  • we're americans ,we kick the french asses, they're assholes mother fuckers

  • this man is well spoken and travels to bring back to europe friends back to the table , where bush just pushed them away and only had england to go to war with. give this man time you cant fix a broken arm that was broken for 8years without rehab first and proper surgery . he will get it done . look at jimmy carter they called him the unless president in history but he got more great bills passed then any other president from johnson to both bushes and bill clinton

  • no traduction in France ?

were there screens to translate ?

  • more defense spending

  • Idiot idiot idiot...communism, marxism, facism...what will you do when they take your cell phone away with all your rights?

  • @TheFruffy George Bush suspended habius corpus, legalized government surveillance of US citizens, legalized torture, legalized extraordinary rendition, and many more offenses to freedom. Yet you're worried that Obama will take away your rights?

  • ObamaObamaObamaObama

  • Strasbourg over here

  • mr alex jones has information but they do not equate with the real motives of the President. I watched the entire movie and it is sad people do not see the change that is around them - the evolution the human experience that must take effect for humanity to move forward. just think about this, more then 3.7 billion human beings never see a phone or know what one does. we are still on the far edges of the dark ages. get over the crazy people and get with the moving forward of the human evolution

  • I am so proud to have Obama as our president.

  • If you see peaceful negotiations with other countries

and talking with other countries in Europe as "ridiculous".. or uneccesary..

if you think that you do not deserve to be a united states citizen...

New leadership is being reformed into american politics, and people who dont like the change should not, I repeat not, see themselves as citizens of USA. At least they will be seen as such, and not listened to.

this is my hope. And I think this will be so as majority of americans seems to wake

  • up and understand the siginificanse of negotiating with other countries

    instead of waging war.

  • Well.... France has always been pretty socialist from an american point of view.

  • French are pretty socialists even from a european point of view. They have a strongly centralized government while most Europe tends to federalism.

  • in 5 years usa will be more socialist than france. just watch.

  • @rudeawakeningxxx wake up .and smell the coffee . you are so dead wrong do you even know what socialist is ? if you people keep sleeping like you did on the bushes both of them you will find yourself owned by china and teaching chiness to your kids so you might find yourself commuist first /// bush got you in this mess a guy that stole lied and ran the country to the ground you are lucky that you didnt get sold for more oil ...

  • you probably don't read your own comments, because if you did, you would see how RIDICULOUS you sound, like a runaway monkey

  • I love that Obama doesn't try to act like he runs the world. He treats the other countries with the respect they deserve.

Some people think these foriegn trips were pointless and got little done, but improving our relationship with other countries, IMO, is of the utmost importance. I feel much safer with him as pres than with bush.

  • I rally like Obama, he is working hard to move forward.

  • obama would look funny with a mustache

  • he would look like eric holder

  • Obama is so much better then Bush, oh my god i can't believe just how much he is better

  • One should also remember the French and Germans did do some stimulus, as well as the unemployment payments and welfare benefits.

  • German, french and italian deficits (specially the german) as a share of GDP will be much lower than american in 2009. They are being far more fiscally responsible

  • I firmly disagree, skittles2590. As a European (granted, only one), I think in many ways the G-20 London summit was a success, the main difference being France & Germany's (in my view, correct) insistence on tighter regulations. Further, Europeans, in general, are thrilled with Obama; I cannot overstate the difference he appears to be making in terms of public perception; the press has been mostly positive and most persons I know are happy (some, even thankful) Americans voted him into office.

  • to let everyone know, what obama wanted to do in the G20 was almost a complete failure. the europeans didnt want to back their banks

  • Peaches and Hungarians Rock

  • This President makes me proud to be an American again! :)

  • Do they still teach American history?

  • In America? Yes.

  • I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but all I was saying was that after 8 years of Bush it's nice to have someone leading my country who expresses a willingness to understand and listen to other people's and countries' perspectives.

  • yeha instead of some ignorant redneck flapping his gums just to be talking

  • I agree....what I'm looking forward to is people of other nationalities not assuming I'm an idiot just because I'm American.

  • also thanks for your commitment to military families, my brother is serving in iraq right now.

i love your wife michelle btw, shes an amazing first lady

  • This is what a president should be like.

  • Yes,Obama!!!Iapplaud you,too!!!

    Proud!!!

  • this is one of the roles of the president, didnt you take poli sci in college?

he has to bridge international dialogue, bush, clinton & reagan all had to do the same

  • its actually one of the only Constitutional powers of the executive branch, foreign affairs/relations and representing our nation abroad that is.

  • oh wow, because you know making sure the entire global economy doesnt collapse a) doesnt affect our economy and b) wasnt the purpose of the trip....

oh wait YES they world economy DOES affect ours and the purpose of the trip was the G20 meeting to discuss the economy.

    funny how that works.

