  • I miss the original Iron Chef. Maybe @harto can do a takeoff on it for one of her #MDK eps.

  • Osada Makoto! like a boss

  • iron chef america has nothing on the original.. they should just re-air the originals..

  • 4:24 he bites it and it's so spicy he makes a funny face!

  • Tokyo style Chinese Spaghetti Sushi Noodles in the style of French Cooking.

  • it would be an interesting match up if Chen Kenichi was chosen instead

  • 2:05 Tokyo-style Chinese cooking? WTF?

  • @flightoftheicarus I think what they mean by Tokyo style Chinese cooking is Chinese cooking that was revised a bit in the way of Tokyo cuisine.

  • Always loved Kobe's entrance!

  • @thierryman kobe bryant? joking

  • My dream is to travel to Japan and sample every restaurant featured on this show.

  • Fuck yeah! I would love to sample Heichinrou and Enoteca Pinchiorri. But who am I kidding? I want to sample every restaurant as well.

  • this is like a nintendo ds game brought to life

  • @bleedingxhearts2 you might be onto something there, send it in!

  • 2.59 jizz face

  • @vAssassinate 2:59 face is very funny

    wkakakakakakakaka

  • It's interesting they didn't select Iron Chef Chinese to battle the Tokyo-style Chinese chef, but I guess Kobe was on a hot streak, so they selected the guy who would give Osada the greatest challenge at the time. Massive respect to all four Iron Chefs, of course.

  • Dang Masaharu Morimoto looks so dang young!!!!! haha. but still kicks ass to this day.

  • Iron chefs was the best shows. I love that shows episodes ever give them 100 ++++++++++

  • 9 people accidentally hit the dislike button :P

  • As a renowned culinary artist I must admit that I often watch this show with my jaw agape. The sheer culinary virtuosity and daring audacity displayed by these fine chefs are second to none. I have witnessed these visionary culinary craftsmen conjure dishes within an hour that most men could not possibly dream. What boldness! What creativity! I Bow to you Iron Chefs! Oh god!

  • @jonahfox If you are so renowned, how come you are on youtube? shouldn't you be cooking my dinner?

  • @GothChilde6969 I shall do it at once good sir.

  • I love that flamboyant chairman:)

  • I love how the chairman takes such huge bites of food

  • today's secret ingredient.....SOYLENT GREEN!!!!

  • Over-exaggerated poser.....

  • No comments......A man stares at what he chooses to eat, slowly put it near to his mouth, quickly bite it, then smile and savor it. Same routine for three different dishes.....Why so emo?

  • I like the Japanese one because... If memory serves me right, The competitors were actual masters of the food they were cooking and dedicated there lives to a certain style of cooking and pitted against the iron chefs, American Iron chef doesn't have that.

  • @NotTheWheel 3-star Michelin Chefs have been Challengers on (Japanese) Iron Chef.

  • The Japanese iron chefs are so much better. The chairman created Iron Chef to encounter "new original cuisines". Masaharu Morimoto is the only one who does that on Iron Chef America. Everyone else just makes dishes they already know or substitutes the secret ingredient in for something they would normally lose. Go Japanese Iron Chef!

  • @ericatmarinmma That's why nobody ever challenged Morimoto. No one's afraid of Cat tho.

  • You think the Iron chef is good, wait until we bring IRON Mike Tyson on there.

  • They not men, they are gods....

  • MY family loves this show when i was young.

  • Hahaha, you should look at their faces.

    *Show Giant Lobsters

Both of them..."Wtf.....am I supposed to do with that"

  • @Syouke didn't they already know the ingredient even before it started? :)

  • @usneakylittlebastard Actually, they were given a short list of around 5 possible ingredients and would normally prepare accordingly.

  • i love cooking shows :)

  • i love all cooking shows because i don't know how to cook.but i want to learn!

  • *gibberish *gibberish ....IR-ON CHEF

    I loved this show.

  • Iron Chef Japan was sooooooooo much better than the lame US version. and i gotta luv the fact that the chairman says everything in japanese except "iron chef".

  • I got a question... how come the head honcho of Iron Chef has subtitles when everyone else has a voice actor

  • @Megarexx1 because he is the chairman... and a pimp

  • @MorganRNReid the chairman's a pimp?

  • @Megarexx1 ok he's not a real pimp but he definitely dresses like one.

  • ... Could someone explain why the Iron CHef Italian is going up against a Chinese food Chef? I must have missed it. XD

    Awesome show. Just. Awesome.

  • every moment is so intense

  • Love how Kobe always ascends with his own fucking orchestra and everything.

  • 2:59 ooo i think i broke a tooth

  • why were the Iron chefs Italian and French Asians? that sucks..

  • @benedicttubio Does it matter if they were white, black, yellow, or whatever type of person? Cooking is not limited to certain people. Don't be ignorant.

  • @tvu86 no...my point is that a native real italian and french that would represent iron chef italian and french would be better..the rest like the japanese and chinese Iron chefs that represent they're own cuisine, i didn't mind coz its better that way. I didn't say cooking is limited to certain people..you just think im racist.

