The original recording of that tune -- not this one on You Tube -- was made by Mike Riley and Eddie Farley, who was my father's friend, from the Vailsburg section of Newark,NJ.Eddie Giordano`s band still performs this tune.(Great Modern day swing band)
The CLASSIC version of this song is the one by the Riley-Farley Orchestra (Decca 578), the band that introduced this goodtime jazz gem in 1935 and saw their version soar to #1 early in 1936. Other hit versions were by Tommy Dorsey, Hal Kemp and Frank Frieba -- all in 1936.
I know that is right. I have some of his music and enjoy it for much the same reason I do this one of Kenny's. I am limited in my ability to put good tunes together because of my work, so when I get back to the states, I'll be able to do more about it.
I mean to tell you it is! They're as tight as any of the well known big bands everybody knows about. The energy is incredible, but they show great personality in their arrangement too! I get a great kick of "feel good" when I listen to it!

Robert,
I just want to say I believe you'd love Louis Prima's version of the song too, if you don't already know all about it!
