Its Papua New Guinea.Not all Papua new Guineans are melanesians.The southern cooast of New Guinea mainland or papua region are are actually polynesians.Thats where the PNGs capital port Moresby is located, and where these people are from.

Yeah im a hardouut central from hanuabada and manumanu reprezzzent!! 4 those of u in doubt of where motuans nd the people of central province in png r from, they descended from polynesian missionaries who after finding free land in papua new guinea never went back home and settled along the coast. They are believed to have come mainly from Samoa before Tonga and the cook islands. My grandfather taught me our history while i was growing up wondering why we looked so different to inland people.

The motuans or Papuans are Polynesians,so are the Motlock islanders or Nugurians in the North Solomons and the Wuvulu Islanders near Manus.
The Samarais are even Melanesians...
Solomon Island too is not 100% Melanesian,they have Polynesians known as the Ontong Java people. etc.
