This guy gets it, key word here is "Americans" you would think after 9/11 people would be more united. It didn't take long for everyone to fall back into the usual patterns of whats in it for me. The politicians on both sides of the aisle pander to these various groups and continue to follow the same patterns in Washington which is putting everyone else a head of its citizenry. We are quickly reaching the point of needing humanitarian aid in this country given the current economic conditions.
All liberals who ignorantly accuse us tea partiers of be racist are FUCKING SCUM! My best friend and fellow tea partier is in fact an african american
I love the fact that she laughed at the fact that a Black man dared t ocall "White Conservatives" HIS PEOPLE. I got news for you lady; I'm Black and I consider Christian people of all color, hard-working people of any race, people of served in the military like I did MY PEOPLE all day, every day. And if your Liberal Arts professors back at college have a problem with that, remind the bozo who is paying his salary and keeping this country free and productive - not him or her!
@RepublicansAreNazis If you knew your history, you'd know that Hitler and Mussolini were the progressives of their day. FDR wrote admiringly of Mussolini. Margaret Sanger and George Orwell were great admirers of HItler. Remember Hitler was the Leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party. Before you go off with the pat answer that he highjacked the party take a look at their platform and his accomplishment. He was anti-christian and radical environmentalist to boot.kinda like u LOL
The Liberal Demo craps would say to the guy in the video
" why are you such a rotten disgusting House Nigger ? you are an Uncle tom, you are taking Order from your Uncle Whitey ! ALL black people are supposed to vote and think alike on everything, if you betray us and go against us we're gonna play our pet race card on you too, we will label you a sell out in an attempt to discredit ur mssg '
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT More racist lies. NOBODY says blacks have to "vote and think alike on everything," but it IS against racial justice to support the tea party corporation.
"Race card" is a racist lie, there is no "race card." Racism is real, not a card game. And yes, blacks putting their own greed ahead of justice for all ARE sell-outs. There's no credibility to "discredit" behind the tea party's bullshit.
It IS wrong, and worthy of criticism, for wealthy blacks to put their own greed ahead of racial justice by voting Republican. It's not "voting and thinking alike on everything."
There is still no "race card," that's a sick made-up term implying racism is just a game, it doesn't really exist.
@PersephonesFear First off, EVERY KKK person left is Republican, and tea party supporter.
The idea that the systematic racism of the hard right is excused because of their support for a token is pathetic. It doesn't make racism go away to support one black person who happens to OPPOSE every move towards racial and economic justice POSSIBLE. Cain is like a few other right wing blacks, who get filthy rich and care only about their money, not justice. They're very few and far between.
Whats ' pathetic ' is that you are an intellectual lightweight and an uneducated utter asinine Moron who can only sit back like a spineless coward and play your stupid Lame " race card " on every issue.
You are a disgrace and an embarrassment to the very phrase ' American citizen ' , Keep Playing your Liberal ' race card ' , im sure it will re elect Obama , you naive idiot !
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Hilarious. You repeat the same brainless racist bullshit over and over, and claim I'm an "intellectual lightweight"? Intellectual does not mean "I listen to and believe Mike Savage's bigoted bullshit." It doesn't mean "call fighting for equality a 'race card' just like the Klan does."
YOU are a disgrace to what this nation stands for, which is equality and justice, things you're fighting against in favor of greed and bigotry.
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Liar, I've not said ONE WORD that is REMOTELY racist, and you damn well know it. Where is this "racism" of mine, jackass? WHERE???
You think supporting one black guy who OPPOSES every single move for racial justice in this nation means you're not a racist, you're off your rocker. Cain's support is FULL of racists, they like those "good negroes" not those "uppity" types.
so far we have about $ 5,000 in a collection fund from our Members that will go into handing out Anti Obama dvds, audio cds, Printing pamphlets , going door to door , hosting rallies , events etc.
Our goal is to have about $ 10,000 by the summer to go out there ALL over PA and hit the streets with our Mssg. that Obama is a dishonest phony con artist and a fraud ! He is Dangerous to our nation
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Great, your clown act will sure move 10 or 20 votes, the hate and lies you spread will only show you care more about your party than your nation.
Obama isn't a "con artist," he's just another lame centrist DLC Clintonian half-assed Democrat, when the nation needs a real liberal, which we've not seen since FDR.
Your cult is far more dangerous to America than Obama.
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT There's been nothing "dishonest" pointed out here, except that he ran as a liberal and governs as a centrist. This brainless bullshit of him being "elitist" or "arrogant" has zip to do with being a good or bad president.
I do have my facts straight, moron. Obama's policies are NOT liberal, are NOT far left, and have ONLY failed because they AREN'T liberal, liberal policies ARE in the interest of the average American. You are AGAINST the average American, workers, the poor.
actually its the reverse, He ran in 08 as a Centrist, but he governs as a vile Radical Liberal Anti American Traitor .
He visited my town of Scranton, PA today. VERY low turn out to see him speak, Most people where i live are disgusted at him and feel as i do that hes a total fraud and a sleazy con artist . Next year he WILL lose the PA electoral votes , count on it
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT What an incredible idiot you are. NO, dumbshit, he ran as a liberal, and governs like a moderate.
Where is this "radical liberal" policy?? WHERE???? He's done NOTHING liberal. He's supported centrist policy, given us centrist judges, where is ANYTHING "radical"?
You're allowing right wing nutjobs to fill your brain with lies, and have no idea what reality is.
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Lie. There's nothing remotely "anti-capitalist" or "anti-business" about Obama or the EPA, they're not "killing jobs," corporate greed is.
Uneducated? Again, show me ONE WORD I've said to be untrue. I'm perfectly aware of what the EPA is, and how even the most moderate moves to protect the environment are opposed by the far right and clowns like yourself.
@PersephonesFear Liar. The "theory" that he was born in Kenya is viciously racist. If Barack Obama were named "Ted Horner" and white, nobody would question it. His birth, and Christian faith, are questioned ONLY because he is black.
And there is FAR more than that going on within the tea party. They've had major leaders with a history of racist comments, and the whole purpose behind it is racist.
Comparing Obama to Hitler isn't racist, just incredibly stupid.
PLEASE by all means try to use that to re elect Obama, im sure the Intellectually weak, lame pathetic worn out Liberal ' race card ' will be effective this time !
