  • ...dope...great interpretation!!!

  • @EGM001 thanks for watching.

  • Good song. You do it well.

  • @TheMissouripicker thank you!

  • What are the agreement or tablature? Or had you found?

  • @22ukulele the chords are basically C F and G. i don't have tabs for this.

  • Oh my god, Russ. That was absolutely incredible. Please, for the love of everything that is right in the world, please post the tabs. Or, at the very minimum, please post the plucking chords. I want to learn your version badly. Once again, phenomenal job. Bravo

  • @orngandblu thanks for the comment! i haven't played this song in forever, but the chords i'm using are basically C F and G. the picking isn't too hard to figure out if you have the chords and melody in your head. good luck!

  • @russbuss415 I'll do my best. Once again, great job. Very well done.

  • mini guitars are meant for fat hawaiian guys or mexican tourists..

  • Hei dude, great version man!

I´ve just got a Uke as a gift and I´m learning to play it all by my self,

and i´ve got a friend that asked me to play this song for her.... Do you have a tablature for it?

    Thanks!

  • @adiethelm thanks for watching! i got the chords from the internet and just messed around with some notes for the picking parts. it's not hard to figure out once you have the chords and melody in your head. enjoy your new uke!

  • your amazing! can you do johnny cash "ring of fire" ? that world be awesome :-)

  • @clayheycan thanks for watching! ring of fire has been covered many many times on ukulele already so i'll leave that one alone.

  • two tabs??? not more?

  • Good job!

  • @msenin thank you !

  • I would be totally in love with you even more if you done "Man in Black" or sunday morning come down ;D

  • @clairelouisepwns18 thanks for watching!

  • Yoh Rus - this is gerald (gfart). Dood, ran into your video while messing around w/ the Pono. Nice man - love this song!

  • @bawdotla yo thanks Gerald! glad you liked it.

  • Very good cover! :) I liked it a lot!

  • @ItsChelseaaHere thank you!

  • "i keep my eyes wide open all the time" - now that's ironic ^^

    nice cover!

  • this is a great cover. vocals and playing were really good man. good job.

  • many thanks!

  • I have the same Uke and also have mine setup with the Low G. I play guitar and have always strummed the bass note into the chords, so since I'm not really a ukulele player, the high G isn't as natural to me. I believe the first time I strung it low I bought a concert set of strings which come with the low G, then I found out later I could buy single strings at the guitar store! I think IZ had his setup with low G too. Check out my one and only ukulele cover of over the rainbow. Like your gear!

  • thanks! i come from guitar and do that bass note thing by habit as well. turns out it kind of works even on high G. different effect but still sounds good.

  • this is amazing!

  • thanks for watching!

  • Thanks for the vid. Loved it.

A question about the Tenor Uke though. I have a standard Uke with the high G. You indicate that your Tenor has a low G. Did it come that way or did you restring it? Does the low G change the chord patterns compared to having a high G?

  • thank you! the uke came high G and i strung it low G. you can switch back and forth easily if you change your mind. you can play this tune just fine with high G. you just won't have the lower notes in the opening picking. the chord shapes will be same regardless of low/high G tuning.

  • Nice work on the ukuele - love it!

  • thanks for watching!

  • I really like it and have to laugh about thaaat liiiittle ukelele in your hand an the huge guitars in the back :DD

  • haha, indeed. thanks!

  • pouvais vous me donneé les partition ?

    merci d'avence

  • i don't speak french so am not sure what you're asking. if you're looking for chords, you can find them easily on any guitar tab website. good luck!

  • les accord je peut les trouvée sur un cite de guitar ?? c'est du ukulele mais merci quand meme .

  • Nice job.

  • thank you!

  • awesome! nice man.

  • many thanks!

  • thanks for watching!

  • where did you buy your uke?

  • ebay

  • what kind of uke do you have?

  • that was a lanikai LU-21TEBK

  • where did you buy it :)

  • kool.. i like your videos and your interpretation.. :) hey ever think ring of fire? lol

  • thanks for the comment! i would but there are already too many good uke covers of ring of fire.

  • Nicely done..... very weird using a ukulele though... check out mine!

