  • The Kansas 'version' IS the song. This one isn't bad though ...

  • you make me mad scorpions you make this like a rock anthem when its a slow song thanks for destroying a good song

  • not too bad

  • YOU'RE MY BOY, BLUE!

  • I think it's fucking fantastic

  • I keep waiting for Tom Jones jump in with "It's Not Unusual"

  • Why drums? Spoil everything.

  • never heard this version but i like its a different arrangement but very nice

  • @vthokie011 In studio, Robby was able to overdub his string parts, but when Kansas played this one live, he played violin while Kerry (or maybe Steve) played the second string part on synthesizer. Not a huge Scorpions fan, but they did a pretty respectable cover arrangement here, no doubt about that.

  • Klaus Meine.....Uberstar!!!!!!!!!

  • i miss the second string

  • ugh his voice live sucks =D its good though they did a good job

  • I like this. Everyone wants to copy Kansas, As a rhythm player who hates fingerstyle, I think this is really different and a great job. Kansas's version is great, but it's not one you can play and sing at the beach or park.

  • 30 Pessoas são Poeras no Youtube

  • DIOS!!! NO PUEDO CONTENER LAS LAGRIMAS!!!

  • Scorpions die hard fan, Kansas is better but it's a cover so whatever. Of course you have arguably one of the best rock singers ever on stage.

  • Scorpions die hard fan, Kansas is better but it's a cover so whatever.

  • Not bad, I love the Scorpions, but Kansas original is a classic.

  • Dat goes without sayin' kansas million times betterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

  • Dat goes without sayin' kansas million times betterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

  • Epic music. Lacks epic beard, epic eyepatch, epic neck, though.

  • Song also same, Alittle change from time to time.

  • yeah, dancing-time

  • @rockncleve random but thats just funny

  • I'm fond of the original Kansas tune, but he has a hell of a powerful voice, no matter what he sings.

  • @rockncleve they sings about peace and love ad the sow in Israel if they were Nazis the weren't show in israel

  • I think what the "problem" is, is that the Kansas versions all have a lonely, desolate feeling about them, and something with the instruments gives this one a "pop" feeling to it. I'm no musician, but that's what I hear. Maybe the rythm guitar?

  • amazing. This is so good. Especially when the percussion comes in.

  • Something i always liked about the scorpians is how much vocal power the singer has.

  • Scorpions, ihr rockt!

    Einfach deutscher Wahnsinn!

    Macht weiter so!

    Hackisan. de

  • ive seen ROXY from germany

i think this video its the best

    your op ?

  • scorpions are great,i like this version like original...

  • <- is moved emotionally. *sniffle.*

  • Scorpions do justice to Kansas's Dust In The Wind.

  • I HAVE THAT GUITAR AT 1:58!!! but mine is white

  • That was a superb cover! The beat contributed well to the overall sound. Only narrow minded idiots would find fault with this. Yes, Kansas did it great, but a little sprinkling of dreams on it made it even more palatable.

  • Why not cover a song? If you like it and would love to perform it then go for it!

Original by Kansas is awesome, and this is a worthwhile live cover from another great band.

No place in world for slagging off and negative comparisons; just love the music.

  • MAGO DE OZ

  • but mago de oz are SHIT...

  • This is a great cover version of a great song.

  • bonFreakingJovi: I totaly agree with you

DkotheClown: go fuck yourself, klaus' voice ruled

  • IMPRESIONANTE

  • one of my favorite covers

  • Very nice cover of Kansas song !!

    Meaningful text.

May ♥love♥ be with you and everyone who comes here.

    Steven

  • Someone needs to throw a large bucket of water on the guy playing the piano. He's such a flaming homo that he's about to burst into flames.

  • nope...that dog won't hunt. sorry.

Dust in the Wind belongs to Kansas.

  • This version has no soul. Kansas with Steve Walsh on lead vocal is (late seventies) the classic!!!

  • i wouldnt say it has no soul but the Kansas version is definatly better. in my opinion.

