  • There was one teacher at my high school who had a few stomach pains in mid April... So he went to the doctor who referred him to the hospital where he was confined for three months then died in july. He was only 37 and will be missed forever :'(.

  • Agaricus Blazei mushroom has a 94% success rate for helping eliminate cancer cells. If I can help just one person then this comment is worth it.

  • My wife gave up one hour before the end of her fifteen month battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

All that matters is how you live.

  • lets be aware...and share the info...

  • lets be aware...and share the our info...

  • My Mom has pancreatic cancer. They found a small piece on the tail of her pancreas in January. She kept it from us until July when it was too late. It had already spread to the liver. She's in hospice now but doing remarkably well. She still has her choices, her family, and her dignity and my family and I have been responsible making arrangments and whatnot. But we aren't expecting her to leave us anytime soon. Just feel it in my heart, she has a little time left.

  • My grandmother passed away from pancreatic cancer after less than 2 months of being diagnosed =( If you guys know anyone with this type of cancer ..... just spend as much time as you can with them love them hug them kiss them and get prepared for the last weeks they r the most heartbreaking

  • I do wonder what opportunities there are for young researchers to get involved are. I did the pancan 5k run, and work in genetics research. Always wanted to know if there is some good labs to do work in.

  • I have heard that this type of cancer is nearly incurable and almost always fatal. It is great to see that some progress is being made to treat it.

  • Progress? Not yet, get involved!

The associations were strongest for saturated fat from animal food sources...CONCLUSION: In this large prospective cohort with a wide range of intakes, dietary fat of animal origin was associated with increased pancreatic cancer risk.

So instead of just throwing more money at labrat tests, just adopt a biochemically compatible diet and reduce chances of acquiring all the popular diseases of affluence.

  • I agree. I just came back from China where I saw Pancreatic cancer being cured using Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.

  • @jabella80 That is sometimes right. My mom knows this woman who fully self-cured her own cancer only by eating tons of berries! The tumour had progressed a fair bit too. Unfortunately, that is only a one in a million cases which will respond this well.

  • how aboud alternative dr william kelley enzymes?

  • except for a biological disease that could wipe us all out, then the "human spirit" would be fucked, but not the other animals on this planet which we will probably kill of any way thru polution

  • Wow thats so sad ...omg what a hero!!

  • What an amazing man. We all can learn a great deal from him.. Cancer strikes anyone at anytime, it truly doesn't care what race, age or religion you are. Thanks Randy for sharing. R.I.P.

  • r.i.p Randy

  • Just listening to you has given me hope. My dad was just diagnosis with pancreatic cancer and docs told him his chances are slim to none. That was soo hard to hear. You have lifted spirits and he has decided to fight. Thank you for your encouragement. Thank you so very much!!!!!

  • Go to googole and type in Dr.schulze. Look for the incurable program. It really works!

  • i want to encourage everyone who is diagnosed to waste NO TIME. Unfortunately the doctor my dad had-overlooked some things and too much time went by. He was diagnosed end of oct. (when doc saw and did not say anything to him some spots a few months ago)He passed away Nov 20, after fighting as hard as he could, from advanced stages of pancreatic cancer. DO NOT DELAY ON GETTING SYMPTOMS CHECKED AND RECHECKED IF NECESSARY. I do want to thank you though. You did give him the hope to keep fighting:)!!

  • I am so sorry. I know I have no idea what it feels like because my parents are alive still, but I know he will be watching over you till the day you die. You will be able to see him again. God had something planned for you.

  • This guy I think taught us courage and put a light to what its like when facing death and put it in perspective.

  • this isnt a joke. once it hits you, it hits you like a ton of brikes. but you have to have will power and never give up hope. i have a parent with collon, pancreatic caner and it infected his liver. He still has hope. Its possible guys. dont give up. cause tomorrow everything can change.

  • I want people to know that If you vote for McCane/Palin they will stop stem cell research that is so needed to discover cures for many desiases. Consider saving lives by voting for the right President Barack Obama, this is about health and the future of our families.

