  • @Merioc2k3 hahahah frustrated always say the same. In addition, all of them are many tributes to Hendrix, Page, Clapton, in some cases Holdsworth, DiMeola, Metheny, etc etc. But, guess who's missing? Guess who never make him tribute? Simple: They do not have the technique or the inspiration to make a tribute to the greatest among the great.

  • MORSE I THINK IS A GOOD GUITARIST,BUT I PREFER RITCHIE"S EXPLOSIVE PLAYING

  • Ah! I forgot Malmsteen haahahahah

  • hahahah PG, Becker, Friedman, Lane, Satriani, Vai, Petrucci, Sfogli, G. Guthrie and all of these never belong to the Morse School. And they all know it.

Please see and listen to Air on 6 String ... Do any of these all can play and compose in this way, using only the alternate picking, clean sound and no legato fags? I don't think so

  • @UpDownStroke Because we all know REAL musicians limit themselves to not using sweep picking, legato and dist, thus reducing the amount of sounds you can get out of your guitar.

    *sighs*

    Close-minded retard.

  • @ArpeggioFelatio Dude you're confused. An arpeggio has nothing to do with a technique. It is a group of notes played one by one through a scale ( notes of a chord ). This has nothing to do with how you play them.

  • lol duh ik he didnt sweep, as i commented earlier.

  • This is pretty awesome. But Marty an Jason did better arpeggios in go off imo. i see no swept arpegs here which sound beautiful. that sound comes from the keyboardist here

  • @MooneyToonS1000 He didn't sweep. All arpeggios that came from the guitar are alt picked.

  • @ArpeggioFelatio -- A triplet is a rythmic concept that can be played with ANY combination of notes. It's HOW the notes are played, not WHICH notes are played. An arpeggio is a combination of notes that make up a chord, i.e. - any chord that you play in some manner where the notes are picked separately (not strummed together) is an arpeggio -- regardless whether 'sweeped', slow or fast, in sequence or not in sequence, etc. It is about the NOTES played, not HOW they are played.

  • @ArpeggioFelatio You're right in a sense but he still plays arpeggios.

  • @ArpeggioFelatio There are actually a few arpeggios. He just doesnt do any sweep picking. Look into steve morse and you will see that he has a strange picking technique for arpeggios.

  • i play better with my tonante and a 505 zoom in a leacs amplifier with one hand on your butt morse

  • worst picking technique ever

  • yea this is very well the best solo ever

  • Blackmore forever....

  • wooow that was not clean at all .... never saw that guy before. might not check more :P

  • @math1st Steve Morse is the musician's musician. Listen to his work with the Dixie Dregs.

  • @ardnega loll actually i saw your vid and u need so more inspiration, go check guyz like jeff loomis or paul gilbert ........ they can teach u a lot and u will improve ur playing ... trust me u need it

  • @math1st I have been listening to PG since his Racer-X days but I am more into Shawn Lane and Jason Becker and Django Reinhardt and Pat Metheney. I just play a little guitar and I have never bragged about it so do not bring that to the discussion. Maybe you could be inspired to invest on a sound card or a better recorder.

  • @ardnega these were made for a friend, a had to pass them on youtube to put them on facebook, i dont care about having views here ......... i was just saying that pg can teach u a lot in his vids, becker cant coz he is dead ... u get it ?

  • @math1st Jason Becker is not dead!

  • @math1st pg can teach a lot. i did go through his speed picking vids back in the days. jason becker is not dead. shawn lane is. so just shred on.

  • @ardnega jason becker is not dead ... but beiing a vegetable or dead is the same, i cant be a teacher

  • @math1st jason becker is still making beautiful music if you haven't heard. he might be in a state where he is unable to move but you have got the definition of being in a vegetative state all wrong. yes you definitely can't be a teacher.

  • @ardnega Lol thats hilarious. A guy trying to tell you about Paul Gilbert and Jeff Loomis when you already know Shawn Lane.

  • Whatever,he is for real..

  • Overdue for a G3 line up.

  • best guitarist alive PERIOD!

  • omfg i wanna do this harmonic 0:45

  • That was fucking epic.

  • he's a great guitarist and what a nice guy...very humble..

  • why did i have to get stuck with the generation that got justin beiber and soulja boy?!

  • @mightymoshinskoolkid

    i feel ya

im not the best guitarist but just cause of those two fuck ups

    i hope i get signed

  • @therealjesus92 too true man. good luck with your career, if they can get big, you can too :)

  • Great!!

  • That was wonderful.

  • isnt that the deep purple keyboardist??