  • this was a rele good cover

  • I love the Scorpions mucho aber these singer hat alweis this german accent somewhere burried unten seine gesange.Jawol.

  • i love Kansas version, but i love Scorpions version more :)

  • Oh yea...almost forgot,,,,Point of know return was up there too.

  • Personally, I think your talking out your keesta...pretty sure dust in the wind was #1...and carry on wayward son was damm close to it...at any rate BOTH song were in the TOP TEN....WORLD WIDE.....Scorpions can even come close to that. Not to mention how involved Kansas music is technology wise....sorry just cant compare the two. Although, I do like the Scorpions....especially that song...still loving you...great tune.

  • I don`t think so.. It`s cool

  • Naah, this version is to fast for this song :/

  • Nice try fellas....but Kansas blows you guys away...they always did. Thats why they had 2 NUMBER ONE songs.....Scorpions had zero. I rest my case.

  • They;re both amazing artists. And kansas never had a number one song. Dust in the wind was #6 and carry on wayward son was #11

  • What kind of idiot bases a good band on how many # 1 hits they had? A tool, that's what.

  • much better than kansas!!!!!scorpions rocksssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this adds a dimension to the scorpions i never knew of

  • esta rompemadres que no

  • go to 1:38

  • i love the cellist, she's hootttttttt!

  • @patokadz agreed

  • The cellies is damn hottt!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @patokadz Yeah, she's a hottie alright. I love her facial moves as she plays. She is feeling the music, not just playing it.

  • @patokadz Not as hot as the keyboardist...

  • losers cant fingerpick?

  • One sign of a truly great song is that it can be done in many styles, and it's still a good song. For example, the swing version of Ozzy's "Crazy Train" that they used for the Osborne's TV show. The Beatles "Yesterday" has been covered in so many ways, you couldn't count them all.

One might prefer a particular interpretation, or always prefer the original. But this is a great song, and that's why this version of it DOES work. I could imagine it in several different latin versions.

  • are they line-dancing at 2:28?

  • Yeah, line dancing is very popular in Portugal, almost as popular as fado is in Texas

  • ... when i say it is not a song to clap to, i don't mean at the end. that's fair. rythymic clapping is an insult during such a song... which goes to show how poor scorpions performed during this song.

  • god!!! scorpions do a really bad job at this one. they spoil the feeling and mood of the song altogether. as someone said, this is not a country/pop, but a very mellow and deep song which speaks volumes of Kansas' vision of our role in this world. only congrats i can make is for the 01:40 cellist. she pulls it excellently and with a sort of passion. but the audience is stupid - this is not a song to clap to.

  • the scorpians don't do a bad job at this song but i like kansas's version a little better

  • Hes strumming it? to hard to play it real, lol

  • FOREVER KALUS!!!!

  • Kansas and the Scorpions both do an awesome job with ""Dust in the Wind"".

It's OK to love both versions.

  • ficou uma versão ruim....Scorpion é melhor do que isso....

  • Great cover song...Love the original version from Kansas 'but cant go wrong with the Scorpions,

  • Some songs are better left alone. Scorps, stick to heavy

    please.

  • It sucks.... It's an catastrophy.... Dust in the wind 's NOT a country pop song, god!

  • when u are doing a cover, my dear friend, you are trying to do it your way, thats the meaning of it all, it doesnt have any meaning to copy exactly the song, they made it different, great

  • True, but I was only telling my own point of view. Then, sometimes, I mean, really, people shoudn't cover a song. And, finally, I wasn't expected the same way of playing that song, but I couldn't imagine it would be THAT different.

  • lol this sucks compared to kansas' version xD

  • u jebote, Reginina pesma zaista lici na ovo... nema veze, svejedno mi se svidja ^____^

btw, volim ja scorpionse... lepa pesma <3

  • loved this upbeat version

  • awesome

  • If you like Scorpions!

    You'll love my videos!

    All are in High Definition!!!

