That is awesome! Inspiring me to work harder, I am only at 365 1rpm right now wanting to break that 400lb mark. Only criticism I had was the overextending on the lockout. Other than that starting posture excellent, and you didn't round your back at all. Great Lift! Keep up the good work!
@jasonaidancolin Thanks Jason! I was 47 years old in that video, and since than I had a magnificent knee injury that set me back immensely. I have been working my way back up too. I just recently started deadlifting 505lbs for six reps. About two weeks ago I deadlifted 555lbs for 1 rep. I was shocked, but now I have to do the assistance work to reach higher plateaus! I will! Keep at it man! All the best!
hope you're not hurt now. narrow your feet, never do them stop and go, and shrug your shoulders as the bar passes your knees. then you don't have to do such a dramatic and dangerous pelvic thrust to finish.
@jshealy Thanks for the advice! I'm not hurt now. I just recentlty fractured my toe, but I'm recovered! I'm working on conditioning myself back into shape. All the best to you! Feel free to comment anytime!
i believe that its a good lift, but you do not need to over extend after you've reached the top of the motion, it'll just increase your risk of a stress fracture in your vertebrae. Other than that, very impressive.
@herutatiff yeah im inching my way up, im doing the same competition again this year in November and gonna shoot for something in the upper 400's. i see this video is a few years old hows your dead going now?
@mtxewrestler That's good! I made this video when I was 47 yrs old. Shortly afterwards I suffered a very humbling knee injury, real bad. I recently started deadlifting and squatting 505lbs again for reps again. I'm still moving up the latter, but I'm confident that I will deadlifting over 600lbs soon and squatting close to it!!!! Oh, and just turned 51 on March 2nd...
@spawn039: Why apologize for something good. I use to do this same weight for six reps when I was younger. I recorded this video at the age of 47 years. I'm proud of myself, never took steroids or performance enhancing drugs. I'm 50 years old now and still doing it. My personal best is 700lbs. No one can beat me except me son...
Sorry to tell you but your lift isn't really impressive. A senior at school two years ago could deadlift 585lbs for two reps at 180lbs bodyweight. I'm sure he's above 600lbs by now and still weighs 50lbs less than you. But other than that good lift.
@herutatiff No problem man. I hate when I try dead lifting heavy I can hardly hold the damn bar, even with wraps and I can not lift that heavy. Damn little hands. I also weight the same. What do you take?
try RESETTING AFTER YOUR FIRST PULL (MAYBE 2 OR 3 SECONDS ) AND PULL AGAIN..WE ALL TEND TO LOOSE OR FORM WHEN WE WE JUST TOUCH AND GO..THEN IT BECOMES STREIGHT-LEGGED PULLS..VERY STRONG THOUGH .
nice lift man !! i'm a small guy about 5'5 175. i maxed at 300 lbs DL 10/04/09. i 'm hopiping to put on another 20lbs in the next year or so...my goal is a 465 DL before the end of 2009..
You actually have some advantages: Your youth and your height, other litfers may disagree. To me, height means that you can put on more mass than shorter people. Consistent training is important, smart and safe training is priceless. Read all you can about supplementation and sports nutrition, and try different routines to assist in taking you to the next level. If you want I can email you my routine that I penned that may be beneficial. In any event, all the best in your fitness goals-Peace!
Breed, thank you so much for your comments, much appreciated! I'm training real hard now to up my numbers, so look forward to future video posts on this page. Peace!
Impressive lift...your max has got to be around 700. Great lift for a bodybuilder, you should concentrate on powerlifting especially at your weight! In my video I borrowed the straps from my wife and yes I know its not a "real" deadlift...lol. Good job I wanna see your max!
The only thing that makes your lift not legit is you started from the rack and went down with the weight. The deadlift starts from the ground. But, the lift is impressive still and I commend your effort. I started training by doing powerlifting and fell head over heels for bodybuilding. Thank you for your comment. Best regards....
My friend, with your apparent ambition to improve on your lifts I'm sure you will achieve a lot. Remember this, you're 14: I started training at 26 and now I'm 48. You can go a lot furhter than someone like me, take your time and train safe and smart. Best regards to you!!!!!!!!!!!
47 !!! dam...
