looks like you were trying turn it with the ailerons...I've made that mistake with 1/4 scale cub. They are tricky and tougher to fly than what people think. Need work on your go around decision making :)

What a shame. Who put that stupid pole there anyway? Move the field or pull out the poles. Other than that not to much damage. A couple of hours and back in the sky. Was a nice landing.

That pole is holding the security web. BUT, should have another web doing a triangle there to prevent this kind of accident. Nowadays we are investing to create a celling over the maintenance area. well its very fixable,, cubs are so floaty it helps to use flaps to kill the lift and slow it down or even avoid the runway and go for the grass check my cool sim vids and yes i do fly realtime

You can mix into ailerons....then they are called flaperons and yes they engage just like flaps but still offer control of wings.

with flaperons you lose 50% of your aileron throw... anyway j3's don't need flaps anyway. flaps are only useful for STOL.
