  • Good review.

  • After I saw cocodile (spell) I can not go any where near water without M-9 or .40 OI had....Is that enough for seld defense with alligator or not?? thank Patience.

kkk So hard to understand Australian -English kkk is ME!

  • Nice review! I just got this as my first gun, and this was very helpful!

  • Hi Andrew - great review

can these Neos still be bought in Australia? they are on the berretta australia website, but ,my local gunshop can't find them on the price list.

  • Yeah, thanks bud. I am probably going to buy a Neos this week.

  • well done

  • Excellent overview of the pistol. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I'm interested in purchasing a U22 so this has been very helpful.

    Best Regard,

    Dalton

    Chapel Hill, NC

  • did you know there is an adaptation that allows you to turn it into a carabine rifle

  • Excellent, nice mentioning how to hold and check the firearm first, it's not a toy. Great little .22. Do you know of any upgrades for the U22, grips or anything?

  • excellent presentation andrew. i thought i wanted the ruger 10/45, but i now know for sure u22 is what i want. the simple takedown sold me on it.

  • Hey Apatience! In Australia the government let Civil or citizen to use gun again? NEW LAW??

  • @CharlieDoan In Australia Civilians have been able to own and use firearms since well before I was born, there have been a number of restrictions introduced since one idiot shot 35 people in 1996.

However if you have a genuine reason to own the firearms i.e. target shooting or hunting (for rifles only) you can still own them.

  • apatience please show us the "chemical" that you use to clean barrel and parts next time!

  • @CharlieDoan For the neos I only use gun oil as I only use lead round nose projectiles.

  • @apatience Thank you so much! My Australian FRIEND!

  • -Which part of US are you or Where are you from??

I am a Vietnamese learn Englisn and had a hard time to understand (sorry)

I had to REPLAY 5-7 times to understand....(or just me??)

    Anyway! Hello from Arizona,USA

  • @CharlieDoan I am from Melbourne Australia.

  • Man i want one so bad. What are some things i can tell my sister so she wont freak when i get it, she hates guns.

  • Very thorough review and an excellent vid! Thank you for posting!

  • i think this is such a stupid looking gun

  • @nachiesbuddy321 kkk

But Not so many People (company or companies) can think and can do?? RIGHT

European make excellent, American guns are expensive and very far to compare about Technical and Years of experience to make gun!

  • I enjoyed this review. It was a lot better than most reviews of any gun. Thanks

  • I just bought one of these in 6". Local gun store in Texas. $235 USD.

  • @kronosgyros

Buy 1 gun with whatever the barrel they give you and collect anothers 2 to complete a set...4.5 5.5 and 7.5 inches of barrels I thinked

  • apatience, some people "over-oil" a gun to store it. Sometimes the oil they use to preserve the gun is more like a gel, be sure to get it off before shooting for the first time.

  • @texasgringooo

    of course!

Some communist countries sale gun to USA with GREASE....Take me almost a whole morning to clean my SKS out!

NORMAL FOR A LONG TIME FIGHT....Over oil and grease is a MUST to keep guns last long and protected them

  • @CharlieDoan Chances are they have been dipped in cosmoline.

  • Nice job.

  • Neos: "nee-oss"...my dad used to work for Beretta. Not to be a d-bag, but whatever...

But yeah, good review. The Neos is a pretty cool gun, and I love the interchangable parts and the carbine-kit they made for it.

  • Good job. Thanks.

  • can the top rail be used to mount an optic

  • I haven't tried myself, however I have seen it done.

  • @TheMacmanr Yes it can, i have a "sight mark" holographic sight on my 6" beretta u22 neos

  • @TheMacmanr yes it can

  • @TheMacmanr what else would you use it for?

  • @TheMacmanr

    yes...sir...Beretta!

  • i cant belive no one has said anything about this DO NOT DRY FIRE A NON CENTERFIRE FIREARM it is horrible on your wepon

  • If you did some research you would know the neos is designed to be dry fired, it is the only way to decock this firearm. Take a look at the manual on Beretta's website.

  • @yamadog1134 How is it that much different than a centerfire? Its in the owners manual

  • this was the first gun i ever shot so comfortable and light recoil

  • Is the trigger adjustible? I like a very light trigger around 2.5lbs. Also is this accurate enought for match shooting?

