  • You have to collect each phone piece and drop it off at Elliot's house (the first square you start on). Then once all the pieces are assembled, E.T. will speak and spawn. Then you walk E.T. to his ship in the forest before it leaves again.

  • That voice scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. It still sounds spooky today, thanks to all the static. I guess Atari wanted to include digitized speech (cutting edge technology in 1982), but all it does is give you nightmares.

It's really a shame that 2600 ET got all the notoriety, because the Atari 800 version was really quite good. The city was huge for its time, the graphics were excellent, and the tension was really high when you were searching for ten phone pieces.

  • I actually have this cartridge, you really need a manual...

  • what music. i didnt even hear et speak either

  • LMAO!!!

  • the music scares me

  • I hope you had as much playing it as I had watching it.

  • I played this to death when I was little.

  • This is the way the 2600 version should have been

  • Definately. If Atari hadn't put so much pressure on Scott Warshaw, the 2600 version might have been like this.

  • In this game, Earthlings anal probe YOU.

  • This gmes suck

  • Lol, wtf is up with his voice. :D

  • It's being replicated by an 80s home computer maybe?

  • I was just kind of laughing at the sound of it, I understand with the console it wouldn't be a full voice over.

  • True. I'm just amazed it actually got close to sounding like him with the software limitaions.

  • I can't really remember his voice, it still sounds creepy though.

  • Hee, it plays the theme <3
