  • drained dry, im so sorry.

  • I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE

  • WHY is von Karajan always the default conductor for any classical music in a movie? there are stronger performances than this with Anne-Sophie Mutter they could have used for their end credits music.

  • @LeRinkRat Probably because he is either a: in the right place at the right time, or b: is better at brown-nosing.

  • Why don't I own this?

  • @soberchimera61 That's the Bandy tract. He was the hold out.

  • @amnm12 can't you build a pipe line around it?

  • When this music came in, and THERE WILL BE BLOOD flashed on screen, it was such a beautiful moment.

  • Craving a milkshake now.

  • I have a gift for everyone, a free replay button 0:00

  • Imaging a barfight taking place to this tune.

It is still a masterpiece, and There Will Be Blood is a masterpiece of a film.

  • @shutthefuckup654 Now Imagine Kubrick directing that Bar Fight... I think I just had a Cinematic Orgasm.

  • ''Im Finished''

  • Outstanding conclusion to any film, pure class! Film was exceptional, one of the great classics of the last quarter century, seen it over and over, sits proudly in my collection, exceptional!

  • @ViresVeneratio

I believe the one you are looking for is "Henry Plainview" from Jonny Greenwood's score for this film. Just type it in and enjoy :).

  • LONG LIVE DANIEL PLAINVIEW (DAY-LEWIS) !!!!!!!!!!

  • To be honest.. Plainview was'nt the monster i thought he was going to be in the movie..I would have done that to Eli too lol he was pretending to be a prophet and daniel was the only person who could see through it..

  • If I ever wind up murdering someone I truly despise from the bottom of my heart, I will immediately play this music afterward.

  • Shut up you sniveling little ass!

  • @jasper2008ify He was never a caring man. He only saw HW as a source of added income for his company, he was misanthropic. He was only concerned with money, and any way to get it. He saw people as stepping stones to get to money, and once he stepped on them, he discarded them. To him, HW had overstayed his welcome as a stepping stone and he got rid of him by saying what he said. Eli had done the same, but also was arrogant enough to assume he would help him. Daniel is the modern businessman.

  • I'm Finished!

  • i actually knew this concerto before, and found out just now that it appeared in this movie. somehow, i am bummed, although i shouldn't because it made people aware of the concerto.

  • @jasper2008ify i could not agree more with your statement my friend, peoples attention to detail in stories these days is sad, thanks alot "scary movie" series i hate you

  • *ahem* I'm finished!!!

  • @jasper2008ify Oh no, that's not it at all. Some of my favorite movies contain barely any action. I do enjoy action movies as well, but no number of explosions could have saved the Transformers franchise. The reason I didn't like this movie is that I didn't like and couldn't relate to any of the characters. I also thought the dialogue was kind of half-baked. And so, to copy your format: Please go back to watching shitty movies and leave the film judging to those pursuing an actual degree in it.

  • @chicoramero I'd say you are very biased and you would make a shitty reviewer. I can't actually relate to being a medival knight or a samurai but a movie isn't determined by how the characters relate to me. That sounds very egocentric. I'd like to review your short films and tell you how terrible those are. It doesn't take a degree or course of study to realize if a movie was good to your or not. Your opinion does not matter to the world.

  • Spectacular

  • 4 people didn't drink their milkshakes...

  • IRELAND!!!!!!

  • IM GOING TO BURY YOU UNDERGROUND, one of the best lines in cinema

  • Daniel Day Lewis > all.

  • I think I'm fucked up, I aspire to live like Plainview. Well, minus the murdering and all. ;)

  • @kelthanius kill yourself

  • makes me wanna go bowling

  • 5:38 is one of my favourite moments in music.. ever... as in, since the dawn of time. Mutter is from another planet.

  • DRAINAGE! Drainage, Eli, my boy! If you have a milkshake. And, I have a milkshake. And I have a straw that reaches across the room and starts to drink your milkshake. I drink your MILKSHAKE! SLURP*

  • BASTARD IN A BASKET!

  • great movie i only wish i could have met a guy like this we would have been really close friends.Eli was an asshole and his son well thats just sad.

  • eli deserved it. Man! he's a dick!

  • "I'm finished!"

  • Listening to this in them morning makes it the best morning ever.

  • what is the sound at the start of the movie in the opening scene

  • This song makes me thirsty for a milkshake.

  • @Scar231 I don't think he hates people. If that was the case, then why does he have 2 bowling alleys in his basement?

He's just alone because he can't trust anyone after the incident with Henry. In the end, he even sees his son (that is, if you want to believe it, adopted) as an enemy.