  • thank your mr president, FEDERAL AID IS USELESS IF CORRUPTION PERSISTS!

i want to see some of the funding go toward EFFICIENT private sectors, they work a lot faster than some of these gov programs

  • Hopefully, so much of the world will not legitamatly hate us, now that Bush is gone. Hopefully they realize now that not every American is as immoral and despicable as the last admin and followers.

  • this is one of the roles of the president

  • Hey Europe! We're so glad that you guys love Obama! We're also very excited about him too being elected!

  • starcatcher7777, crawl back under the rock from which you came, along with your urban myth. It's attitudes like yours that is hurting America, deeply. You don't know how fortunate you are to have such a great, intellectually and emotionally intelligent leader.

  • "If God existed, he'd have saved us from Bush"

    I LOL'ed at this. brilliant.

  • Every fellow European I know used to cringe whenever Bush came up in a conversation, and rightly so; one used to hear (albeit stupid, but understandable) statements like, "The Americans are crazy."

Now, whenever Obama comes up, people are ENTHUSED, ENGAGED, even THANKFUL. In my view, Obama is a genius, intellectually & emotionally; he represents what much of the world, even neutral countries, love about the US, and that's a great place to start.

  • omg , he is the man

  • The French Revolution preached fraternité and egalité, but Napoleon Bonaparte sent an army to reimpose slavery in Haiti after slaves had freed themselves. The hallowed American constitution made room for slavery as a "peculiar institution".

Both France and America preached equality but continued to be ruthlessly imperialistic.

Why is history ignored or turned into cotton candy?

  • because it tastes good!

  • Because in order for Europeans to call the United States an imperialist nation and a global bully and not sound hypocritical they have to ignore their own history.

This is a very resilient nation. We went from systematic black slavery to a black president in less than 150 years. We went from blacks not being considered citizens to having one as a president in less than 50 years. Makes me smile on the future. We've made mistakes but we will rebound like always and shock the world.

  • SearchAndBbuild, I like your name, by the way.

"[F]or Europeans to call the [US] an imperialist nation and a global bully and not sound hypocritical they...ignore their own history."

Actually, in some European countries, it's something taught

ad nauseam, and RIGHTLY SO! The point I made had to do with the recent past, e.g. (aside from the obvious), the previous administration's disdain toward science, and a lack of respect shown toward, and interest in, other cultures.

  • And yes, it is a great example that the US "went from systematic black slavery to a black president in less than 150 years."

  • "Because in order for Europeans to call the United States an imperialist nation and a global bully and not sound hypocritical they have to ignore their own history."

Really? You mean as well Europeans such as Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic, etc.? There are many European states untainted by empire or slavery.

  • Excellent point, GuyInvincible111.

  • Though, GuyInvincible, if we are going to be technical, let's not forget the Middle Ages, when, in effect, with land ownership, there was slavery in the countries you mentioned.

  • ingres809: your point is taken if one makes slavery and serfdom strictly equivalent. Some people choose to make a distinction. The serf belonged to the land while the slave was the property of another person.

In any case, most civilizations in history have been unfree, and even the freest have profited from unfree labour. Today, we can change that.

  • GuyInvincible, I agree.

  • Finally, an American president who can pronounce Goethe. Obama, we love you, and America, again.

  • after visiting europe obama does NOT want to come back home lol

  • why dont you stop bitching at my leader and join the world in making progress..all you do is protest and demand..why don't you offer some god damned solutions? your rhetoric is empty.

i'm a 19 year old college student, i study environmental construction management. I volunteer and serve my nation in any way I can. I'm willing to get my hands dirty for a better tommorrow. You're just on YouTube harrassing a leader who is not your own..get up and do something or just shut the fuck up!

  • A world without nuclear weapons? You can't uninvent the wheel.

  • Yeah, because HE's the one doing the damage. Jeez, if you want to impeach presidents so bad, why didn't you say anything about the one who really screwed us over?

  • I am

  • A president of USA cannot talk to citizens of France through the institutions of France! Come on, stop going to those speeches!

  • My too favorite quotes.....Ahh, Just get it over with, announce it =)

"Its perhaps the most difficult work of all to resolve age old conflicts. To heal ancient hatreds, to dissolve the lines of suspicion between religions an cultures. An people who may not look like us, or have the same faith we do or come from the same...place."

"We have to open our minds an open our hearts, to the differences among us. An the commonalities between us."

  • Many interesting, positive words, but why perpetuate the 911 deception?

We'll judge the US by its acts, not these words.

  • The world loves this dude! So do I. We are so lucky. It might all work out after all. While watching this the phrase, "great uniter" popped into my head. Global unity is so obviously the next step and he's helping to initiate that in a way that engages peoples intellect and emotions.

  • NWO. Power to oligarchs =)))

  • NWA. Real Mothafucki' Ni**as! =)))

    (Directed at dimaniak)