Just get right up in everyones face who disagrees with Obama and start SCREAMING Racism at the top of your Liberal Lungs, its a guaranteed way to ensure Obama loses.
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT There is no "race card," that is a vile, racist term. Racism isn't a card game, it's real. That Obama has been cowardly and weak in defending civil rights is obvious, throwing people like Van Jones, Rev. Wright, Shirley Sherrod and Skip Gates under the bus so he can still be OK with white racists is a disgrace.
It's bullshit to claim everyone who disagrees with Obama is called a racist. It's a lie.
And at least make up your own lies instead of repeating hate radio nazis.
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT No, thanks. I've seen the hard right's vile, racist attacks on the President, that is NOT a "great documentary" and if it's "indisputable" I'm the Easter Bunny. These Alex Jones cultists are too hilarious. Indisputable? In what universe?
I would say as a good start a "Real Black Man" NOT be 50% caucasian like the Failed NOBAMA...no wonder he turned into such a sell-out for those White Communist Democrat Devils. Black folk are not COMMUNISTS...my God, that's who these people are; they've said so, and they are attempting to enslave all of us with their promises of East Street. They are USING YOU! White Communist Democrats don't love you! WAKE UP!!!
@oramikleepunk NBC isn't remotely liberal, nor is the reporter, and telling the truth doesn't make on "racist." Of all the KKK's scumbag tactics, this one--call anyone who oppose racism a "racist"--is the lowest.
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT First off, idiot, being a Democrat and being liberal are two vastly different things. Obama is a Democrat, of course. He is not a liberal, and neither is NBC. YOU are the one guzzling Koolaid, this pathetic myth of "liberal bias" in the mainstream media was a lie when it was cooked up 40 years ago to try to cover the corruption of Agnew and Nixon, and that clowns STILL believe it is truly pathetic. The EVIDENCE shows ZERO "liberal bias" in the mainstream media.
you and Obama both are classic hate filled angry vile liberal DEMO CRAPS. We here in the PA tea party will do everything we possibly can to make sure Obama next year loses our PA electoral votes, whoever wins PA and OH will win the election .
This summer i and Hundreds of Others in our Northeast PA tea party will be working HARD and long hrs to defeat this idiot fraud Obama
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Lie, I'm not remotely "hate-filled," Obama isn't a liberal, and it's hysterical hypocrisy to talk about "hate" then say "democraps", yeah, you're really issues based and non-hateful. Your tea party is a fraud, a front for big money fascists who care more about profits than human life.
I can't wait to see you "working hard," because when you run into real citizens instead of your fellow Koolaid drinkers, you're going to have a lot of doors slammed in your face.
@PersephonesFear Youre ignoring my questions so I guess that means you dont have a reasonable response. So, Im gonna say goodbye to you and get ready for my Eagles to beat the Giants tomorrow night. Goodbye.
Sen Byrd made racist comments to his dying day - called 'the conscience of the senate' by other dems. Williams was -kicked out- of the tea party federation for his racism. Davenport showed a picture of Obama as a monkey in a private email, 100s of such pics were made of Bush! Biden, Jessie Jackson, Reid..should we judge ALL democrats because some make racist comments? (Downgrade cheering was for wake up call to congress, tea party said it would happen if spending not stopped).
@PersephonesFear pathetic. What "racist" comments did Byrd make to his dying day? Williams was "kicked out" only AFTER his racist past became public knowledge, and there are plenty more examples.
You cannot be so STUPID as to think showing a white man as a monkey and a black man as a monkey are comparable.
Jesse Jackson said one WORD that was inappropriate DECADES AGO and has apologized for it. Comparing this to the SYSTEMATIC racism of the right is just desperate flailing.
If anyone takes away your ' race card ', you have NOTHING. thats you Uneducated fools have. Fact is the reason you play this idiotic ' race card ' is its an excellent diversion tactic to hide the fact that you are intellectually deficient in being able to provide any argument for your Demented Liberalism based on substance.
so like an intellectual coward, you pull out your ' race card '
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT More lies. There is no race card. I'm "uneducated"? Show evidence of ONE WORD I've said being untrue.
There is nothing BUT substance to the liberal argument. The right is based in hate and greed nothing else. There's no "substance" to equality and justice? To protecting the environment and educating our kids?
You need to grow a brain and stop parroting hate radio bullshit.
And you need to watch your ass if you want to call people "coward," the shoe fits you perfectly.
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT No, I've seen all the right's sleazy lies. There's plenty to criticize Obama for, but this conspiracy theory horsecrap is more dishonest than 50 Barack Obamas.
you ARE an uneducated liberal asinine idiot and a Moron who has no common sense or Logic behind your positions and WE the american people will defeat Mr. Hussein Obama .
i will guarantee you this, he will Lose PA next year, we in the Northeast PA tea party will make sure of that ! count on it bud , We will be strong, United , well funded and ready for battle by the summer
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Uneducated? Hardly, and since you've YET to show one word I've said to be untrue (unlike your sick lies) that's awfully far-fetched.
It's telling that even the attack dogs of Rovian GOP gutter politics said the racist habit of using Obama's middle name was scummy and they stopped doing it. You do NOT represent the American people, you represent hard right bigots and corporate rule.
The tea party is a joke, already fading from what tiny significance it ever had.
As late as 2005, Byrd described the KKK as "upstanding people" who never engaged in/promoted violence against blacks/others.
Or Joe Biden: "...you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy...that's a storybook, man."
Also, political jabs don't become more or less racist when skin color is diff.
The fact you think there IS a difference shows you are focused on the color of skin. Aren;t all men equal?
@PersephonesFear First is a bald-faced lie, Byrd did NOT say this. It's fiction.
The Biden comment was poorly worded, but nowhere close to "racist."
And you bet your LIFE it become FAR less racist. A white person being compared to a monkey and a black person being compared to a monkey are NOT the same, and it's insanely racist to claim they are equally offensive.
All men are SUPPOSED to be equal, in our society they are NOT, which is why we DO have to focus on race and fix the problem.
@PrisonerNumber9653 He didn't 'say' it, he 'wrote' it. It's in his memoirs from 2005, for all the world to read. Biden: There have been plenty of 'mainstream black politicians', but only President Obama fit his view of 'bright and clean and nice-looking and articulate'? Was he implying an imaginary standard for blacks in politics to meet?
