Awesome video my friend, Thx for sharing it! I don't believe that anyone will ever surpass Bruce Lee, no matter what ppl say about today's martial artist's...
todays martial artists? you speak of fighting as a skill which has to be developed... you know nothing, if 'todays martial artists' as u like to put it - are more FIT(including all areas of fitness) than bruce lee and knew the true way of fighting, which is not neccessarily jeet kune do because it has its floors, then YES they would 'surpass' bruce lee, because of the simple fact that they would be fitter lol
R.I.P Bruce Lee <3 Forever You Will Be Remebered x
@TOWinkworthIpswich Although Bruce Lee was an EXCEPTIONAL HUMAN BEING, he does NOT epitomize Greatness in the Martial Arts. I am NOT trying to take ANYTHING away from Bruce, but he burned himself out and that is NOT what Martial Arts is all about.
O' Sensei LEARNED it is NOT the human who wins the most fights that is the BEST martial artist, but the one who OUT LIVES ALL his opponents!!! And those individuals who learn that Martial Arts are MUCH MORE than just about fighting, but about HEALTH,.
@EmeiBaguazhang your a perfect example of why martial arts fails to teach human how to defend themselves, you are not focusing on fighting, but more on tradition, more on 'living' not 'fighting' ... it seems the definition of martial arts should be changed, it gives the false impression that it will actually help you to fight lol yeah i have a positive attitude to martial arts lool NOT x
@TOWinkworthIpswich I agree, but to "ME" the reason WHY so many styles are STILL present are because we are Not robots and ALL NEED our own way of defending ourselves.
Some person might not take well to Karate, but do Very well at Brazilian Jujitsu.
Even though it is a movie, it makes a good point: In Breakfast Club the "Jock" was attacked by the Street Kid , and what did he do, when attacked???
@TOWinkworthIpswich We are not all round pegs or square pegs to be fit into their proverbial holes. And we ALL have our Natural propensities and abilities to deal with situations. Someone who is five foot tall and 210 pounds will NOT fight the same as someone 6 foot tall and 165 pounds and THESE DIFFERENCES is what makes "STYLES" a VERY important part of why some people train differently than others.
@TOWinkworthIpswich (Finally) Man will NEVER be the "SAME" and because of THIS, there will ALWAYS be many different Martial Arts. And this is why styles and systems Continue to Help different people. Body type and disposition and many other factor DRAW people to a fighting style.
Sumo may NOT be the BEST fighting style in the world, but it is VERY effective with someone who is trained in it for Self Defense.
@EmeiBaguazhang the fighter who wins, is the fighter with defense, i dont think it matters who you are, your size or what style u use, if u can defend yourself from your opponents attack, & attack at the same time, u will win the fight. I genuinely do not believe martial arts are teaching us to defend, the fact theres different 'style' shows that they are just teaching us different ways to attack, there is only one way to defend and for me it is 'intimidation', there are inifnite ways to attack.
@EmeiBaguazhang the reason i say intimidation,is because we shouldnt defend with our weapon because we need to attack with our weapon, intimidation 2 me,is many thing, keeping a safe distance, this doesnt require our weapon & its showing your opponent he cannot catch you, this is intimidating,'Ali' is a perfect example,he would always dance around the ring not letting his opponent catch him,& before fights he would psych his opponents out with words, all forms of defense which dnt use up ur weapon.
@EmeiBaguazhang that is very true. Longevity and the code of honor one lives by is important in martial arts. But do not forget the "martial" part. Fighting is a huge piece of martial art. Fighting to protect ourself, our loved ones, and our existance. If you are not training your fighting techniques in a somewhat realistic manner (regardless of style) then you might as well be practicing yoga

Bruce Lee was more than a Marital artist, more than an actor, he is a legend and an Icon!
No matter what anyone thinks of his Gung Fu, he was a totally different breed!
I have heard people say that "Today's Martial Artists" have gone FAR BEYOND him, but I do not agree.
He was a presence that could not be matched.
NO ONE can ever take away WHO he was,.......and he was simply amazing!

@TOWinkworthIpswich I am glad you have such a positive attitude toward Martial Arts :D
I NEVER said Jeet Kune Do was the was the Ultimate way of fighting or implied that!!
ALL I AM saying is that Bruce Lee was an Icon and NO ONE can take THAT away from him.
I look to Yip Man, Sun Lu Tang, O' Sensei and people of this nature to be the GREATEST martial artist that ever lived.
To ME the BEST martial Artists that EVER LIVED are the ones that lived long lives and had GREAT long term health!

@TOWinkworthIpswich (Cont) and about LONGEVITY!!
As for FIGHTERS and WARRIORS,...that is a DIFFERENT story.
But the Martial Artist is NOT concerned with WINNING, but with The WHOLENESS of the "BEING" and "ENLIGHTENMENT"!!!
If you KNEW ANYTHING, you would KNOW THIS!!!
Have a nice day!! : )

He countered with a Wrestling move!!
It is what he knew!