Nice review and video, well done.

  • the trigger is adjustable only for the amount of slack on the pull, not the weight of the pull.

I use it for std pistol events and it seems to be up to the task

  • I asked for that for christmas with a BSA red dot.

There are gonna be some unhappy squirrels.

  • is Beretta planing on making it in .17 hmr2 ?

  • becareful cleaning it i cut myself cleaning the barrel

  • is this a good gun for my 14 year old son

  • I think it would be fine, it has very light recoil and is easy ti clean

  • i would recomend a browning buckmark

  • had a look at one of those today but me with big hands do not fit in the stock. big boys like me won't be able to shoot those

  • great, but be careful though.

The internal hammer scares me on these.

    I'm also 14 but I'm experienced enough.

I don't wanna sound like I know everything. I shoot My glock alot.

but besides that with rules of gun safety nothing bad should happen.

  • I don't think "Mad Max" would use one...j/k Good gun, nice vid.

  • - Apatience, How much did you buy that .22LR ? nice color...look like a good gun to me....I had a 92FS and 96FS. Plan to buy this one when on sale to complete my collection cabinet. Again, thank you for the infos.

  • $700AUD

  • - very good in details (just a little problems to understand) or just myself???

    - Where are you from apatience?

  • Melbourne, Australia

  • Thanks for the info, mate. I'm getting mine tomorrow!

  • Nice video! Good details. Thank you.

  • Out of this one and the S&W 22A Which one do u think is better?

  • sorry i have no experience with the S&W so can't comment

  • Thanks for the great review on how to field strip this gun. I bought it yesterday, went to the range, and now need to clean it right. Great job. Thanks for sharing info about the Neos U22.

  • Wow man, great video! I'm a novice gun owner and I just bought this exact gun myself. I've been worried about cleaning it but now I feel much better about doing the job myself.

    Thanks!!

  • This is a GREAT VIDEO. It is kind of entertaining at the same time. I have the shorter version NEOS and I'm very happy. I came to have it as a result of blowing up 2 Tomcat 3032 .32 acp semi auto models and it was a warranty exchange. The Tomcat is poorly designed and the frame cannot stand up under the blowback of the .32 round. Beretta has not changed this design - therefore I cannot recommend it. Look for you tube videos which document this problem. I am very happy with my Neos.THX. JAMES.

  • I also own a U22 and when you said that there's nothing special about the magazine, I disagree with that. What I like about it is it's thumb notch thing and that it is big enough to make it easy reloading the weapon, unlike some other magazines that have left my thumbs sore after a few reloads (sig sauer mosquito comes to mind). Your review is pretty accurate, and I agree with not liking the standard grip. Another thing I don't like is how uncomfortable it is when gripping it with the safety on.

  • My dad just bought one for the range, and its fun to shoot and the ammo is really cheap!

  • I found when i first got the gun i also had a few problems with stovepipe jams but this was resolved after about 400-500 rounds.

If you have the DLX model there is a screw on the trigger for adjustment of slack on the pull, I have found on mine that this also makes the trigger "feel" a bit lighter.

  • I just bought this gun and put through about 100 rounds. I was surprised at the number of stovepipe eject malfunctions.. like about 10 to 15%. I was using Eley Target (Brown box).. maybe it is the ammo.

I find the trigger very heavy.. is there an easy way to lighten the trigger pull?

  • I bought a U22 Neos last year and was able to clean it because of your video. Great job Andrew.

  • good video!

  • Great video, very informative... what was that song during the credits?

  • Given Up, by Linkin Park

  • is this 22mm neos gun deadly, besides getting shot in the head? I mean can I stop a robber with it if he was running from me?

  • its a 22 caliber not mm. and it will drop a man, but I would suggest a .45 smith and wesson.

  • This is probaly incorect but i heard that it took 3-4 shots to the nasal cavity to take down a man.... i personaly dont believe in that. but my question is, why would you shoot a robber if he is running from you???

  • Because he just robbed me and is running away with my stuff? :P

  • hey nice video .... did u buy it online or at a gun show if you bought it online can you give me the website thanx....

  • I got it from a local gun dealer

  • If you're still looking for the U22 Neos, check MC Sports in your area. That is where I bought mine yesterday for $269.00 plus sales tax.

