I've been using a Palm Pre to log onto the internet, (teethered) And I was sick of having Calls or texts slow my connection so I went with the Overdrive Pro Air card, and I have to say the thing is an Epic fail, its much slower then my cellphone! So if you are hopping that the new "Pro" is better, NO its really not, still overheats, and the battery sucks!
there is a couple of ways to avoid getting the overdrive and still get the same results 1. Get an HTC EVO or Epic download Pdanet app and hook it up to your computer to enjoy 4g while you charge your phone or just root the Evo and install the wifi tether app and bam just a Mifi.
sprint blows, it'll only work if you have 4g around your area. i dont so i get 2 bar connection, 3 at the most. i also play online with my ps3 and lag at times. i got charge $285 cause i supposedly went over the limit playing online. which is alot OF BS!!!
I've had it for only 2 weeks now, and i totally recommend it for everyone. I'm on my Desktop, my boyfriend is on his labtop, and my friend are on my wii all at the same time. Cool.
DO NOT BY THE OVERDRIVE!!! IT IS THE NEWEST RIP-OFF BY SPRINT!!! What the representatives will fail to tell you is that you ONLY get 5 gigabytes of usage a MONTH!!! And if you go over 5 gigabytes a month, they will CHARGE YOU 7 CENTS PER KILOBYTE!!! So if you watch a lot of videos on youtube, or purchase a program online, or do a lot of downloading, you will use up the 5 gigabytes in no time flat!!! The OVERDRIVE is only good for LOOKING AT WEB PAGES.

@paul19781105 You should do more research before doing your blasting. Yes, 5GB/month if your using the 3G side of things. 4G at their $59.99 plan is completely unlimited. You can set up the Overdrive 3G/4G to only use the 4G mode if you want to prevent additional charges from 3G overages over 5GB.
@Bang0r yes. Sprint 3g/4g plan is $40 per mo. The Overdrive unit cost $100 after MIR One tidbit I might add is that 3g download max out at 5gigs per mo. and 4g downloads are unlimited at this time. 4g speed I have seen high 10mbs and average download speed of 4-6mbs. Upload has always been 1mbs are better. Hope that helps..
@itanium69 i have the everything data plan with "unlimited" data...is there an additional monthly ccharge for the overdrive. I don't have 4G in my area yet.
@1tropik Yes, I have it connected to my xbox360. I am sure you can do the same on PS3. If your PS3 does not connect directly to it (would be odd) just connect your pc to the Overdrive and connect your PS3 to your Pc via Cat5 cable. "See videos on YouTube "Using your PC as Internet Service for gaming consoles" to do that. Hope this helps.
@TheUmps777 Yes, I do mine with a wireless adapter. If you don't want to spend the money for a wireless adapter (Cheap on ebay) You can set it up so that the Overdrive unit is connected to a pc or a laptop and then plug your console into your Desktop through internet connection sharing (XP/Vista/Win7) and there are video's on Youtube to help you with that. Hope that helps
@isaacbrown09 Yes, as described in the post below. You can connect any device that has a Wifi connected to it. Gamming consoles as well. PS3/XBOX360/Wii
I actually work for sprint customer service and just heard about the capacity of this device... you can connecet 5 laptops/cellphones at the same time with 4G speed unlimited... this is actually such a nice device
Just received the product about 4 hours ago. I'm connected and going. No 4G available in my area but the 3G is fast enough for me. I can't imagine how much faster 4G would be because the 3G blazes. I also connected my kid's DSI and she's acting the fool now. It seem pretty cool for now. Give me some time for the cons.
@botssuck123 Yes, I use a wifi adapter on my XBOX360 and with 4g speed it blew my Quest DSL out of the water. Happy customer..Plus my PC, Laptop, and Cell phone are wireless but can swap and share files as if they were connected to a wired router..It's pretty slick.
I just got in 3days ago. I did have a problem connecting to it after setting a password and device name. Fortunately customer care took care of that and said that it was a known issue for those who didn't have 4G available. So there you have it, if you live in an area where 4G isn't available yet, you will more than likely experience that problem with the overdrive. Other than that...its pretty cool. Works for me.
Firstly: what is VPN? and what do you mean changing form 3G to 4G? Do you mean if I travel with it while it's connected? Overall, is it a good buy? I"m in the market.
Hey can I use this with an AT&T iPhone AND/OR a wifi only iPad 2?

VPN DOES NOT work on this device. It's a known problem that Sprint doesn't have a solution for. Beware.

VPN does work - what doesn't work is having a seamless connection if you change from 3G to 4G.