  • @SvennePung

yeah, that's because this is with Deep Purple!! :D

  • love his playing hate his distortion

  • HES TO MUCH INFLUENCED by satriani dont you tink??? its souns much like sach but morse´s way to play rules

  • @ILOVEAYANAMI lol influenced by satriani??? actually satriani admits that morse was one of his influences

  • @underoath115 plzzz kill my selve sorry T_T

  • @ILOVEAYANAMI :D bang

  • @ILOVEAYANAMI No. Good sounds like good and nobody else!

  • @ILOVEAYANAMI wth are you mumbling about??

  • very good ,harmonics, tapyngs, the eletric guitar is very crazy....

  • It's known that Steve prefers to pick his notes arpeggio's aren't swept for everyone I'm glad he's not A typical that's his greatness imo.

  • This is sooo awesome!!!!

  • deep purple excelent!

  • What do you mean, where are the arpeggios?! There are only like a squillion of them, you dumb-ass! Maybe they arent big cheezy swept ones, but these ones are actually harder to perform, and articulate! Steve Morse is a friggin' Legend!

  • where are the arpeggios !?

  • there are

  • it wasnt mega

  • arpeggios aren't only sweep man

  • wonderfull stuff :)

  • Great! ;)

  • If only I could turn the comments off permanently!

Agreed the notion of there being a "best" is childish if you are talking about anything to do with the arts/music.

  • Nobody can be first or seconde in creativity

  • Everybody here STOP! THINK! Q: Do we agree on ONE thing?that this guy is in a class of his own???.....GOOD! now, is he the greatest of ALL THAT EVER WAS? hmmmmmmmmmm...Maybe. This is a TALL order-to say someone is as good as ALL OF HIS PEERS. How about: Steve Morse is the best at this style of luthier playing.

  • actually there is a best in some things, not guitarists because people like different things but in stuff that you can dominate in, you are the best , like for exsample rank: #1 = the best and it cant be because someone says there rank #1 or that would be an oppinion but like a game or a sport, depending on you you beat and if anyone can come close to you, that is being the best or a majority of disicion, there can be a best guitarist, but there would have to be majority of votes for that person

  • No!!! Fact is fact!! This site is called YouTube you can argue, but you would be wrong!! Like the song says"You gota stand for somethig or your fall for anything!"

  • steve morse probably is the best guitarist. He is more well rounded than all the others probably cuz he studied music for 20 some odd years!

  • there is no such thing as a "best" guitarist

actually, there is nothing that is "best"

    "best" is just an opinion

    you have a favorite guitarist

    i have a favorite guitarist

but there's no reason in arguing about it either

arguing over opinions is how wars are started

    peace

  • amen

  • @DrNubb123 This means War.

  • @DrNubb123 actually you're wrong ...... there is better guitar players than others, but the ones u like is ur opinion ............instead jeff loomis is miles in front of most guitars players but u might not love is music .... stilll he is technically WAY better then morse in that case

  • @math1st I think your wrong.morse broke his arm a while back.as far as the best goes u have to be the best to know the best.morses old stuff from the 80s shows a physical power that few musicians will ever come close to.look up rockin guitars.a song he did way back.

  • @diagreen i agree with u, but my point is i wouldnt pay to see what he plays in that video, thats it, his shredding was really sketchy

  • @DrNubb123 mmh i think you could actually base a religion on that haha. i think there is a "best" guitar player as there is a "best" everything. but nobody may tell who or what it is because nobody knows the criteria for it. opinion and actual best are two different things. but thats just my opinion :d

  • @DrNubb123 So Right! the differences in approach, style and phrasing is what makes each artist unique.

  • ...lol is this a joke?

  • This is Steve Morse. The Best Guitarist?? Maybe not. Think again dude. How about Paul Gilbert? John Petrruci? Steve Vai? Yngwie Malmsten? Eric Johnson? Jimi Hendrix? Brian May? And a lot lot lot lot more... How's that? Think again. Maybe he is ur idol or whatever u call that. But definitely, he's not the "Best Guitarist"... I think my opinion is right. You cannot tell who is the BESt of them all.

  • well maybe he is not THE BEST but you can definetly count him among these guitarists

  • This is the first time i'v seen this guy but he's cool. I really like his style.

  • Before 0:44 he looks boths sides and I think he is fighting with one of his pedals effects (??)

He is a genius, only one second and resolve the situation STARTING TO PLAY !!! (the loop effect was in the back so no problem!)

STEVE MORSE IS TEH BEST GUITARRIST ON EARTH.

    Long live to HIM!!!

    Cheers

    R

  • Steve Morse needs to go back to the Dregs and revive that whole thing. Never liked him in DP. Especially after seeing Blackmore,Lord,Paice,Gillan, and Glover.

  • ritchie blackmore was in deep purple much better.

  • Ritchie Blackmore was Ritchie Blackmore but you can't deny Steve Morse is a genius!