  • Nice review, I am currently looking for a target gun, and I have fired the Neos but never have taken it down and now I know how!

  • good job

  • hey great vid! , how much do the neos U22 retail in australia for??

  • They are no longer available new in australia, they were worth about $1000RRP

  • Thanks for vid its help a lot

  • I own this gun as well, and have been extremely pleased with it. I will say that it must be cleaned well and regularly otherwise it will be susceptible to jamming. Also, I did some ammo tests and found that the Federal and American Eagle (both made by Federal) jam about once every 4 rounds fired. The Remington ammos almost never jammed and seemed to performed the best. For accuracy and over all quality you just can't beat the price. Also, it is convertible to carbine!

  • Nice review. Personally I prefer the Neos over the Walther P22. The Walther P22 is just so dang small in my hands that my pinky ends up not gripping anything. Rather uncomfortable. Also makes it hard to shoot accurately. No such issue with the Neos.

Also, I wouldn't worry about dry firing any gun that was made in the last 30 years or so. They can generally take it.

  • dude i have the exact same problem, i liked shooting the walther but it was just too tiny, the neos is a lot more comfortable in my opinion

  • Dry firing a centerfire pistol may be 'ok', but the .22LR cartridge is rimfire. You will definitely do damage dry firing it.

Either way -- centerfire or rimfire -- it's best to just use snap caps for dry firing. They're cheap, reusable, you can actually practice loading rounds into the magazine and into the chamber, and will prevent any damage from dry firing.

No sense causing potentially hundreds of dollars of damage when snap caps are available for a couple of bucks.

  • if you pull and hold the bolt back and hold the trigger down then let the bolt go it sould "de-cock" try it and tell me if it works. PLEASE

  • when you pull the slide even slightly out of battery the trigger is disconnected from the firing mechanism.

  • i have that same gun

  • Great vid, just picked the U22 up today. Just felt good in my hand. can't wait to fire it after watching your vid, reaaly glad I bought it now. Did I mention its a Christmas present for my wife lol may be buting a second one soon, Chow

  • Thanks for the response. Question #2, I've noticed how easy it is to field strip the Neos, which is appealing to me since I'm just getting started into shooting. However, in your 5000+ rounds of shooting, Have you notice any weakness because of how easy it is to take down?--release button, barrel nut etc.?

Q#3: I've heard the B. Buckmaster doesn't take Remington very well, for example. Does the Neos seem to take a variety of ammo well?

    Thanks.

  • APatience, Have you had any experience with the Ruger Mark III and/or the Browning buckmark? It seems you can find good things about all three of these (Beretta Neos included). Is that because they are all three good--in their different ways or would you say there might be one better than the other two?

  • Sorry, I have never handled either the buckmark or the Ruger Mark III. From people I have spoken to they all seem like decent guns, but without personal experience I can't say which one is best.

  • the buckmark is the best plinker i have ever owned or shot

  • same here, it's was my first gun, dad bought for my 15th birthday. i can demolish a can from 40 yards with it. awesome gun.

  • Great Video, I just picked one of these up today. It was used but like new with all accessories except the manual. On the up side it came with 6 mags and 2 sets of grips.

  • i am debateing between buying a walther p.22 or the bereta u22 neos. the neos is about $100 cheaper. what would you sugjest?

also is the neos amo sensetiv? and does it jam offten(if at all)?

  • I have never fired a walther p22 so can't really comment on that, I have put alot of different brands of ammo through this gun and have not had any problems, as far a jamming the neos need to be kept reasonably clean (i.e. clean every 500 rounds), and not over oiled but if you look after it you won't have any problems.

  • Is it made in usa or italy?

  • the U22 is currently made in the USA

  • How is the trigger pull, I have heard bad things about the trigger.

  • It is a bit on the heavy side, after you have used it for a while you do get used to it so it seems normal for me now

  • Thank you for responding to my question, I was thinking about getting either a Browning Buckmark, Ruger MKIII, or a Beretta U22 Neos and this helped.

  • A good review.

  • good review. just to make sure..you have to pull the trigger to remove the firing pin?

  • Yes, the trigger needs to be pulled to remove the firing pin

Just make sure you have a good grip before pulling the trigger.

  • k thanks
