bulgaria, ect impoverished.

The Ashkalis and Egyptian ethnic groups are news to me. The so called Ashkali on the video is speaking Albanian; they seem not to have their own language. Language must be taken as the bases for recognition and classification of minorities. The west is trying to come with as many minorities as possible in Kosovo and interpret petty, criminal quarrels as political/ethnic.

But to come back to Kosovo, yes Roma are a distinct group because they speak their unique language apart from Albanian or Serb. Language is one of the basis of the identity.Yes they can be classified a minority, and given that they have been abused if not persecuted by white Europeans they should be protected

Roma are next, but not in an ethnic context but racial one. Roma (whatever their size) because of their darker skin traditionally have been seen by both the Albanians and Serbs as inferior. Something I condemn. The Roma history in a way resembles that of the Jews. Roma like the Jews are scattered across South West and Eastern Europe. From Portugal to Malta and from Greece to Czech Republic.

10.000 Albanian refugees and 1000 non-Albanian refugees have been reported until the bombing began. Those ppl fled to escape from crossfire of VJ, MUP and UCK. When NATO began bombing hospitals, nurseries, civilian trains, buses and residental areas, all people started to flee for their lives.

And you live in Kosovo for maybe 900-1000 years, not more.

Unfortunately for the propaganda efforts of the powers that back Kosovo independence, there is not a single non-Albanian ethnic group in the province which has not experienced frequent terrorism and oppression at the hands of the imperialist pawns, the Albanians. So, in the end, the genocide lawsuit entered by Serbs against the so-called "international community" will most certainly be filed in tandem with Gorani, Roma, Circassians, and others, including moderate Albanians, IDPs since 1999.