  • I am more interested in Steve's Artificial Harmonics...

It sounds very different than picking the the notes..

  • cascades im not your lover solo !

  • Screw off jerk they both are amazing don't you dare tell Steve Morse to fuck off he is a genius! So shut up!

  • I said that he is a great guitarist and that I don't dislike him asshole

  • You said fuck morse so I thought you didn't.

  • read the whole comment!..i said it just to make a rime but I don't hate him or things like that...I like him as a guitarist but when I say that I love deep purple I mean deep purple with lord and blackmnore....I like also coverdale and hughes but mark II will be always the best

  • Yea that I can understand the original Deep Purple's line up was amazing I guess each line up has it's own thing pretty much... My bad man.

  • no problem

  • Drummer = Sexy mutha F$%&er!

  • hueuhaheuah

  • @ZombieOwen23 what's wrong??

  • He is great, but it isn't appregio (is it?)

  • Its actually spelled arpeggio. I am so glad I found God (John Petrucci) otherwise I would've never found Steve Morse, who is equally incredible.

  • Steve Morse is God... and Petrucci his son.

  • Comment removed

  • it is.

  • he IS my guitar hero

  • Steve is always steve and he kicks ass evrytime you hear him.

  • steve morse es el rey

  • steve morse is fucking awsome!

  • DEEP PURPLE!!

  • This is awesome, reminds me of Tull in a way

  • its your plain opinion, not a musicians opinion. so be a little more respectful when you speak Kid..

  • oh yeah? what do you know about music what is shit or what is not?

  • the drummer made me laugh inside

  • jajjajaja ostia como me molan las poses del bateria es auténtico ;)

Steve Morse es mas ke grande

  • hell yes for steve morse.

it's sad how he doesn't get such wide acclaim like the more blatant guitarists of today do.

  • yeah, Steve Morse rocks!

  • thats cool but there were no real mega arpegios there, if you want to see some real motherfucking monster arpegios look for jason becker

  • Is that a Musicman he's playing on?

  • yes indeed, I like it :p

  • go steve!!

  • such an amazing player

  • hah very nice hes doin a harp harmonic pluck thingy haha i dunno wat its called ... it actually not as hard as it looks just pluck harmonics with ur thumb and index finger with ur right hand 12 frets above wher ur left hand is hitting the notes..... if u relly want to learn this techinique watch Tommy Emmanuel video lessons he teaches this technique and is the best user of it ive seen so far

  • Steve was ahead of his time in the 70's. He was doing this stuff back then. I saw him in concert and it was great until they had backfire of a smoke effect. They had to stop the show.

  • can someone explain gow it´s done?

  • what's he doing at 1:00?

  • harmonic with the right hand, and a little bit of bends and slides as well, great player, great techniq

  • He is doing plucked harmonics with his middle finger plucking and his index finger directing the harmonics. Dave Weiner does an example on his Riff Of The Week segment.

  • hes so damn wild i love his style hes unique as a mother fucker

  • cala boca isso awe nen e arpejo seu trouxas quen foi o idiota q fes esse video

  • Primeiro: aprenda a escrever. Vc parece um analfabeto - além de mal educado. Segundo: você nem sabe o que é um arpegio, né?

  • Gente como você às vezes me faz ter vergonha de ser brasileiro. Mas só às vezes.

  • Well Done.

  • Steve Morse rules!

  • i like his guitar stuff especially the arpeggio part-great!Which band is this?

  • Deep Purple

  • i have a mega woody watching this,

  • working on this exact solo witch ill try and do for a gig with my very own steve morse guitar, but to play it this smooth and with steve amazing palm muting and full control with his will be the biggest challenge ever for me!

  • he's just like a more tasteful from of Paul Gilbert...what I mean to say is better!

  • My friend Dylan G. can do stuff like that and so can I.

  • steve morse would rape the shit out of you and your friend dylan g I'm sorry to say

  • Not cool man! He's a good guitarist but I don't want to be any more closer than just fellow guitarists with this cowboy.

  • I don't quite understand what you mean but I doubt you or dylan G would be able to play with the accuracy and fluidity of steve morse regardless of what you think of his music. like to see some videos of you playing though, respect for django

  • Eh, he's okay, I don't care for his guitar, but thanks for the respect bro.

  • I don't even like his music that much to be honest but hes amzingly skilled for sure.

  • Yo.

  • omfg

  • killer harmonics at the beginning!

  • steve morse!!! deep purple!!

  • conce de hay soy

  • dios..

  • i wanna play like him... i play like ynwgie... i play arpeggios from hell, whish liszt - trans siberian orchestra... but playing like this man or joan becker... is a lot different y would like to play like him! sooo i'm gonna start studing jajaja