And if it is wrong to compare a black man to a monkey, then it is equally wrong to compare a white man to a monkey, because they are both human.
Heres an email i got last nite from a Liberal Democrat Proving who the REAL racists are
" You support Herman Cain ? are you Crazy, that phony is Nothing but a big dumb House Nigger, a classic Uncle tom sell out, The Republicans let that Gorilla out of his cage to try to prove they aint Racist, its bs, they outta send that ignorant Nigger back to Africa to go chase Elephants with a ring in his nose '
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT LOL!! Yeah, I bet you did. I call bullshit. This email doesn't exist, and it if DID it did NOT come from a liberal. You're lying. Again.
Our Northeast PA tea party by the summer will have close to $ 10,000 to spend on our Anti Obama efforts , we are going to go all over the state of PA , we have close to 400 dedicated loyal hard working Members, and knock on doors, hand out dvds, audio cds, pass out articles etc. and Do everything we can to Make sure Obama loses PA.
We are going to defeat this Radical Anti American con man
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Spend away. People with a brain know he's nowhere close to radical, isn't the slightest bit anti-American, and the only "con" is claiming he is a liberal.
@PersephonesFear You are now officially busted as a bald-faced LIAR.
You said Byrd said this in TWO THOUSAND AND FIVE.
In his book, he in FACT says he thought they were "upstanding people" when he joined the Klan, OVER SIXTY YEARS PRIOR. He admitted DECADES ago it was totally wrong.
I'm aware of Biden's quote, which AGAIN was poorly worded but nowhere CLOSE to racist.
And it remains a despicable and racist LIE to claim calling a white person a monkey is the same as a black person.
Just from talking to you, im even MORE motivated to rally against Obama this spring and summer ! Thanks, you've helped inspire me to even greater ambition, ill make sure we raise $ 15,000 from our Members to help get the word out ALL over PA
ill knock on every door in PA if i have to, i give you my word,
OBAMA WILL LOSE MY HOME STATE OF PA, WE'RE NOT GONNA LET HIM HAVE OUR VOTES
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT -You white supremacists really hate Obama the Tea Party even pays money to sellout blacks to defend their white racism that's how the Tea Party covers up their white racism by using Paid Token Blacks to defend the Tea Parties White Power Racism
The Tea Party only likes blacks who hate their own black race but you hate any black person who has Black Pride
Have you Noticed besides their Pathetic Liberal ' race card ' these far left liberal morons have Nothing ?
The reason they use their worn out " race card " to defend Obama is they know they have Nothing else, Liberals cry and Scream Racism like yelling out Fire in a crowded theater, they know the ONLY way they can win is to try to verbally harass , bully and Intimidate everyone
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Nobody has "noticed" this because it's a vile lie. There is no "race card," racism isn't a card game, it's reality. And it's LIGHT YEARS from the only reality we're pointing out. I'm so sorry you KKK bastards are tired of the TRUTH of racial injustice being pointed out. It's not "bullying" or "harrassment" to tell the truth.
And the far left is NOT defending Obama. Obama isn't a liberal at all, the far left disagrees with Obama FAR more than we agree with him.
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Yes, racist liars do have the ability to post their bullshit on YouTube, like the 9 year old with her cat videos, how very proud you must be.
i once had a Lunatic Liberal Demo Crap actually tell me that because i didnt believe in Man made global warming , and that i support throwing out our current Tax code and going with a flat or National sales tax system to replace it, that my views are " racist "
lol , no doubt its a fact, Modern Liberalism is a Mental disorder , its totally asinine and irrational on every level
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Your views are racist on taxes. Not believing the PROVEN FACT of man-made global warming only makes you an idiot. The idea that the wealthiest Americans should pay much less and the poor (predominantly black thanks to our racist system) should pay much more is vile and immoral...and racist.
That you parrot a racist hate radio Nazi with the vile lie that it's a "mental disorder" to give a shit about equality and justice proves yourself irrational and asinine.
I've talked with the brothers at Occupy Philly, if you think all Pennsylvanians agree with your selfish bigoted bullshit you couldn't begin to be more out of touch with reality.
you mean the uneducated foolish Morons at Occupy Philly ? You dumb stupid buffoon ! Of course Philly is Liberal , it has been for a long time and always will be. i never talked about Philly, im talking about NORTHEAST PA which is where im at, you stupid idiot, Philly is south PA, you dont even know what you're talking about lol
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT There's nothing "uneducated" or "foolish" about Occupy. And I'm very well aware of where Philadelphia is located, and it's in the same state as the racist rednecks of the far right in your little dittohead paradise.
Philly is Liberal and always votes Demo crap, but Western PA near Pittsburgh is very consevative and always vote Republican. so they usually cancel each Other out every national election . Its swing areas like Northeast PA that determine PA electoral votes , so that makes where i live 1 of the biggest Pivotal areas that will decide who wins PA .
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT They only "cancel each other out" because of the right's constant attacks on voting rights. The racist lynching of ACORN, "Voter ID" laws, Florida 2000, the right is as opposed to blacks voting as the Klan.
@PrisonerNumber9653 #1 Personaly charity outrips government charity two to one, and america is by far the most 'generous' nation. #2 The top 5% actually INCREASED their share of taxes/government revenue under the Bush Taxes. More people joined the upper bracket too. (overall loss due to the M.C cuts though). #3 If all the money in the world was redistributed right now, everyone would get a whole $9,000! It's better to grow economies/teach business than it is to equalize down to poverty for all.
@PersephonesFear Why you think charity "outstrips" public action is beyond me, it in fact doesn't come even vaguely CLOSE to meeting the need.
The US is not vaguely CLOSE to the most generous nation in the world. That we have 46 million in poverty in our nation, and give a very LOW amount of our GDP in international aid is telling, as is the political strings we attach to that small amount of aid.
No, more people cannot join the top 5%. It''s still 5%.
@PersephonesFear Where you got this "9,000" nonsense is a total mystery, especially given the amount of PROPERTY involved, not merely money. The LAST thing we need to do is follow the hard right's lies of "growing economies" meaning "give it all the big business, and it'll magically trickle down" which DOES NOT WORK. This vile lie that equality will mean "poverty for all" is beyond ridiculous, it most certainly will not.
