Il est facile de parler français, c'est si vous avez une sœur qu'il parle et si vous avez pris les cours de français à l'école. lol. J'aime la langue française, si romantique. :)
I think that it is great that instead of going directly into the language, you teach using translations, which are very helpful. Our company Brainscape uses the same philosophy only with flash cards. Check out the video response I have posted!
I'm french, we don't pronounce the final "s" but there is always a word before to introduce the plural. Like "Ces" (these), "les" (the), "eux" (them) for example. We having almost the same situation in english. How do you know the gender in the sentence "It's my cousin"? ;)
@SurvivingOklahoma it's the word that you put in front of it that tells you if it's singular or plural. For example, in english you'd say: I read a book (singular) / I like books (plural). In french we say: Je lis UN livre (singular) / J'aime LES livres (plural). We call those words "articles". "Un" is a masculine-singular article, and "Les" is a no-gender plural article. Do determine singular, plural and genders we always use those words. There is: Le, La, Les, Un, Une, Des, and L'

isnt there a mistake with mangeons, it should be mangons? or am i wrong?
lennard 2 years ago
no mangeons is correct. we need the added e after the g for the right pronounciation.
Jeannie2Genie 2 years ago
manger is actually a bad verb to use for a first lesson, since it's an irregular verb. A regualr verb of the 1st group would indeed be the structure u gave, but for manger its "mangeons" because or else the g would be pronounced like in the word "guy", and the verb manger has a soft g
chanter and/or danser (chanter = to sing, danser = to danse) would be the verbs I would use for a first lesson
goldenchocolate 2 years ago
"mongons" would make the g a hard g (like in google), but it's mangeons to make it a soft g (no equivalent in english... but like manzjons)
RealCheeseOnly 2 years ago
French's "soft 'g'" sound does occur in English, namely as "si" in words such as "vision" and "s" in "pleasure".
Korpikotka 2 years ago
It's slightly different, but it's very close to that yeah.