  • @benedicttubio

perhaps your initial comment should be more tactfully worded to avoid coming across as someone who sees colour as superiority.

also, the show is rather old and the Japanese back then were not exactly open to non-Japanese, even if the latter were better at creating dishes of their own cuisines. so really, it isn't surprising that both the French and Italian cuisines were headed by Japanese chefs =)

  • @benedicttubio Because the Japanese are better. :p

  • @engaurd that's not what I meant, I just think that such impressive lobsters deserved a more seasoned chef than Kobe. Of all the Iron Chefs Kobe is the least amazing. I'd rather have any one else tackle on such an ingredient, that's all.

  • 7:02 Kobe looked like "WTF?!"

  • 5:58 - freaking EPIC. I want my own chamber orchestra to play for me whenever I'm introduced >.<

  • It sucks that Kitchen Stadium closed. But when I make it big, I swear to God I'm gonna recreate this in my house and televise this shit myself!

I also want the chairman's wardrobe; dude knows how to dress.

  • i love this show..!!

  • FUKUI-SAAAAAAAAAN!

  • 2:59 Fuckin hilarious

  • Look how satisfied the host is after he bits into a yellow pepper in at about 4 mins in.. lolllll

  • Sweet Jesus, those lobsters are older than me! And it's a shame that it's Kobe taking on this challenge

  • Stainless Steel Chef....

  • i didn't even know crustaceans can live that long.

  • I like any episode where the ingredient is still alive.

  • @rjakobi me too! damn . i love the adrenalin when killing crustaceans :D its like, im already full before its cooked!

  • I don't watch Iron Chef America anymore its just not the same as the original iron chef... I i wish they brought this back on air

  • man... those lobsters must have cost 5 grand a pop :O!

  • I like how theres an orchestra surrounding Kobe during his ascend. Its just so cool!

  • I love Iron Chef, and love this lobster battle.

  • i love this show

  • WOSCAG PUCK

  • The Vilon Guy is A Women

  • Kobe is Not iron Chef Italian

  • This guy look so young and probably is more than 40 years old, Lucky guy.

  • I love the intro music

  • what other show do you ahve where u have your own orchestra!!??? greeat stuff

  • This has got to be the most epic Iron Chef entrance of all time. I know the challenger was intimidated.

  • 0:24 Om nom nom nom nom nom. That never failed to crack me up.

  • 6:50 Lol the look on the Iron Chef's face.

  • BOYCOTT SHARK FIN SOUP

  • I forgot how decadent this battle was. 30 year old spiny lobster? LOL!

  • what's the song from big o called?

  • @mastershinobikakashi it's called stoning is that good for you?

  • i can't imagine an asian italian chef

  • I like the Big O theme.

    BIG O. COOKING TIME!!!

Cast in the name of Mcdonalds, would you like fries with that?

  • does that guy bite a yellow bell pepper at the beginning of every episode or is it just a replay

  • I love it when he unveils the ingredients. It's like he's unveiling a nuclear missile.

  • kobe looks like such a premadona, the kind of guy that would pick a fight and then call the police and claim harrasment.

  • kobe lobster is lobster fed with kobe beef LOL

  • 4:31 rape face. i'm just sayin

  • How much screen time is devoted to Takeshi Kaga just biting into stuff?

  • @Okin17 not enough

  • @Okin17 roughly 90% of the entire seasons i think

  • this show if fun

  • Super dramatic.

  • I fucking miss this show D:

  • This lobster battle is NO CRAB BATTLE!!!!111one

  • I like the Japanese Iron Chef because the secrets ingredients were more exotic. The US version has some really boring ingredients. On one show, the secret ingredient was ground beef. I mean come on!

  • @zer0mission the chairman on the american version is a total poser

  • @johnbu1981 Not really related, Alton Brown and the Chairman (B-movie actor Mark Dascosos, not really related to the original Chairman), are douche's. So Foodnetwork also lies to us. They suck, watch the travel channel, way better.

  • @johnbu1981 Alton Brown and the Chairman (B-movie actor Mark Dascosos, is not really related to the original Chairman), are douche's. So Foodnetwork also lies to us. They suck, watch the travel channel, way better.

  • Also the American version now has like 7 Iron Chefs because of Food Network capitalizing the next iron chef show to the fullest. Theres no pride in being a American iron Chef. because apparently one person a year can become one.

  • I agree, the original is the best, but you have to remember that the ingredients were culturally normal. We don't eat much sea urchin roe, but they do in Japan. Ground beef is boring to us, but to an Indian viewer (Taj Mahal indian), it might be strange.

  • there was the garbanzo bean challenge.

I can only think of one dish that needs garbanzo beans.... :P

  • @zer0mission

It's the over all presentation that makes it better. The original Iron Chef is really like watching an awesome battle... with food. The build up, the setting, the music, ect. Everything is absolutely better.

  • @zer0mission Wow was it really? I used to watch this Iron Chef but ive never caught the new one, glad I havent.