  • MCCain and Palin suck! I will never vote for these idiots!

  • listen to the fucking story!!! u bitch

  • I have lost both my parents to this terrible disease. My father died in 10 months. My mother died within 3 weeks of her diagnosis. Please do what you can to defeat this killer.

  • what's the song?

  • I used to want to be rich when i grew up, but Randy got me thinking that life is more than just money. Its about pursuing you passion with optimism and enthusiasm. Thank you randy for sharing your endless wisdom with us. RIP

  • If you want to give to the pancreatic action network - where he has a fundraising page set up (for research, all of it) you can go to firstgiving dot calm forward slash randypausch

I hope to see that fund grow and grow in honor of this man's memory and in hopes of helping others who don't even know they have pancreatic cancer yet!

  • This world is a better place because he walked among us. I would say that it's a waste, but really-- no, it's not. That man lived more than I have, and more than I will. And he made an incredible contribution in how he chose to go about his death.

  • Rest in peace. Thanks for sharing your optimism, your courage, and your joy.

  • For all those who are sick or in need of care- I am glad to say I am studying to be a NURSE. I cannot think of a better career and I am glad to walk in these shoes. Helping people is what I do and I blessed to do it. May God bless us all.

  • Godspeed Randy,

Know that thousands mourn this loss today

  • As a motherless woman due to Pacreatic cancer stealing my mother at age 57, I call Randy Pausch nothing short of a HERO! His inspirational speeches do more for me than any other piece of support. Shine on Randy, Hawaii loves you!

  • Professor Pausch has been inspiring me for the past few months. My mom is a terminal cancer patient, at 50. Randy is fighting so hard for the future of cancer research. The pain and the destruction needs to end. It's the evilest among evils, and I don't know how, or why we still have not found a cure.

We need to fight for the ones we love, who are too weak to fight, or no longer with us to continue the fight. Randy, you're an inspiration, a comfort when I feel alone, and helpless. Believe it.

  • My grandmother was diagnosed in November 2006. The doctor's gave her MAYBE a month to live. We were all so unprepared and devastated by the news. She gave us all her blessings. She passed away January 1st, 2007. Her death makes me all too aware that our time can come at any moment without any notice. I'm sad at her loss. Thank you for educating us all about Pancreatic Cancer.

  • i and 38 yrs old and have pancreatic cancer and i will be one of the 25% that make it past 1 year. pancan is amazing. you are an inspiration

  • sorry to hear that man... he is an inspiration i see what u mean

  • do you know if he is still alive

  • from what i know he is still alive. i havent heard anything yet... if he did i would hve seen something so no i guess not.

  • got his book the last lecture, highly recommend it even though I am half way through it is awesome, it will be a terrible day when this great man leaves this earth

  • Truly an amazing video. My firends mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and it;s so tough... :[[

    Hold in the buddy!

  • Wow! He is really an example for everyone. I only wish he had more time. Good job, Randy

  • dear prof,

your soul is larger than life..i wish to meet you one day...HOLD ON RANDY!!!!!!

    you're great!

  • dear professor. I wish you the best and I believe yo0u believe in what you preach, after all you are a professor. But science has let us all down. As much as I want to help I do not believe in official research and I do not believe in research founded by the pharmaceutical industry. For them the best patient is a chronicalo ill one. I would contribute to organizations looking for a cure without a prejudice.

  • I don't always agree with the current state of research but in all honesty, the best patient to research is going to BE the chronically or terminally ill one. There is no way around that. It isn't a question of prejudice...although I think the current type research doesn't look at natural possibilities closely enough because they can't make money on that.

  • the pharmaceutical industry's research is based in achieving treatement for symptoms, which obviously ends up in not curing anyone but treating everyone with symptoms. Shame on them! That the best research has to be done in chronically or terminally ill people is indeed another subject.

