  • it was originally composed by ivanovichi as an 8 (i think) part waltz suite, Donau Wellen Waltz, in French les Flots de Danube. In the late 20ies, or beginning of the thirties it was used by Al Jolson and Saul Chaplin and they used the first two parts for their "Anniversary Song". That shape became the most used form.

    according to ASCAP, the right are with Shapiro, Bernstein and Co.