  • God now I want milkshake

  • I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!

  • "Mr. Daniel?"

    "I'm finished!!!"

  • @greendan49

I think that was one of the most disturbing lines from the movie!

  • The scores for the film bring so much depth to it that "There Will Be Blood" in my opinion is the apex of supreme film making.

  • cult movie

  • I'm finished!

  • my dad said he thought this movie was . . . "ok" . i told him he had problems

  • There's a whole ocean of MILKSHAKE underneath our feet! No one can get at it except for me!

  • "I'm finished"

    *violin*

  • @chicoramero Actually, great concerto, even greater movie.

  • @Scar231 For some reason I believe Anne Sophie Mutter is the violinist of the recording in the film, do you know if I'm right?

  • @Scar231 Actually,great concerto,great movie

  • @chicoramero fuck you

  • @chicoramero No, just no.

  • @chicoramero Fuck you asshole!

  • Comment removed

  • @chicoramero You have the class and intelligence to recognize this piece as good, but not There Will Be Blood? Shame.

  • This Brahms piece screwed up this movie's nomination for best soundtrack just cause it wasn't "original"

cmon, the soundtrack for this movie was awesome regardless

  • @hkpopfan4lif3 It wasn't just the concerto; Jonny Greenwood used the piece "Convergence" in the scene with the oil derrick fire, music he wrote for an earlier film, Bodysong. In addition, the opening theme uses sections from a piece he wrote for the BBC Concert Orchestra called "Popcorn Superhet Receiver". It was a crime he wasn't nominated, though; the soundtrack to There Will Be Blood is a landmark achievement.

  • its sad that this movie came out the same year that No Country did.it deserved more.and since then there s no movie that even got close to these two...

  • lets get 189 people together and beat the 1 person who disliked this video to death with a wooden bowling pin

  • One of the best movie endings EVER!! Eli gets what he deserves and Daniel says three simple words that are so loaded with different meaning: "I'm finished!" What a classic film for the modern time, this one will be reflected on for many years to come!

  • DRAAAAIIIIIIINNNAAGGGGGEEEE!

  • None of my friends like this movie.

    I clearly need new friends.

  • That must have been one tasty milkshake Mr. Plainview had. :)

  • I'm finished

  • "I drink your MILKSHAKE!"

    SLUURRPPP!

  • although he killed eli, i feel really sorry for him, cuz he lost everything

  • @freakozola21 Not exactly. He didn't lose everything, just everyone. And he makes it quite clear throughout the course of the movie that nothing would make him happier. To him, people are but a means of acquiring wealth, otherwise he can't stand them. He wants to get rich so he can live the rest of his life in solitude. It may not be the life the society around him looks highly upon, but it's indeed the life he aspires to.

  • @Scar231 It's not as clear as tht. He aspires to that but it does not make him happy in the least. By the end of the film he is a wreck

  • @Scar231 I think he would care about a person if that person would have been a real family member.

  • @StanleyMessie Which is exactly what he thought was happening with Henry. He thought he'd found his brother, but it turned out to be a drifter leeching off of him. I personally think that event really drove him to true misanthropy, whereas before he hadn't truly hated people.

  • @Scar231 Well it's mostly because he was a descendant of Cain, if not for that he would be allowed the happiness and the friendship he desires. Could have found a friend in Eli but he was destined to be alone.

  • @laker090 Yes,he couldve found a friend in Eli,or his 'son',but as you said,he would rather live alone..and die alone.

    ''DRAINAAAAAAGGGGGGGEEE.ELI,MY BOY,YOU SNIVELLING ASS''

  • @Scar231 But if you think about it, everything he did was because of HW. He came to love him because of guilt, but he did loved him. Think about the baptism, you can see how hurt Daniel is about the HW situation.

The bastard in a basket moment is mere pain from Daniel, because not even someone who was sort of obligated to be with him stayed by his side. He blames Eli for that, and for him being deft, he kills him because he feels he need to be punished by the horror he caused to his son.

  • @Scar231 He seems to care about HW, at least for a while.

  • @Scar231 and he is completely victorious, as malicious as that might be.

  • @Scar231 I don't know, at some points the movie seems to suggest a chance at redemption, most notably through his son. That little flashback at the end is nothing if not sentimental. He ultimately rejects his son but I don't think he's quite so irredeemable as some say

  • @Scar231 The ending of the movie was to show that that was not what he really wanted. Don't you know that people often misplace their desires?