@PrisonerNumber9653 The numbers do not include property or other hard assets, just money stock. (A few places have done this, I assume is 60$ trillion world moneystock divided by 6.8Billion people). I haven't seen a property study, which is a much harder task to determine/enact. (1/8 car per person?) I think you can get about $25,000 per person, not bad, if you include all the financial assets of the world (including stocks/bonds/etc), but this will only work one time.
@PersephonesFear It will "only work one time" assumes the US never again produces anything, grows anything, manufactures anything, creates anything. That is of course an absurd assumption.
You are very right in implying that it's a tremendously complicated issue, it is. How specifically to work out things is going to be a real challenge.
But decent people SHOULD agree that what we have now is nowhere even close to as things should be. Not even close.
@greyeyed123 It's more than a representative democracy - that's only part. Those representatives must also 'rule by law' to be a republic (ie, our constitution). So, its not just a majority vote by our elected representatives, which would afford us little more protection against mob rule or special interests than a direct democracy would. The problem is when government goes OUTSIDE those laws, or ignores ones it deems inconsequential. (e.g. executive exemptions to following the constitution...)
@PersephonesFear I only vaguely remember the conversation we were having from months ago, and skimmed a little of it here to find out what you were responding to...and still only have a slightly better than vague idea.
What, exactly, are you saying is unconstitutional, that the representatives in our representative democracy are going "outside" of? And if we have a disagreement about what is "outside" the constitution, how does the constitution suggest that disagreement be settled?
@PrisonerNumber9653 One elementary public school bans voluntary christian prayer at recess, but gives muslims an extra recess to pray. I faced rel. suppression through my schools (even held after class a couple times for legally attending an off site religious class, or questioning evolution!), & other such. Congress had church sessions in the cap. buil. right after the 1st amendment, Public officials used to freely act/express faith, upheld by the supreme court as cons. until the 1900's.
@PersephonesFear Lie. It is obviously unconstitutional to ban voluntary prayer. There is ZERO religious supression of Christians happening, ZERO.
Public officials STILL freely express faith--most of it hypocritical, phony acts. Nobody EVER said they couldn't express their faith, or that school kids couldn't. What the right wants is for their narrow, bigoted form of Christianity to be forced on others.
@PrisonerNumber9653 It IS obviously unconstitutional. Yet, its not infrequent. (eg Santa Fe Ind. SD v. Jane Doe, though school policy said students could speak freely, the supreme court bans all student initiated prayers as 'unconstitutional'. Oregon vs. Smith decided the establishment clause was meaningless if a religious practice was opposed to a government law (In that case, Native americans who used Peyote in sacramental ceremonies where the use of peyote was an 'illegal substance') Etc).
@PersephonesFear It is VERY infrequent. The extremely rare cases of prayer outside the classroom being inappropriately interfered with, because of an administrator or teacher who doesn't understand the law, get massively blown out of proportion by right wing hate groups, desperate to push this meme of "Christians being persecuted," a ridiculous falsehood. Harassment of religious minorities is a major problem, for Christians, not really.
@PrisonerNumber9653 I experienced it myself. 1st grade - indian spiritual rituals taught in class 2nd - held in at recess for attending out-of-school Bible class. 3rd, held after class for 'questioning' evolution (asking 'where did the matter in the sky come from? to the teacher meant I was 'trying to bring up God'). HS -school administration would laugh at sexual/rel. harassment reports I filed and turn the report info over to the offenders (a federal crime), who would then retailiate. Etc.
@PersephonesFear 1st, what idiocy. This was NOT promoting religion, it was EDUCATION. 2nd is getting bullshit called on it. Either a lie or there's far more to the story. Did you miss a class for this "bible study"? 3rd, there's nothing remotely Christian in questioning evolution, nor is it appropriate for a student at any level to get into an argument with a teacher or try to goad her into turning a public school classroom into a right wing attack on scientific FACT.
@PrisonerNumber9653 Class participation in Indian spiritual rituals is not education, unless Christian communion would be 'education' too? 2nd - Yes, I legally missed a class, its called "Release Time" - students may go off campus 1 hour/week to attend religious study. 3rd grade - It was the first lecture I had heard on evolution, and I was asking her legitimate questions. I asked her where animals came from/where sea life came from/where matter in the sky came from - based on her responses.
@PersephonesFear Of course learning about spiritual rituals in other countries IS education. They are NOT praying, they're learning how OTHERS pray. No, taking communion is NOT education, there's not anyone in the US that doesn't know how that works.
Again, I call BS on three, you are in a class to LEARN, not browbeat the teacher. You came in with propaganda and an agenda to wreck the learning of everyone else in the class. You were there to tear down real science and replace it with Genesis
@PrisonerNumber9653 Learning about spiritual rituals is one thing. Class PARTICIPATING in them is another. (IE drumming in time to the heartbeat of the earth, renacting spirit myths) . And I had no 'agenda' other than learning. I read encyclopedias for fun back then (I still do) and would usually ask many questions in class, which the teacher -appreciated- normally. She -assumed- I was trying to bring God into it - I was quite startled. And one learns by asking questions on difficult areas!
@PersephonesFear No, it actually ISN'T. It's an EDUCATIONAL activity, not a religious one. To claim your agenda was learning is a preposterous LIE, you don't learn by yelling leading questions at a teacher.
It's GREAT to ask difficult questions, my wife and I both got into all kinds of trouble as kids for doing that, in church. But there's a DAMN good reason we don't allow religion to be promoted in the classroom.
You were asking "where do these come from" and not fishing for "God"??
@PrisonerNumber9653 She gave a very barebones outline of evolution which left many gaps. I raised my hand each time, waited until called, and politely asked my questions. I never mentioned/hinted at "God", nor was I thinking about the lesson in relation to God. I was clarifying an illogical lecture where she was talking about animals being born from different animals. From what I later learned of evolution, I am certain that she did not understand mutation & natural selection very well herself.
@PersephonesFear As for the high school stuff, again I call bullshit. You're leaving out the real story, you were NOT punished for reporting legitimate "sexual harassment", or "religious harassment." What were you REALLY busted for? What did the SCHOOL say was the problem? Because the hard right is propping up this whole cottage industry of filing phony reports like this, claiming that kids who harass gay students viciously and are punished are being "harassed for their faith", a blasphemous lie
@PrisonerNumber9653 My teacher actually broke down in tears during the after class session and said if I asked questions on evolution, the school could FIRE her if they thought she was bringing God into the classroom. I was my HS valedictorian and rarely ever got in trouble in school other than such instances. As for harassment: Used condoms put on my locker, sexual comments on my club sign-up sheets and to my face, class ostrazation, kicked (even in view of one teacher, who laughed at it), etc.