  • omfg what was that at 03:09??? :D:D:D:D

  • hahaha ya that was funny! ^^

  • i love the solo ^_^ but i still LOVE KANSAS

  • I like this cover exactly because it is different from the original. That is the whole point! If you have been educated as a musician at least a little bit you will know that there is no point in playing the song like the original band. Plus, I dunno what the hell is JoAuriun talking about...that girl has a fine tone, brother!

  • I don't like this cover, it's got nothing of the emotion of the original, it's not even near it

    kansas rocks

  • Look up these Scorpions songs- Humanity , Your last song, Remember the good times,White dove,We`ll burn the sky,Life is too short,10 light years away,My city my town,Holiday,New generation,Skywriter,The cross,We willrise again & Cause I love you . Be sure to listen to the lyrics very passionate!

  • thanks for the tipp, I'll sure do :)

  • Sorry guys I got two issues. One, it sounds like tiki music with their cover. Two, that girl lacks passion for her instrument

  • *laff* Your response was indeed quite funny. Also I had no idea that the Scorps covered this song. On the other hand there is humor in this video far beyond what they intended -that is if they intended any at all - if you know what I mean.

  • I just love this song <33 We really are only dust in the wind... :D

  • I love the scorpions but they turned it into an 'up tempo' song, its not really meant to be upbeat........... the fools !

  • You're my boy Blue

  • LOL

    UR MY BOY!

  • they actually did a better job than I expected.

and when the bass kicks in, oh man

  • hmmm... I miss the finger picking, otherwise a rather good cover

  • you're an ass hole bro

    scorpions are a great band

you just have no respect for music

    thats pathetic

  • they covered it because they're only famous song is rock you like a hurricane hahaha they suck

  • what is this ? Karaoke hour? what happened to the feel of the song ??

  • Lacks soul.

  • I prefer the phase version but this is OK. Kansas is good too!! So is Sydney Poitier as an actor.

  • klaus has perfect voice!

  • this version remind me about a special friend of mine..is not good as the original one...but nice too;)

  • Kansas and the Scorpions (remembering that the Scorpions are German)Both did a great job with this song !!!

  • poxa kra, vc cortou a introdução

    mas vlw por postar

    Scorpions Rocks

  • scorpions and kansas are so good.. i prefere kansas version but this is awesome too

  • Kansas all the way!!!!

  • Klaus' voice makes me shiver every and any time I hear it. Unarguably he and Robin Gibb are THE VOICEs. Pure perfection!

  • i love scorpions but i don't like his voice for this song

  • haha the best version of this song is will ferell´s in the movie oldschool;))

  • nice song and play , bad voise

  • This cover version has a recognizable rhythm, which I do personally like. It has a bit of the Southern flair.

  • its a great song and it don't metters whoo sing it but scorpions are the best

  • I love both bands...this is acually cool a little up tempo..original is always the best..but at least they put their own little thing into it..I hate bands that cover songs just like the record, really no point..was this their last tour??..cause I saw them and they didn't do it...

  • Drums doesn´t fit to the song I think. Also fingerpicking sounds better than strumming. Original Dust in the wind is better but this isn´t so bad :).

  • This guy definitely doesn't sing as good as the original does.

  • The Scorpions are much better then Kansas... I think this version is better then all!

  • fingerpicking, not strumming

  • Musically the version done by the scorps is excellent, the vocals however are somewhat passionless almost to the point of being phoned in.

  • wow now I love the Scorps but not on that tune. When you take the original feel away from a song vocally and musically this is what you end up with. A sterile sounding version. Scorps are good at what they do just not on this tune.

  • Never heard of the Scorpions, Love Kansas' Dust in the wind, this is a very dynamic, exciting interpretation of the piece, they obviously respect it's writers. The Cellist losing her dress is EDIBLE.

  • Ignignokt: When I call your name, please say "here" and we'll assume the word "here" to be short for "here I am, rock you like a hurricane."

Err: You do as The Scorpions before you!

Still, Ksfallguy's kinda right, the Scorpions just don't do this one justice.

