@animalloverabh sorry, I haven't! I even couldn't read them lol! I just played intuitively after my guitar version, which starts with am, G, F, E, back to am or A. in the bridge there are additional C, G, dm and D. hope it helps, you will find that by listening! thanks for appreciation! ;o)
thanks so much Molly!! it's really a fantastic song, I feel it as a sort of true 60's evergreen, expressive, with timeless extraordinary lyrics. I "adapted" this from my guitar version, based on a simple "flamenco scaletta" which is fun to play too. always glad to see you there! ;o)
Probably one of the most heartfelt of your videos. Being around you when you perform this must be intense (although I gather you are on your own when you record!). Congratulations too on the piano...Thank you for sharing this Andreas!
hey tobee, my dear friend! thanks heaps for your wonderful comment! (my Aussie Kait always teaches me new words, lol). I'm totally in love with that song and tried to find a new form, without that dingaling an so on. I'm so surprised to almost find no covers of it on here! and it's true: live-listeners always make me nervous, lol! just their fidgeting souls... absolute stillness is the best condition to set a sound into... ;o)
That was great Andreas!! Beautiful heartfelt and moving performance! I felt it,your great vocals really make the song come alive my good buddy! :)) You say you're not a piano player? But you are! A fabulous one too! I wish I could play piano. :)) All the greats did, from John and Paul to Brian. Very nice beautiful song. I loved it! That was 35 attempts? lol you must have been tired. lol I know,I've done many takes too. You have a great style! Big thumbs up brother! :))
hey Rick, my wonderful buddy!! thanks so much for your very nice comment! you always spirit me up, lol! aww, hehe you're such a good musician you'd learn play piano in no time. I only did now and then, when I had access to a piano, I never owned one, it's a heavy thing. but I just got me a keyboard now. let's see... :) yeah, but these trials were spreaded over a half year, so it was fun to let it grow. and I guess next year it will be finished, haha! :)))
@kinkontroversy thanks so much kinko!!! ;) for some years I tried to create a good guitar version, but finally found a piano accompaniment fitting better (I guess piano is more dramatic). did you ever play it with guitar? and hehe: I'm sure with a little practizing you'd overtake my piano skills in no time, lol! gosh, I just realized this was written by David&Jonathan!!! ;o))
Yes it is a very beautiful song. And once again, those first thirty-four attempts were well worth your efforts. Such a passionate, deeply emotional performance of these wonderful lyrics. Lovely, lovely video...
I have to tell you, my friend. To honor your wishes that I not look to closely at your fingers, I had to close my eyes....because Andreas....your fingers were all I could see. ;)
@nllleonard LOL!!! never mind, in between I'm used to misspellings of my English speaking friends and don't pore for hours over dictionaries when there is "uninished" written ;)). but in fact it's astonishing how many write "here" when they mean "hear" and vice versa! cool! ;o)
@nllleonard hey Nancy, thanks soo much for your lovely thrilling comment! guess what: in between I found out that this song was written by David & Jonathan, not by or for Gene Pitney, as I thought before! he made it famous though! so unfortunately (for the Americans :) it's a rather part of the "British Invasion" too! but who cares? it's a wonderful song and I guess with take 100 I will have found the final form, lol!! and thanks for the fave!!! ;o)