@PersephonesFear That a 3rd grader was having this kind of conversation is child abuse. You were brainwashed by parents with a political agenda. You were trying to con the teacher into talking about God, which is HORRIBLY inappropriate in a public school classroom, and your actions were incredibly un-Christian.
I'm against anyone being picked on in school, I'm far MORE against what one suspects led to this, which is spouting homophobia and bigotry. Some kids are picked on because they're snots
@PrisonerNumber9653 How was I trying to con the teacher? IWhile I had heard the term evolution before, I had never heard it explained prior to that (It was 3rd grade. The teachers were stunned I knew my times tables). The teacher didn't know the subject matter very well herself (as I picked up; later in life) which is probably why her explanation had so many holes. We could always ask questions in class, and I had never gotten in trouble before that for asking about explanation gaps.
@PersephonesFear The fact that this supposedly innocent line of questioning is WORD FOR WORD in line with the same schtick we get from the right wing in claiming Christians are being "persecuted" and griping about perfectly innocent lessons about cultures of other people could have lifted directly from a blast email from some hate group like Focus on the Family. They're not just "innocently seeking truth" they're trying to stop teaching of evolution in the classroom.
@porsche187 The republican party was founded to fight against slavery and for Freedom for All. You don't have to believe it, but that doesn't mean we won't die for people OF ANY RACE in this country, because we are all one part of One nation under God.
@flipgood89 The Dixiecrats returned in the majority to the Democrats by 1950, and remained democrats for state/local elections. Also, the democrats who filibustered the civil rights bill -remained- democrats! There were -some- Dixiecrats (not a majority, not 'all') who became dems and then GOP a DECADE later, when racial concerns had become -much less- of a political priority (and often switched their former views to fight lynching/the dem poll tax, eg Thurmgood!)
@flipgood89 Republicans have voted in the majority for every civil rights bill, and democrats in the majority against, both for voting, for minorities, and for women's suffrage (The republican's authored the 19th amendment).
slavery in DC: 99%RYES, 83%DNO Rep. 14th amend: 94%RYES, 100%DNO CivilRights1875: 92%RYES100%DNO Women'sSuffrage:D-defeat4times before election of R house/senate passes it, women'svote1919: ~85%RYES,~54%DNO
And so forth. What social progressions? Other than eugenics.
@mrknowitalllt1 Which is more important to you: an x-box to buy your vote, or freedom and liberty to chart your own course and be your own boss in life? The top 1% of taxpayers pay a third of all taxes - the top 5% half!! Minimum wage is a leading factor in youth unemployment (its set so high employers can't hire 1st time workers). Aspire upward, but realize its in steps - you don't become CEO overnight. Personal charity outstrips government 2 to 1! (I get $670/m, but am starting a business)
@PersephonesFear i can see that you have been busy on this site repping your party, but you can save your energy and effort for someone who agrees with you because i don't. you ppl say the same thing over and over again that it was the dems who started the kkk over 150 yrs. ago but i know for a fact that today, the kkk and the many other white supremist groups vote republican't because they know the repub$ think like they do, limit blacks so they can't be on our level of life and make sure ....
@PersephonesFear they don't get the opportunities we get here in america. you ppl make sure that blacks are out of work and out of income for their families and when they have no choice but to go on welfare then you call them lazy and worthless niggers, but if whites are on welfare then you say they're struggling in this bad economy. and don't act as if our Presidents skin color ain't an issue with you ppl because i hear your ppl refer to him as coon, nigger, monkey, and jigaboo, that your ppl.
@mrknowitalllt1 interesting observation. why is it when i see signs and advertisements for manuel labor everywhere (even great city and county jobs) in search for people, blacks don't apply. Most black people rather get something for nothing rather than work (i.e. welfare). Next thing you know, i see city and county workers laying out asphalt and sidewalks. I have only seen only 1 black guy working out there out of 30. Everyone else are either latinos or whites. I went up to these workers and...
@mrknowitalllt1 ...they told me that everyone gets paid the same ($25.00 and hour). so don't give me the "MEXICANS WORK FOR LITTLE MONEY" spiel. Only 1 black person applied for that particular job, even though the county made sure they advertised in black neighborhoods and businesses. So there you go... there were great opportunities for blacks to work and only one black applied.
@gcastro44 next time you speak out of turn try to think about what the message is being said. i'm not reffering to just any type of job where ppl with no education or intelligence can just walk in and get hired. don't get it twisted a job is a job in today's economy and i respect ppl who do work hard. but what i'm reffering to are the type of jobs that require real skills, knowledge, and education, in other words, white collar type jobs and careers. these are the jobs being refused to qualified
@gcastro44 ...blacks because the white establishments don't want blacks to advance the way you whites do here in america. and as for welfare get your facts straight because whites are just as much on it as blacks, but the your white propaganda in this country is only focusing on blacks to make it seem that they're the ones ruining americas economy. i know you're going to deny it because we all know that whites are pure and proper. so save your energy.
@mrknowitalllt1 If I have this correctly: A: "Black people are all liberal for their own welfare, and conservative blacks (a contradiction of my own conceived stereotype) must therefore hate their own kind and be sell outs", as well as B: "All tea partiers are racist and use black people (because I say so)". A is an example of racism - defining a group and their behavior by skin tone. B is an example of discrimination- prejudicial consideration of a group of people.
@mrknowitalllt1 From my recollection, President Obama has walked out of quite a few 'bi-partisan' meetings and refused to work with the republicans on many issues. And, contrary to popular belief, it wasn't the republicans (at the beginning of the presidency) that were the problem. The democrats, if they wished, had enough votes for a supermajority even without the republicans. NOW the republicans are a factor, and they -are- working for the betterment of the country - we elected them to.
@PersephonesFear From your recollection? LOL were you there at the meetings? have you heard what is said? Can we just agree that the President of the United States does not "refuse" to work with congress, because they essentially have no power if he does not sign their bills into law. But if Congress decides to bring no reasonable legislation forward (like your republicans have) ,the who is "refusing" to work with who?