  • thanks!

  • Great job!! keep on playing!

  • thank you!

  • Whoa, great job

when is your solo album coming out?

  • lol, thanks for watching!

  • Thanks for the video, I was trying to play I Walk the Line from a book and couldnt really find a strum pattern I was pleased with, Im going to try the one you're using!

  • thanks, glad it helped you!

  • Dude i luv ur cover, ur tele and ur Uke. i too play a tele, uke and have covers on youtube, check out " 2 blokes a stool and a chair that twizels"

  • thanks for watching! teles are nice.

  • really dig it man! i just picked up the ukulele about 6 months ago after playing guitar and i enjoy even more than guitar. so unique and beautiful to arrange interesting covers! i would really like to start some sort of string trio/quartet with ukulele and guitar in the twin cities area. anyone interested??

  • thanks! yeah, the uke is a very fun instrument in addition to guitar.

  • Nice cover, I like that strumming pattern you've got there. I ordered a tenor a bit ago, still need to get some low G strings. I was going to get one similar to that, but it was out of stock, got an Ohana instead.

  • thanks for the comment! Ohana is a very fine choice.

  • Yeah, it's a great uke. Wish I could have got one in black though - Cash is my hero.

  • Damn good! I just started to play the uke in a-d-fis-h! Could you send me the tabs?

  • thank you! i posted the chords a couple of comments up. or you can find them on chordie. good luck!

  • Very Good!

  • thank you!

  • that is a great cover! I have been playin my uke for a couple month now and trying to do this song. I 'm struggling to see which note youre playing in the intro.

I'd really appreciate if you could tell me the notes you pick from00:18s to 00:26. thank you !

  • thanks for watching. i'm not evening sure how to illustrate that. the melody at 00:18 starts on the open C string, then C 2nd fret, then open E string, then E 1st fret, open A string. then E string 3rd fret, E 1st fret, open E, open C. that probably made no sense to you but good luck!

  • This was very helpful .. nearly got it down now! thank you for taking the time to answer my question!

  • no problem at all. glad it worked out for you.

  • Comment removed

  • Rock on or country on.What ever, give 'er.

  • very good, both instrumentally and vocally!

  • thank you for watching!

  • i enjoyed this very much im a bi cash fan so yes this was tre cool 5 stars my friend. also where did you get your ukulele i want to have a try at playing :) any sugestions on what to buy etc. thanks again :D

  • thanks for the comment! got my ukulele from ebay. check out Ukulele Underground's website for tips on purchasing a uke. the link should be in the description box. good luck!

  • You have a very good voice and are very good at playing... you don't normally sing coutry do you? If you do I think you should lead towards a different genre. I don't think country displays your singing best. But you do have a good voice!

  • thanks, i appreciate the feedback. :)

  • Y E S - A W E S O M E. Great singing and playing. 5stars!

  • thank you very much!

  • Fabulous! I realy like the ukulele cover on this song! and your interpretation is quite good two. I would love to do so...could you please send me the tabs or a link or something?

  • thanks for the comment! the chords are simple. basically like this:

    A E7 A

    A E7 A

    A D A

    A E7 A

  • thank you muchly!

  • Great job Russ. Very well played and sung.

  • well done...nice.

  • thank you!

  • great video. How do you like that uke. I'm looking for one myself. I was going to go with a Kala Ka-TE, but then I realized if has a low-G string. So now I'm looking at some Lanakais.

  • i actually gave this one away because i rarely played it. although, i was really impressed with the quality and sound. i just decided to stick with my smaller ukes. thanks for watching!

  • Great cover! I'm surprised you got rid of the tenor - it sounds great w/ a low g. Keep 'em coming.

  • thanks, i do miss it at times.

  • where do you get your music from? i cant find a good song to learn that you can play on a uke.

  • i just search for guitar tabs/chords on the internet. with the uke, the sky's the limit.

  • One of the best CASH covers on uke. Nice job, thanks for the inspiration, you make it look easy.

  • thanks for the comment!

  • this is VERY good :)

  • thanks much!

  • love it, very beautiful

  • thanks for watching!