  • @Scar231 Yes, but part of what makes him fascinating is his apparent genuine love for his son. This sentiment of his is in direct contradiction to the rest of his personality, which is hateful and consummately competitive. This is a repeated source of conflict in the movie, culminating in the final blow up that occurs between him and his son at the end of the movie. Because he has "a competition in" himself, he cannot abide the thought of his son running his own oil company.

  • @Scar231 in todays man world he actually nailed it to the bone, like it or not :)

  • @freakozola21

I honestly felt sorry for Eli more. I think this is as pro-religious as it is anti-religious. Both sides have their evils.

  • @cartmanblues agreed. no one is good or bad. Except for the young boy.

  • @freakozola21 No he didnt,he chose to lose everything.

  • "Stop crying you sniveling ass! Stop your nonsense!"

  • This is what I like about Daniel Day Lewis, he wait's awhile to pick a great film and they turn out great. See he isn't in it for the money he is in it for the fun of it. And he isn't like most of the actor's today who just pick a movie for the money and they turn out horrible. In my opinion Daniel Day Lewis = Greatest Actor of all Time.

  • @FoshaProductions well I would have to agree, an actor of his caliber needs a few years to breath before doing his next roll, and he gets a lot of room since he's so media evasive. but one thing i have to say is that he is as much "in it for the money" as a lot of actors these days. he certainly has enough, but it doesn't mean that he refuses the millions he gets for each release.

  • Daniel Day Lewis probably had the best performance of an actor i have EVER seen.....EVER

  • you sniveling ass....

  • DRAAAIIINAGE ELI YOU BOY!

  • I'm Finished!

  • 1 person doesnt drink your milkshake

  • Best Movie of 2007. Potentially the decade.

  • who would not like this?

  • @Thirtiesguy a sniveling ass

  • Plainview was a great character. Cool music. Strangely uplifting.

  • 1 person is a False Prophet.

  • Wife didn't like the movie, so i got divorced.

  • @toshsmokedout well done

  • @toshsmokedout good man

  • @toshsmokedout Right on!

  • i kill your milkshake

  • I'll never stop loving this movie.

  • Thumbs up for the amazing picture

  • is this suppose to be comical

  • "Mr. Daniel?" "I'm finished."

  • I drink your MILKSHAKE!

  • A dark and chilling film that leaves you on the edge of your seat with a character who is tragic, yet fascinating, at best. The music helps the film rise the stature of extraordinary and keeps on building with every scene Daniel appears in. A truly incredible film, one that should not be forgotten.

  • Love it!!

  • "I see the worst in people"

  • lol @ the pickture he has an milkshake in his hand, lol.

  • im finished.....

  • thumbs up if There Will Be Blood should have won Best Picture

  • @shuloopie WTF? it didnt win best picture?!?!?!? Those BASTARDS! well at least Daniel got an award for best actor.

  • @shuloopie If only it wasnt up against old country for old men. I love both films though :D

  • @shuloopie As great as this movie was, come on...No Country For Old Men definitely deserved it.

  • @bootsluzer As much as I loved NCFOM, I like this movie more.

  • @bootsluzer I disagree, I liked this more.

  • @bootsluzer

That's a tough one...they were both _fantastic_ movies.

  • @shuloopie 2008 was really a hard one to decide, everybody knew it was either going to be "No Country For Old Men" or this one, I truly love both of them because they focus on the darkness and hatred in mankind

  • "I'm finished!" END. ^ This music plays.

    Me: FUCK YES.

  • Did you think your song and dance and your superstition would help you, Eli!?

I am the Third Revelation! I am who the lord has chosen!

I'm smarter than you! I'm older!

I AM THE THIRD REVELATION! I AM THE THIIIIIIIRD REVELATION!

I TOLD YOU I WOULD EAT YOU, I TOLD YOU I WOULD EAT YOU!

    I'm finished!

  • This piece reminds me of what a comedy life is.

  • Love the final scene. Especially when Daniel Day Lewis keeps poking Eli in the chest with his index finger and saying, "Listen, Listen, Listen, I paid him 10,000 dollars, cash in hand, *clap* just like that!"

I recently moved out of my old place, but not before sitting my foreclosing landlord down and utterly annihilating him with words. After 2 hours, he began to sob. I stared at him, satisfied, and then I turned and walked out the door with this blasting in my mind. Greatest film, maybe ever.

  • That guy drank my milkshake. He drank it up.

  • Such an upbeat song can be so evil

  • @Convoicev2 so trueeee.....listening to this without the context of the movie renders a completely different emotion

  • The one person who disliked this song shall go to hell