@mrknowitalllt1 Who says the tea party 'embraces the KKK' - the liberal media? Who says the tea party is white supremist? The liberals? Every tea party I have been too has embraced all races, and two out of three have had speeches on content of character over color of skin, and the need for easier legalized immigration because our nation is built out of many races. I have never seen a 'neonazi' at a rally - mostly a bunch of house moms drinking tea! Speeches by asians, blacks, indians, whites...
@flipgood89 . The republican party was founded to fight AGAINST slavery. The democrats had expanded the slave-trade, rather than let it expire (the KKK, banning minority votes, and lynching were out of the democrats too). The GOP voted in favor for every civil rights bill, democrats the vast majority opposed even through 1964. Dems. joined civil rights 'after the fact'.
@DEMOCRATloyalty Did you know that one of the primary definitions of 'racism' is believing that all people of a certain race or skin color should, or do, act a certain way or believe certain things - basically, that they have (perceived) racial 'boundaries' of behavior, that define them?
@Matown21 The republicans were founded to fight against slavery, and to fight for civil liberties. This has NEVER CHANGED. The democrats (in the majority) fought against every civil rights bill for minorities and women and fredom that has ever come up. Republicans want everyone to be viewed on their own merit, their own character, and to have an equal right to freely pursue happiness - to be unique individuals creating one nation (E Pluribus Unum).
@Matown21 Have you heard the analogy of the frog in boiling water? Put a frog in water and slowly warm it up (Bush), and the frog will not notice. Throw a frog in boiling water, and it will hop out. (President Obama). The tea partiers are not any happier with Bush, and wouldn't have been any happier with McCain, likely. The difference is, President Obama's policies were so quick, that the changes were obvious and dramatic. Many tea partiers became newly active in politics because of it.
@CityLoch yeah, thumbs up, 'these are my people." Americans. Media always try to play racist cards. Keep everyone fighting, the guy should have been offended by the question.
@AxisSalley Seeing as how the Tea Party is clueless about blacks, latinos, arabs, and other minorities, the reporter should have been offended by the black guy being there in the first place. He must have been raised by white people.
@frolickingcamel Bald-faced lies. We do not "flip a lid," don't put anybody in "boxes." He's referring to the fact that, rather than blindly support any black person, we support those who are in favor of equality and justice. This causes the hard right outrage when their tokenism of shoving the occassional misled black, like Herman Cain, who puts his own greed ahead of racial justice, to the forefront, doesn't fool anybody. Ever notice BLACK liberals don't fall for it, either? Are they racist?
I wonder if this NBC "reporter" would dare to ask Steve Nash (white basketball player for the Phoenix Suns) if he "ever felt uncomfortable" being amongst all the Blacks on the team?
To michaelchristopherj, hey moron, Hitler was into redistribution of wealth too. He confiscated the property of jews in germany. Quite a few occupy wall street people are saying the same should be done in the U.S. How does that make you feel?
Herman cain is the house nigger that gets left alone in the masters house and walks around shaking his finger at other black people, like he owns the place because he's in that position. Getting away from herman for a second but why do people hate to acknowledge that HOUSE NIGGERS still exist, just like racism exist. Of course a HN would never admit to being a house nigger. If your black and say things like "there's too many black people at this party" your a HN. lol come on!
@Beetwate305 Every tea party I have attended (except one, but there were only like 30 people, so demographically that's not saying much), there have been black people in attendence. A lot of Russians, very few chinese (that I have noticed), and so forth. Some young people, some old, some veterans, mostly middle aged and especially women newly into politics. Stop making an issue where there isn't any - if you have to judge a group by its skin color, and not its character...need I say more?
The tea party are a bunch of low class white trash that cant believe a black man is president. It is 21st century racism at its finest. I really think that if u dropped a bomb at one of their klan rallies, none of them will be missed. I cant wait for 2012, and I hope Obama wins so I can see these teabagger scum commit suicide. The world will be a much better place with out these worthless pieces of shit racist bigots. I cant believe they have the guts to flaunt their racism. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
@beeelovedd Actually I had everywhere to go and I made my point by taking up the entire FUCKING second page on the comments so of course u read my one comment regarding race because u are one of those teabaggers that picks and chooses what u want to argue about. Typical.
@Rangerwhat what's is the point of you being here on this video if you already have your opinion on the issue. You just want to cause trouble. Before you accuse tea party people of being racist go to a meeting first! You also may want to get some help you're a sick twisted psycho for wanting innocent people to die.
@beeelovedd First of all, I am here because I wanted to see what it is like TO BE at one of those tea party meetings, and by the looks of it, I will never ever step foot in those meetings. Even if I am white, I wont feel safe because I might say something bad about their beloved leaders. And if u say I need help b/c i want innocent ppl to die, then u should say that to the tea party because they want 30 million innocent americans who are not on healthcare to die. Tell me the difference pls.
@Rangerwhat They don't want 30 million Americans with no healthcare to die. They want someone OTHER than government to pay for it. What ever happened to charity? community? Family? If you have those groups pay for it, and you make it illegal for providers to charge whatever they feel like, the problem would be mostly solved. Healthcare sucks in America because there's no real, open marketplace where patients can shop around. When you eliminate competition, it may as well just be bribery.
@nickburnin8 True u make a good point, but for the past 20 years politicians and leaders have been going on about how they will make sure every american has healthcare once they take office, and NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE! In the time that u want to debate whether healthcare should be privatized, some innocent person who cannot afford healthcare will DIE, this is the only time that a huge healthcare reform bill has ever been passed. What u are saying has been proposed but never acted upon.
@Rangerwhat I'm on medicaid - long wait lists, substandard care. It was a two year wait for wis. tooth surgery - and then they couldn't even perform the surgery because the doctor hadn't read my medical records! I found a private doctor, and paid my parents back 50$ a month for it. The hospitals can't handle the numbers, the doctors can't afford it, yet Obama's healthcare adds millions (of middleclass, no less) to the system. The 'republicans want people to die' is plain nonsense.
@Rangerwhat The Ku Klux Klan was an offshoot and proud support of the Democratic party. The Republican party was founded to fight slavery (you can read all of their early anti-slavery party platforms, and witness their continuing fight for civil liberties throughout history). If you believe that magically all the racist democrats (like Senator Byrd) joined the Republican party after the Democrats filibustered the last civil rights bill - those are very rose colored glasses.

