Man if Death made a deal with me saying if I took a time machine and went to this show, but then dying right after the show is done, I'd be totally up for that.
@Boogieboy138 that is exactly what I was thinking if i had one wish it would be to see this show.... hey is there any other recordings of this show besides capital radio janie jones and garageland???
1 of their best numbers! An extraordinary band - they have real jewels and a lot of a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y non-energetic, greyish stuff at the same time! IMAO
Love the Clash. Saw 'em on the Combat Rock tour. You do know that with out The Stooges and Television, the London scene wouldn't have started right? Ramones UK tour sealed it. Read a book
im reading johnny rotten's(frontman of the sex pistols) autobiography and he's always dissing joe strummer on like every page, yet joe strummer is much more talented.
this is my idea of a Clash gig, there on fire here,.exciting stuff,.you just dont get bands any more that generate this much entertainment ,.. R,I,P JOE
This isn't capital radio two. They recorded different versions over time. This is just a live performance of Capital Radio. The added lyrics are joe's improvisation and its amazing.
Is this footage from a ten years on from the start of punk rock programme shown on channel 4 in 1986 and presented by tony wilson comprising of footage mostly taken from his 1970's show 'so it goes'.?
this is why i do not understand why the sex pistols and that sid vicious and nancy spungen hype's all about when clash, ramones and the stooges are so good, perfect debut by the way i love the varieties of music in that album.
Malcolm McLaren promoted the heck out of the Pistols and propelled their marketing machine...The Clash were a better put together and talented group of course, but the music industry is full of groups with meager talent and great promotion. The Clash got all they did on their own merits and talents...that means a lot.
I was in a garage band back in '81 thumping drums like Topper, songs like this were raw and fierce - where have all the garage bands gone - viva The Clash
I don't think Punk's dead.. I think it's just..hiding, for lack of a better word.
People aren't as politically aware nowadays and I think that reflects on the music, which is really too bad.
I think that if people started to care and make a scene, then Punk would come back. Haha, someone should start a band NOW. Fuck the Government the right way. Riot because you know something's not right! But I don't think Punk's dead, because The Clash will never die to me, along with other bands.
Joe had a brilliant mind, he just never learned how to lie. He just stood up and said what he thought. The most honest, the most brilliant, the most missed. RIP Joe, the most influential influence and the best fun ever at a rock gig
I used to go out with a guy who worked for The Clash & I saw this from 1980 on, from the wings, the sound board, the light tower, etc.I'm 51 now,& I might be old,but this NEVER gets old.BRAVO!
joe strummer besides lydon, the best frontman in the british punk rock. R.I.P. Joe.
Janies Jones was the first song of The Clash that i listened and this version is the best, one of my favorite songs from one of the best bands of all time
its not on the UK version. i own it. you can get it either on black market clash or the essential clash. theres also a different version called capital radio two on super black market clash and a live version on from here to eternity.

Rolling Stones = Brian Jones
Led Zepellin = john Paul Jones
Sex Pistols = Steve Jones
The Clash = Mick Jones
