This pathetic attempt by the host highlights just how much religion resembles domestic abuse. Counsellors in battered wives shelters have a lot of work persuading victims to let go of their indoctrination; someone has taken their power away, told them they're worthless, bad, unlovable but HE loves them. "I own you, you're nothing without me, it's YOUR fault I hurt you..." The abuser makes himself central to their existence, their only salvation, & they say "He's not bad, he loves me!"

First of all, the previous blogger is right; this pathetic little "gotcha" game is not worthy of Hitchens' intelligence. Secondly, I LOVE how Hitchens beats him at his own game! Using his pathetic "what if's" to highlight the immorality of the presuppositions behind the questions themselves was pure genius. The host is revealed in his back-handed and devious way to try to get Hitchens to say what he wants and it backfires miserably. Well done Hitch!

Christ, the host is such an imbecile. You can tell he's aiming these questions to arrive at certain answers, but Hitch doesn't play along. Why do Christians have to fall back on rhetorical tricks and debating tactics when promoting their religion? I guess it's because there's no good reason to accept the tenets of their religion. There's nothing of quality to desire, nothing of value, because there is nothing there in the first place.

Yes, unfortuneately there are only a very small handful of people who aren't already on hitchens side who could have got all the full ramifications of that. People often claim that north korea is an example of an atheist state, it is not, it is a theocracy, just as imperial japan or ancient egypt, Kim Jong IL does LITERALLY think he's god, and so does a big giant chunk of the population.