@LeoAutodidact And where has THIS been said??
It IS wrong, and worthy of criticism, for wealthy blacks to put their own greed ahead of racial justice by voting Republican. It's not "voting and thinking alike on everything."
There is still no "race card," that's a sick made-up term implying racism is just a game, it doesn't really exist.
PrisonerNumber9653 2 months ago
@PersephonesFear First off, EVERY KKK person left is Republican, and tea party supporter.
The idea that the systematic racism of the hard right is excused because of their support for a token is pathetic. It doesn't make racism go away to support one black person who happens to OPPOSE every move towards racial and economic justice POSSIBLE. Cain is like a few other right wing blacks, who get filthy rich and care only about their money, not justice. They're very few and far between.

@PrisonerNumber9653
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear First is a bald-faced lie, Byrd did NOT say this. It's fiction.
The Biden comment was poorly worded, but nowhere close to "racist."
And you bet your LIFE it become FAR less racist. A white person being compared to a monkey and a black person being compared to a monkey are NOT the same, and it's insanely racist to claim they are equally offensive.
All men are SUPPOSED to be equal, in our society they are NOT, which is why we DO have to focus on race and fix the problem.
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 He didn't 'say' it, he 'wrote' it. It's in his memoirs from 2005, for all the world to read. Biden: There have been plenty of 'mainstream black politicians', but only President Obama fit his view of 'bright and clean and nice-looking and articulate'? Was he implying an imaginary standard for blacks in politics to meet?
And if it is wrong to compare a black man to a monkey, then it is equally wrong to compare a white man to a monkey, because they are both human.

PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear Why you think charity "outstrips" public action is beyond me, it in fact doesn't come even vaguely CLOSE to meeting the need.
The US is not vaguely CLOSE to the most generous nation in the world. That we have 46 million in poverty in our nation, and give a very LOW amount of our GDP in international aid is telling, as is the political strings we attach to that small amount of aid.
No, more people cannot join the top 5%. It''s still 5%.
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear Where you got this "9,000" nonsense is a total mystery, especially given the amount of PROPERTY involved, not merely money. The LAST thing we need to do is follow the hard right's lies of "growing economies" meaning "give it all the big business, and it'll magically trickle down" which DOES NOT WORK. This vile lie that equality will mean "poverty for all" is beyond ridiculous, it most certainly will not.
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 The numbers do not include property or other hard assets, just money stock. (A few places have done this, I assume is 60$ trillion world moneystock divided by 6.8Billion people). I haven't seen a property study, which is a much harder task to determine/enact. (1/8 car per person?) I think you can get about $25,000 per person, not bad, if you include all the financial assets of the world (including stocks/bonds/etc), but this will only work one time.
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear It will "only work one time" assumes the US never again produces anything, grows anything, manufactures anything, creates anything. That is of course an absurd assumption.
You are very right in implying that it's a tremendously complicated issue, it is. How specifically to work out things is going to be a real challenge.
But decent people SHOULD agree that what we have now is nowhere even close to as things should be. Not even close.
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@greyeyed123 It's more than a representative democracy - that's only part. Those representatives must also 'rule by law' to be a republic (ie, our constitution). So, its not just a majority vote by our elected representatives, which would afford us little more protection against mob rule or special interests than a direct democracy would. The problem is when government goes OUTSIDE those laws, or ignores ones it deems inconsequential. (e.g. executive exemptions to following the constitution...)
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear I only vaguely remember the conversation we were having from months ago, and skimmed a little of it here to find out what you were responding to...and still only have a slightly better than vague idea.
What, exactly, are you saying is unconstitutional, that the representatives in our representative democracy are going "outside" of? And if we have a disagreement about what is "outside" the constitution, how does the constitution suggest that disagreement be settled?
greyeyed123 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 One elementary public school bans voluntary christian prayer at recess, but gives muslims an extra recess to pray. I faced rel. suppression through my schools (even held after class a couple times for legally attending an off site religious class, or questioning evolution!), & other such. Congress had church sessions in the cap. buil. right after the 1st amendment, Public officials used to freely act/express faith, upheld by the supreme court as cons. until the 1900's.
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear Lie. It is obviously unconstitutional to ban voluntary prayer. There is ZERO religious supression of Christians happening, ZERO.
Public officials STILL freely express faith--most of it hypocritical, phony acts. Nobody EVER said they couldn't express their faith, or that school kids couldn't. What the right wants is for their narrow, bigoted form of Christianity to be forced on others.
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 It IS obviously unconstitutional. Yet, its not infrequent. (eg Santa Fe Ind. SD v. Jane Doe, though school policy said students could speak freely, the supreme court bans all student initiated prayers as 'unconstitutional'. Oregon vs. Smith decided the establishment clause was meaningless if a religious practice was opposed to a government law (In that case, Native americans who used Peyote in sacramental ceremonies where the use of peyote was an 'illegal substance') Etc).
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear It is VERY infrequent. The extremely rare cases of prayer outside the classroom being inappropriately interfered with, because of an administrator or teacher who doesn't understand the law, get massively blown out of proportion by right wing hate groups, desperate to push this meme of "Christians being persecuted," a ridiculous falsehood. Harassment of religious minorities is a major problem, for Christians, not really.
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 I experienced it myself. 1st grade - indian spiritual rituals taught in class 2nd - held in at recess for attending out-of-school Bible class. 3rd, held after class for 'questioning' evolution (asking 'where did the matter in the sky come from? to the teacher meant I was 'trying to bring up God'). HS -school administration would laugh at sexual/rel. harassment reports I filed and turn the report info over to the offenders (a federal crime), who would then retailiate. Etc.
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear 1st, what idiocy. This was NOT promoting religion, it was EDUCATION. 2nd is getting bullshit called on it. Either a lie or there's far more to the story. Did you miss a class for this "bible study"? 3rd, there's nothing remotely Christian in questioning evolution, nor is it appropriate for a student at any level to get into an argument with a teacher or try to goad her into turning a public school classroom into a right wing attack on scientific FACT.
