1:42 that appears to be the CQC style of handgun usage from the Metal Gear Series. In that series, the knife is pointed down like that so a quick switch between knife and handgun can happen, while maintaining the accuracy of the pistol. The "Tactacal Knife" idea from MW2 does succeed in allowing a switch between weapons, however the handgun loses some accuracy in the making. In the MGS series, the handgun is givin much more control, although the knife can be used at any time. I use this idea too
