  • I love this version of the movie. In fact i still have the VHS lol. I could not STAND the Disney adaptation that was made. It was just awful. Can't wait to buy it on DVD soon

  • Disney didn't need to COPY this style.....in most of his animations.

  • This came out 1957 and Snow White by Disney came out in 1937. While I realize you are not making a distinction about those two animated films in particular, Disney was the first to do what he did.

    He was animating as early as 1920. And the FIRST. Show some respect.

    Everybody else followed.

  • I remember watching this as a kid too and i love Miyazaki's work too..didn't know he was inspired by it..wow.

  • Art animation is wonderful, its so 50s.

  • One of my favorite films from my childhood. I would get so excited when it was shown on Detroit or Windsor television. Really beautiful, pure, and chilling. The Snow Queen is a fantastically arch, bitter character rendered well. The version I watched as a child had the voices of Sandra Dee, Tommy Kirk, and Patty McCormick.

  • i loved this too when I was little! I'd watch it again, but I lost the VHS...either that, or my parents gave away T_T =[ !! For some reason, I was scared of the queen before. lol.
