Le dulcimer français, celui est grand ! Je suis heureux que vous jouiez cet instrument et si tout va bien ayez le meilleur temps avec lui. Merci pour l'observation !
That's Joan and Jack Robertson on the fiddle and pipes. Just wonderful people! So cool that you all found each other. They used to live near us, but have had to relocate to northern Ohio...but they winter in Florida. Miss you guys!!!!! xoxoxo Cindy
Whoa! You have lost weight. Looking good! You did great on those pipes. They are probably the hardest instrument out there to play but you pulled it off wonderfully!
Thanks! (on both counts) I feel much better about myself now that I've lost some extra pounds. Bagpipes are crazy-fun, gonna have to save up some crazy-dough to get some though. : )
25 pounds and counting! Shooting for 10 more. Somewhere after the summer, watching myself in these videos I thought, "whoo, Lawd", better reign myself in.
Aaaarrrgghhh! Shortenin' Bread is supposed to be accented on the 2 and the 4 with a back beat swing. I always ask folks to put their instruments down and just sing it - nearly everyone will automatically sing it with a back beat, but when they pick the instruments back up, it's back to the 1 and 3. Sigh...
oooOOOOooo i want to go there!

What kind of mute does Jack have on the pipes?! I can hardly believe a fiddle & dulcimer would go up against even parlor pipes and still be heard!!

Well, the dulcimer kinda got buried, heh. Still, these parlor pipes were not terribly loud.

If you can freezeframe that business card it's got the info for the guy that makes the ones in the video. $750 - not bad at all!

LOL! I think there were 2's and 4's going on - but mixed with the 1's and 3's, it just sounds like four-on-the-floor.