  • @zer0mission I think ground beef is a pretty good secret ingredient. How many dishes can normal people name off of the top of their head made with ground beef? Hamburgers, tartar, meatloaf, hamburger stew, hamburger steak, tacos...I think using ground beef takes a lot of creativity to make something truly inspirational.

  • @TonyTriggers But they didn't do anything creative with it. The first things they gravitated towards were exactly the things you listed - hamburgers, meatballs, and tartar. It was a predictable menu list.

  • @zer0mission Food Network screws everything they touch.

  • @zer0mission Iron Chef America: "And todays SECRET ingredient IS........ WHITE BREEEEEEEEAD!!"

  • I like both iron chef shows. Its gives you a different view of culture.

  • original one was better i think both in terms of chefs and host

  • iron chef america is getting there, hopefully once the hosts settle in and get their sh*t together it will be as good as the japanese version. Remember the Japanese version ran for like 10 years

  • Iron Chef America is in it's 8th season.

  • I LOVED this show- enjoyed Morimoto and Chen Kinichi doing their stuff. Can't believe Food Network doest air this any more. . .instead we're treated with the crap US version. . .-_-

  • @BlueFox284 Hey, it's not completely crap because Morimoto is on it. ;)

  • Its on FLN channel at 11 pm eastern during the week. i love it.

  • awesome!!

  • iron chef japan is better than america

  • I agree. American version tries WAY too hard. I mean, come on. The chairman's NEPHEW?! And the DRAMA. The new "chairman" flails in the most ridiculous fashion. It DOES have Alton Brown, though. :3

  • Yeah the american show is far too dramatic. It tries so hard to be intense that it somehow ends up being boring. Iron Chef Japan is able to pull of drama and intensity without feeling the need to resort to shaky cameras (which is less intense and more annoying) and fast editing. Also the American show doesn't have as many interesting special ingredients.

  • MAN MORIMOTO was still there,, he was young.

  • Chairman Kaga kicks ass! And so does this show! It keeps you at the edge of your seat! D:

  • The Japanese version of Iron Chef in my opinion is the best cooking show ever!

  • I think the Chairman is funny :D

  • I can't believe they took this off of The Food Network Channel :(

  • It's still on Fine Living Network at 11pm EST weeknights

  • its on cooking channel girl@XxangelcaxxX

  • @XxangelcaxxX

    It's on the Cooking Channel M-F @ 11pm EST.

  • @XxangelcaxxX I know that sucks! They ought to have this on the USA network but, they've got this on the Cooking Channel @ 11pm weeknights!

  • Iron chef ingredients were also alot cooler than iron chef americas. I mean, Giant lobsters! also it seems like the american version is just a friendly competition between friends. The REAL iron chefs had rival cooking school chefs challenge them for pride. It made you actually root for the iron chefs.

  • the dude tht bites out of a bell pepper in teh beginning, he does tht in every episode. hes gonna eventually get tired of tht taste lol

  • My friend informed me a while back that it's actually his favorite vegetable.

  • oh....

  • One of the reasons why Iron chef America sucks compaired to the old is no Variety. What I mean is they challenged chefs from all over the world, the new one does not. They had chefs from all over the asian culture as Iron chefs. The only reason why they are having a challenge right now is because they are losing ratings because they have the same old white men and one asian to mix it up. Although Morimoto is the best one he seems to lose the most WoW. He puts heart and soul into his food.

  • HIROYUKI SAKAI- The best Iron Chef Ever!!!

  • i know!!!!!!!! that guy is beastly

  • 30 year old lobsters !?!?!?

  • That is quite the bite at 0:23

  • 6:10 Another reason why Iron Chef America is not as good as original: NO MINI ORCHESTRAS!!

  • Iron Chef is better than

    Iron Chef America

  • Always will be.

  • @boog301 Definitely. It just has a certain flair and mystique that's just not in ICA.

  • @boog301 Yes, there's nothing like the Original. The one from the USA seems so lame and fake. The music at the beginning is so powerful.

  • @boog301 Agreed. But Alton Brown and Kevin Brosh are pretty awesome.

  • @boog301 Yeah man! Ain't that the truth baby! I loved that show and now it's on the Cooking Channel @ 11pm weeknights!

  • @boog301

That's like saying pizza is better than starvation. The only logical response i can give you is "NO SHIT."

  • I'll always love you Diana. Take care of D and the "porkchops" in FLA ;-)

  • Chairman Kaga is my role model...

  • i love iron chef, its better than the american iron chef though, i like the jap presenter, hes a cool dude

  • is iron chef america the one with some lame white guy with glasses as the host?

  • 5:59 - CAST IN THE NAME GOD. YE NOT GULTY!

Man I love the Big O

  • I said that out loud! Even more awesome is the fact that the Italian iron chef outfit looks a little like Big Fau XD

  • Yes, I was wondering if anyone else noticed that

  • 3:00-3:02 I bet he's probably thinking,"Ou! I think I have a tooth ache... ...!"