  • The fact that we understand why "they" do not look into natural possibilities closely enough does not make it right. It is not even close to OK. It is an insult. So, money to research labs for them to look into paliative treatements IS NOT OK. AND BY THE WAY: THERE IS CURE FOR CANCER. LET'S GIVE MONEY TO INDEPENDENT RESEARCHERS. THEY DO LOOK FOR A CURE AND THEY CURE PEOPLE EVERYDAY.

  • my mom recently died from pancreatic cancer. she fought for 20 months. they were the best and worst days of my life. say and do everything that you want to do with your loved ones. i was lucky enought to have the chance to say every single thing i wanted to say to her. and ask her every question i could think of. she also left me with a letter of love and encouragement i will cherish forever. some people don't get that chance. all of you should call your mom and tell her you love her.

  • beautiful attitude. No matter how long Randy lives, he will never completely die.

  • My mom died from pancreatic cancer three years ago. She was 49 and I was 20. It was the worst day of my life, but it has since become one of my missions in life to promote pancreatic cancer awareness and the need for cancer research funding. I applaud Randy Paush for all he has been doing to do just that. God Bless him.

  • i am sorry for your loss. i my mom lost her battle with pancan 6 months ago. she was only 65 and just retired. God i miss her. it's so unfair.

  • I lost a very dear friend to pancreatic cancer. She was 54. It breaks my heart to think that she is no longer here. Thank you for sharing this video. I will do the same.

    ~Mimi

  • its heartbeats by jose

  • Dr. Randy Pausch is a true inspiration to all :)

  • does anyone know what song is being played at the beginning because i wish i could know. Poor randy; im happy that randy's happy though, because i know he isnt sad

  • Dr. Pausch has such a brilliant mind, resilient spirit & true gift for educating the world. Thank you for uploading this p.s.a., may medical science be allowed to proceed, that there be a great reduction in such senseless losses to the human race. (Not that Dr. Pausch will ever be lost to us!)

  • I heard him speak in Seattle in 1999.

And ran into him at Universal Studios in LA.

He impresses me as the most alert enthusiastic person I've ever met. A man that enjoys living, thinking, dreaming, communicating, teaching, learning, creating.

  • hey, i like randy pausch alot too! I was just wondering what he was like when u met him, cuz i wish i could meet him, but i cant.

  • I think Randy Pausch has a great positive attitude. He will never completely die. I wonder what song is playing at the beginning though.

  • my husband's grandfather passed away from pancreatic cancer after it spread to his liver. My husbands still talks about him and says he was one of the best humans he met. its true pancreatic cancer has no cure and method of early detection.

may the future bring more hope to all the people suffering from this desease.

  • Many thanks to you Randy and to PANCAN. Your are making a difference and will continue doing so. My family is no stranger to pancreatic cancer... my paternal great grandfather (in the 1960's died after being diagnosed only a few weeks), my father (in 1981 at the age of 53 died within 4 mo. of diagnosis) and my paternal grandmother (in 1990 at the age of 86 died within 6 weeks of diagnosis). To each of you reading this, live your lives fully and love deeply. Life is so very precious.

  • Thank you Dr.Pausch for addressing the seriousness of this disease. My father died in Nov 07. He was 77 years old and thought that his problem had to do with age. He was diagnosed in the last stages. He had surgery for benign colon cancer in Jan 2006 and I truly believe that he might have been in the first stages of pancreatic cancer and they didnt know what they were looking at. He couldnt recieve chemo because he was too weak. A professional of your stature might help wake up the government.

  • This man is my hero. He is dying and yet somehow over the last 7 months has found the time to do stuff like this, lecture to a standing room only crowd about his childhood dreams, write a book, lobby congress for more funding for pancreatic cancer research, appear on Oprah, appear in a walk-on part in a Star Trek movie, and even more. All this and more while undergoing aggressive chemotherapy. He's done more in the past 7 months than I've done in the past 10 years! I admire him so much.

  • in biology today we watch a video about this great man and it made me sad that a person like him will die soon why... its just his time

  • I don't have any money, but my support and prayers and a promising payoff in the future

  • you have my full support, Dr. Randy..