  • nice work,dude

    i like it

    4 and a half stars ;O)

  • thank you!

  • to be honest, i dont have any ear that could help me, i only can read chords, i'm not a good musician. but i wont bother you with that stuff.

oh funny, i've got the same ukulele as you !

i have a lanikai tenor (black) ! is it the same i guess? i can make a video to show you :)

  • yup. lanikai LU21-TE in black.

  • that was excellent ! i voted 5 stars ! i wish i could have the uke tabs for the picking, but also you have a nice voice and you play well!

one day when i get older i'll play like you :)

    i hope!

  • thanks for watching! its not too hard to figure out by ear, but if you get stuck, let me know.

  • i find it very very very very excellent! :)

  • thanks much!

  • that was very good i loved it

  • thanks for watching!

  • that was really cool. u have mad skilllzzzzz

  • thanks much! appreciate the comment.

  • excellent cover of Johnny Cash.

  • thanks!

  • i love j cash - and i loved your version of it

  • thanks for watching!

  • dude you need to do a tutorial on this! badass

  • thanks! i probably won't do a tutorial but if you have any questions, i'll be happy to help you out.

  • Wow, this rocks! I love Johny Cash.

  • thanks for watching!

  • i agree. it takes away from the signature uke sound but still fun to mess around with. one out of my 3 ukes is low G. nice to have the option. thanks for the comment!

  • I like that a lot. Not sure about low G though. I know it gives you somewhere to go with 'walking' bass lines but then it starts to become a high pitched guitar rather than a uke, doesn't it? Maybe I'm just a Luddite.

  • "a woman pretending to be a man, pretending to be a woman." haha! random. definately gonna go low g once my strings start to go.

  • yeah dude, give it a try. you may or may not like it. but worth trying. when we grabbing that drink? haha.

  • man, its summa time - i got no excuses! one of these days ima hit up the beach. when that happens, i'll letchu know!

  • sounds good, peace!

  • Wow man, awesome. I'm going to have to get a low G string; I've been wanting to cover country tunes with my uke but haven't been able to get a sound as nice as yours. Keep up the good work.

  • thanks dude! the low G does open up some possibilities.

  • I loved this! It's such a great song and you did an awesome job!

  • thanks much!

  • woo!

  • Hey RussBuss415. I really liked how your low G and the finger picking brought the song to life. I'm a member of the Berkeley Ukulele club and we have a few UU undergrounders there too: Fred and JP. I am fairly new to playing music so I am going to transcribe your version and give it a try. Good job, nice vocals. I liked your disapearance act on another video too. Jeff

  • thanks for the feedback Jeff! i've been to the Berkeley Ukulele club once a few months back and met Fred and JP there! thats how i found out about UU. i don't have anything written out for this song. just figured it out and then did the video. let me know if you have any questions about it. i'll be happy to help in anyway.

  • Russ you say you did this in A D E7 but your fingers say C F G. (I still like this version.) Jeff BUC

  • oops, you are absolutely right. i must have had another version in my head when i replied to that other person. thanks for the correction. cheers!

  • I love how you get RIGHT to the point at the start, "Okay/johnny cash/i walked the line"

Great vocals man, I really enjoyed this, and it sounds great on the uke!

  • haha, no time to waste. thanks!

  • Good Stuff!

  • thanks!

  • awesome!!! you sound really good and i love this song!!!!!

  • thanks for watching!

  • Sounds great, dude!

  • thanks for the feedback!

  • whoa! this is a kickin' ukelele version! Encore!

  • thanks!

  • thanks! yeah, now i have one uke with low G and one with high G. good to have both options.

  • This is great. Sounds like the way I imagine Woody Guthrie would have played it. I'd love to hear you do some Woody!!

  • thanks! i may have to try that sometime.

  • YEAH! GO RUSSELL!!!! this is good stuff.

    i love your tenor.

  • thanks fred. can't wait until the next uke meet! i'll bring the new tenor.

  • Way cool Russ! Sounds awesome. keep making videos!

  • thanks!

  • Alright!! Nicely done Russ. Picking pretty clean too, give us another one!!

  • thanks dude. more to come soon, i hope!
