i didnt think i would ever see this game again, the power up system was way more innovative than any home computer game for its time. l simply adored this game on the c64 !! (i was about 15 or 16 when i played i, i am 40 now)
I used to play this at my neighbor's home upstairs from my flat like when I was 10 or less now i'm 30. One day he said the last night of playing at some part the zynaps ship stoped and a lil man came out and he played with it thru the game - I had to come down home coz of the hours. Now I see he was lying. Shit: and I was a fool to believe that. I was sad coz I didn't see that lil man's part of the game hehe.. Now I've got youtube and lot's of great ppl posting their memories too :)
What i adore so much about Zynaps is the feeling of the Scorpion, its like... to realy fly something, have you noticed that in no other Shmup the ship feels so special, to import this ship's habits into Gradius would be my dream.
Wish you'd let the title music run a bit longer. It was brilliant!

Two things I remember most strongly about Zynaps-
1) something about the way the game fires bullets is very satisfying, couldn't put my finger on what exactly
2) those ridiculous slowdowns when the screen gets too full.
Seeing the insane level of dodging skill required, I don't feel so bad that I never made it past level 4...

This was one of the few c64 shooters where you could fire more than two - three bullets on screen at once - maybe that's what you mean...
