I fixed my xbox with the penny trick, and started it up first time A ok with no need for towel trick. My xbox has the issue that everytime I turn it off it seems to lose its date/time settings, which could be the reason I didn't need the towel trick. Didn't remember to notice if there was some kind of cmos battery somewhere.
new question i did everything u did but i still get the 3 red lights and i doesnt make a sound no booting and the fan off quiet but the 3 red lights are there what do i do please help!!
i did the exact same thing you did i put it all back and try to turn in on and it wont and i saw the power brick blincking so i dont know what to do please help!!

yes after you put the penny on there then you do the towel trick. then let it cool off then bam it works. if you have bad luck like me then you'll have to fix the other problem too. let me know how it goes.
dude it works like a charm i cant belive it but now i dont know what my dad did but i have to press the disc button harder for some reason but i dont care FIXED XBOX but the disc tray works so im happy MW2 hear i come thanks

dude did u have to do the twoel trick after u turned it on because the guy said that the xbox doesnt know it is fixed
