@joemyersjr its just he prefers his fader reversed, its the same movement as using the up-faders. hamster style, named after the bullet proof scratch hamsters (quest, cue, eddie def, marz, eddie k)
you are a very skilled dj and i thank you for this tutorials, like somebody else said this are the best scratching tutorials on you tube and any where else congratulations and keep amazing us!
Damn...this technique is TOUGH! I been trying to get it down for months on end but I'm still nowhere near as fast or precise as Angelo. This dude got himself some serious SKILLZ! Peace out...DJTrueSoul.
hey dj angelo awesome tutorial but im having a problem for some reason when i try to do the scratch it sounds exactly like the two click flare has this ever happened to you?
I literally think there are some people who go around youtube disliking things just to be that way, you will notice these people generally alone in the world (Yes, it goes that deep).
Nice tut. brotha.. Can you please do one for us who cut hamster style. its waaaay harder for us without being able to use the force of our thumbs. Thanks
@cuttyb it's actually a bit easier to do hamster style, because you are going more towards the fader wall, and you can use your thumb more as a spring. but either way (regular or hamster), once you figure out a way for you to do them, they become really easy to get consistently. (i used to scratch hamster)
Hi, if I want to buy the same record with yours on ebay, whats the record's name? I mean the scratch one on your right hand side, its super seal###1?2?3?4?
is there any chance you could please do a more in depth video of the crab showing ways to perform it over a beat, i can make all the right noises but am having trouble gettin it to sound good over a beat.........nice one mate
Hey Angelo I love the videos they've helped me to make my scratches sound better but I have a question about the crab scratch. I scratch hamster style it's just easier for me but I'm finding that doing the crab hamster style is really hard any tips?
I scratch crab too and I just use my thumb as the spring to pop it back open. But I'm still having some trouble getting it to sound tight. Just my insight
Hi Angelo I'm from Europe .. I want to buy equipment and I dont have a lot of money for this stuff.Could I buy only one gramophone and mixer and still to do the scratching..And one more thing.. Where do you play the beat..?? Tnx
hey angelo, ive been thinking about getting that mixer youve been using in ur tutorials. looks great. would you recommend it with all the new mixers out today? would be a great help, thanks
Great video man. I've waited for this one. I have been watching all your tutorial and my skill has definitely improved. Are you going to do a tutorial on beat juggling soon?
yes it will. i bought a 100 dollar stanton table and a 200 dollar stanton table and a 60 dollar stanton mixer, and my setup works great! It may not be the greatest setup in the world, but it gets the job done.
i am scratching dince ´89 and i have met a lot of DJs in all this time. Most DJ did it but they couldn´t really explain what they do. DJ Angelo really broke the technique down like as detailed as i have never seen before!!! i bow before the master!!
dj angelo hope u dnt mind me asking but how many u been scratching?ur vids best about better than the $20 dvds in shop!much easier 2 understand!dj angelo legend
You break it down in great detail! I've been doing closed crabs over the years and wondered why my crabs been sounding so jagged and discontinuous while my other friends could crab so fluidly. I would try to crab faster but it didn't make a difference. Thanks for explaining this! My crabs are now sounding more like 3 click flares!!
Again a tutorial which describes the crab-stuff very good. I like your tutorials very much and looking forward to the next tutorial. Please make a tutorial on beat-juggling as well.
I 2nd that, I would love to see a beat juggling tutorial as I'm really struggling with the beat juggling side of things. Can't wait for the next video!!!
For all you guys that want a better fader but cant afford yo buy a new mixer, replace your existing fader with an "InnOfader" It would be the cheapest solution if they carry replacement faders for you mixer! The Fader is sick as hell too!!!
Man you are siccckkk. I really want to start all ths but if you buy a deck there's loads of other things you have to buy, if anyone knows any cost effective ways that would be really helpful.
im asking you because i respect your opinion, i have a pioneer djm 600 and the crossfader needs to be moved too far to knock it on and off for crab scratches. im looking to trade the mixer for a new scratch dedicated mixer, i like the look of the technics you use, what would you recomend?
Look at the RANE TTM56! Awesome scratch mixer, doesn't have the bells and whistles of the DJM600 in terms of EFX etc, but for cutting, you can't beat em!
man i'm jealous of those that can 4 finger crab cause my pinky finger has always been too goofy to pull it off. it travels too closely next to my ring finger to do anything.
im also a guitar player and what really helped me with my pinky was so called grip master. u can practice everywhere and the results are immediate. cheers
