Actually, JD wrote the song is about a neighbor who molested him. The neighbor had the same demeanor as Mr. Rogers ("Why hello there little guy. Would you like to be my friend?"). That's what Jonathan referred to him as, "Mr. Rogers". Just like in "Daddy" he's trying to tell his mom that "Mr. Rogers" abused him but she doesn't believe him. P.S. He was also abused by a priest. Tough life. Great lyrics. God Bless JD. That guys' been through hell and back.

Kind of. It's about how he watched the Mr. Rogers show as a child and it made him too trusting of people. Jon unknowingly allowed people to take advantage of him, which kind of goes hand in hand with the song "Daddy".