  • I assume your esperanto is actually a Russian insult..you are correct, I am, as confessed, ignorant of The Scorpions. Perhaps my ignorance gives me an unbiased opinion, or maybe I'm full of shit, can't tell.

  • Nah, it's a quote from ATHF, and Rock you like a hurricane's the song their most famous for, search for it.

  • Now I am truely revealing my ignorance..what, pray tell, is ATHF? Do you think the gentleman playing the Steroidal Balilaika @2:20 is concerned for the cellist's wardrobe malfunction or is seeking a downblouse view to heaven?

  • Few songs contain in so few words so much philosophy. I Love it. For this is all we humans are, dust in the wind...

  • Yep, you hit the nail on the head

  • the song relates the folly and useless worth we place in the the things of mans creation! that there is somthing more to this life than just the parts that make us up, and all our works will be dust in time! its way deeper than the simple words, its ment to get you to question your own mortallity and how you approach life beyond this plain! kerry is a christian this is just one of the eternal questions he pondered before his conversion!

  • i prefear kansas but this sounds cool just for the drum cuse give it more ritm

  • I'm a HUGE Scorpions fan, but this piss poor gypsy folk version of this classic has completely stripped every ounce of soul out of it when compared to the original.

  • Yeah, this song would be perfect, it´s really really good and these guys would be the best to perform it IF you had never heard Kansas...

  • Great cover but i just prefer to hear kansas singing

  • its good but they could do beter

  • ok not bad..its very good but Kansas version (the original :P) is way better

  • Klaus Meine Rocks. Incredible Vocal chords. Great Cover by a great band.

  • His voice's like I'm in Heaven!!!! (...and there I am, actually, any and every time I listen to him:)))))))

  • im with you two. perfect vocals...he injects the perfect amount of melancholy whilst hitting every note, his lilting note transitions are offset with the power of his held notes.

  • wow you know a lot...dont getit.. but i see how this single pis of lyrics has a huge impact to all... cant stop listening....

  • well this is a matter of opinion! Don't get so tetchy. Every song and band means something different to everyone. I love this song and I can clearly see that so does the singer. They completely change the sound, but I prefer that, to some retards attempting to copy it.

  • Two things...Scorpions just did a accustic version, as a matter of fact, that is the name of the concert.

Sara Brightman is one of the first, if she is not the first, in making the crossover from Classic to pop, rock etc. music, and she is one of the best singers ever, most respect...you ignorant!!!

  • sara brightman had no business doing this song, and then backing it with queens who wants to live forever, she obviouslly didnt let the feelings come frome the heart or she never would have done them together, she is a money grubing sell out, whats next skid rows i remember you?

  • I sorry but I think that you don't have an idea of what music and feeling is.

I won't waste my time with you anymore.

keep in that world of ignorance where you obviously belong.

  • He may be an ass, but he's absolutely right. Neither version's got that despair that made the original so damn good.

  • If a big act like the Scorpions does a cover, I think they should make it their own, not a direct copy - ctually, it is a simplification of the original with much less feeling. Certainly a great song worthy of covering though.

  • This is an excellent cover.

  • amazing cover. I heard the cover before the real thing. I like the oneby Kansas better but oh well still its a great cover

  • i think they rush it a little but they are truly worthy of covering it

  • Interesting. His voice is great, but doesn't seem to put as much feeling into it as Steve Walsh.

  • *****

  • Yes Scorpions! The number one!*******

  • Dream On! lmao

  • fuck ya!

  • I'm a big Scorpions fan from the 70's on, Also a

Kansas fan... sorry boys leave that one alone.:)

  • this cover is much better than original! only scorpions

  • Mainly because the bassline is SO simple, hahaha, but it's still great.

  • Personally, I like this cover. I mean, sure, he can't pronounce half the stuff he says, but it's still a good cover. The Scorpions are AMAZING, and, frankly, so is this. 'Sides, I LOVE the basslines in this hahaha.
