You're suppose to keep your front arm lock on the saw to actaute the brake and keep the blade out of your forehead if you catch the blade tip on something.
yeahhh... I a greed w/ there's nothing better than doing your own fire wood nd splitting your fire wood i do it for fun.hahaha for real i like doing it.nd i keep warm out side or in side nd do a bit of exorcise.... oh now i'm looking for a Franklin stove haha.
@HomoGnosticus I think he means that you shouldn't stack your wood RIGHT next to your house. Not neccessarly a mile away. He said it could rot the wood of your house and attract pests to your home.
Thank you that was very well done, I like how you are wearing goggles and gloves, Chain saws are extremely Dangerous, The rig you built will make a straighter cut.
Gloves are for pussy's and their not gonna stop the chainsaw from cutting your fingers off. I dont want anything between me and the machine. I wanna have a good feel of exactly whats goin on.
@clholsinger u know what u talking about and i think exactly the same . btw hes gonna need special trousers as well instead of those jeans because that's not going to stop a 5 HP chainsaw beast 8P

2. Don´t stack wood near home?
So I´m supposed to carry my firewood over miles day by day? Sounds very practicable and has to be a real pleasure during winter.
As well not everybody has enough acreage to stack it in single rows and in the open.
Otherwise nice video, especially 1:33 was a great help for me. I´m going to build such a sawbuck soon.

What is a log splitter? Can you put up a video of how to use one?
ivankinsman 2 years ago
Nice upload, thanks. While my neighbor has a log splitter, I am out there mano a mano splitting wood with axe, wedge and sledge hammer like a man. :)
I do put a tarp when it rains then uncover after rain passes. That'll speed up drying even faster.