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 Class participation in Indian spiritual rituals is not education, unless Christian communion would be 'education' too? 2nd - Yes, I legally missed a class, its called "Release Time" - students may go off campus 1 hour/week to attend religious study. 3rd grade - It was the first lecture I had heard on evolution, and I was asking her legitimate questions. I asked her where animals came from/where sea life came from/where matter in the sky came from - based on her responses.
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear Of course learning about spiritual rituals in other countries IS education. They are NOT praying, they're learning how OTHERS pray. No, taking communion is NOT education, there's not anyone in the US that doesn't know how that works.
Again, I call BS on three, you are in a class to LEARN, not browbeat the teacher. You came in with propaganda and an agenda to wreck the learning of everyone else in the class. You were there to tear down real science and replace it with Genesis
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 Learning about spiritual rituals is one thing. Class PARTICIPATING in them is another. (IE drumming in time to the heartbeat of the earth, renacting spirit myths) . And I had no 'agenda' other than learning. I read encyclopedias for fun back then (I still do) and would usually ask many questions in class, which the teacher -appreciated- normally. She -assumed- I was trying to bring God into it - I was quite startled. And one learns by asking questions on difficult areas!
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear No, it actually ISN'T. It's an EDUCATIONAL activity, not a religious one. To claim your agenda was learning is a preposterous LIE, you don't learn by yelling leading questions at a teacher.
It's GREAT to ask difficult questions, my wife and I both got into all kinds of trouble as kids for doing that, in church. But there's a DAMN good reason we don't allow religion to be promoted in the classroom.
You were asking "where do these come from" and not fishing for "God"??
PrisonerNumber9653 2 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 She gave a very barebones outline of evolution which left many gaps. I raised my hand each time, waited until called, and politely asked my questions. I never mentioned/hinted at "God", nor was I thinking about the lesson in relation to God. I was clarifying an illogical lecture where she was talking about animals being born from different animals. From what I later learned of evolution, I am certain that she did not understand mutation & natural selection very well herself.

PrisonerNumber9653 2 months ago
@PersephonesFear As for the high school stuff, again I call bullshit. You're leaving out the real story, you were NOT punished for reporting legitimate "sexual harassment", or "religious harassment." What were you REALLY busted for? What did the SCHOOL say was the problem? Because the hard right is propping up this whole cottage industry of filing phony reports like this, claiming that kids who harass gay students viciously and are punished are being "harassed for their faith", a blasphemous lie
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 My teacher actually broke down in tears during the after class session and said if I asked questions on evolution, the school could FIRE her if they thought she was bringing God into the classroom. I was my HS valedictorian and rarely ever got in trouble in school other than such instances. As for harassment: Used condoms put on my locker, sexual comments on my club sign-up sheets and to my face, class ostrazation, kicked (even in view of one teacher, who laughed at it), etc.
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear That a 3rd grader was having this kind of conversation is child abuse. You were brainwashed by parents with a political agenda. You were trying to con the teacher into talking about God, which is HORRIBLY inappropriate in a public school classroom, and your actions were incredibly un-Christian.
I'm against anyone being picked on in school, I'm far MORE against what one suspects led to this, which is spouting homophobia and bigotry. Some kids are picked on because they're snots
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 How was I trying to con the teacher? IWhile I had heard the term evolution before, I had never heard it explained prior to that (It was 3rd grade. The teachers were stunned I knew my times tables). The teacher didn't know the subject matter very well herself (as I picked up; later in life) which is probably why her explanation had so many holes. We could always ask questions in class, and I had never gotten in trouble before that for asking about explanation gaps.
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear The fact that this supposedly innocent line of questioning is WORD FOR WORD in line with the same schtick we get from the right wing in claiming Christians are being "persecuted" and griping about perfectly innocent lessons about cultures of other people could have lifted directly from a blast email from some hate group like Focus on the Family. They're not just "innocently seeking truth" they're trying to stop teaching of evolution in the classroom.

PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@mrknowitalllt1 From my recollection, President Obama has walked out of quite a few 'bi-partisan' meetings and refused to work with the republicans on many issues. And, contrary to popular belief, it wasn't the republicans (at the beginning of the presidency) that were the problem. The democrats, if they wished, had enough votes for a supermajority even without the republicans. NOW the republicans are a factor, and they -are- working for the betterment of the country - we elected them to.
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@PersephonesFear From your recollection? LOL were you there at the meetings? have you heard what is said? Can we just agree that the President of the United States does not "refuse" to work with congress, because they essentially have no power if he does not sign their bills into law. But if Congress decides to bring no reasonable legislation forward (like your republicans have) ,the who is "refusing" to work with who?
5heneverlies 3 months ago
@mrknowitalllt1 Who says the tea party 'embraces the KKK' - the liberal media? Who says the tea party is white supremist? The liberals? Every tea party I have been too has embraced all races, and two out of three have had speeches on content of character over color of skin, and the need for easier legalized immigration because our nation is built out of many races. I have never seen a 'neonazi' at a rally - mostly a bunch of house moms drinking tea! Speeches by asians, blacks, indians, whites...
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@flipgood89 . The republican party was founded to fight AGAINST slavery. The democrats had expanded the slave-trade, rather than let it expire (the KKK, banning minority votes, and lynching were out of the democrats too). The GOP voted in favor for every civil rights bill, democrats the vast majority opposed even through 1964. Dems. joined civil rights 'after the fact'.
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@DEMOCRATloyalty Did you know that one of the primary definitions of 'racism' is believing that all people of a certain race or skin color should, or do, act a certain way or believe certain things - basically, that they have (perceived) racial 'boundaries' of behavior, that define them?
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@Matown21 The republicans were founded to fight against slavery, and to fight for civil liberties. This has NEVER CHANGED. The democrats (in the majority) fought against every civil rights bill for minorities and women and fredom that has ever come up. Republicans want everyone to be viewed on their own merit, their own character, and to have an equal right to freely pursue happiness - to be unique individuals creating one nation (E Pluribus Unum).
PersephonesFear 3 months ago
@Matown21 Have you heard the analogy of the frog in boiling water? Put a frog in water and slowly warm it up (Bush), and the frog will not notice. Throw a frog in boiling water, and it will hop out. (President Obama). The tea partiers are not any happier with Bush, and wouldn't have been any happier with McCain, likely. The difference is, President Obama's policies were so quick, that the changes were obvious and dramatic. Many tea partiers became newly active in politics because of it.
