  • ohh this is so beatiful can i have the rom please the map is so ***

  • This is one of my fav levels! ~mrivan97

  • This is the best custom level I have seen in SM64

  • @Skelux please can you tell me where the other entrance in gloomy garden is?

  • @frankycalcina94 The Vanish Cap course IS the secret entrance.

  • @skelux

  • Banjo Kazooie textures! I could tell, cause I'm a huge BK fan.

  • sorry i have a question......what type of progamm you use for do this hack ?????? Thank you very match

  • Damn nice work! Keep it up!

  • Comment removed

  • @Camden1101 Great of you to take offense to that, considering I obviously didn't expect you to really do it. I replied to your expression in mock seriousness.

  • Comment removed

  • @Camden1101 I hardly 'bailed'. I've been working harder these 6 months than I was before them. I'm just doing everyone a favour by not spoiling 90% of the game, which is difficult to resist the temptation, I might add. This whole time, however, I've been keeping everyone who views my channel up-to-date.

  • @Camden1101 were not losin interest, this hack is way better than thos peices of shit u make, i can make em better, my 4 year old neice could make them better than u u piece of shmit

  • @MrBannanaman1000 Cool, troll.

  • @Camden1101 i dont troll, sryy i just tell the truth

  • @MrBannanaman1000 well... 99.9% of the people that know me like me. So if all you are is that 0.1%, then your opinion doesnt matter, troll.

  • @Camden1101 Ignoring my channel comments? It will be out in the next couple of weeks. I request a video of you eating your hat.

  • nintendo, i believe i have found you a level designer

  • Is there a ROM for this, so we can play it on an emulator, or will we have to play it on the Wii?

  • @sonicmike1995 Why would you HAVE to play it on Wii? It's most likely a patch. That means it can be patched onto any rom, regardless of whether you Homebrew this crunk onto Wii or not. Yes, it can most likely be played on Emulator.

  • I were never expecting to say this... but this looks more fun than original SM64 :o. *Woah*

    Sry my bad english.

  • its gonna be realesed on christmas

  • The best hack i' ve ever seen so far (not only of SM64)

  • Release :x ?

  • @Mawwo7 There isn't an official date yet, but we most likely can download the patch by the end of the year or the first days of 2012. Skelux have to fix the bugs, and add some custom objects (that aren't be in the original SM64). You can follow the Star Road progress in his channel.

  • @RF941 Thanks a lot dude :)

  • @RF941 the first day of 2012 ??? thats too far away :P

  • @supermario3459 I know, it's a long waiting, but there will be many custom objects such as bosses, enemies, and a new title sreen. I can't wait for the patch!!

  • @Mawwo7 i think it will be released at mid-november

  • For the green slime river: may you can have some chances to move it. If you see Frauber's video: "Gameshark code: Shifting Colors & Textures", but I don't have technical knowledge to help you...

  • Amazing, your level design is great.

  • Do u use Toads Tool 64 or another program.Plz tell me! i want to hack SM64 badly!

  • The music reminds me of Star Fox 64.

  • I noticed you implemented some of the platforms from Rusty Bucket Bay. Am I correct? :)

  • we cant wait till this is out make a demo of this so we play that while ur making this

  • Awesome,awesome,awesome!!! :)

  • those barrels in the acid... could they by any chance b in Banjo Kazooie? cuz they look REALY familiar. XD lol but anyways awesome map! :D

  • found you :P and btw check your inbox

  • Yeah!!! This video has a dislike now!

  • @123LittleBastard You suck.

  • @123LittleBastard Geuss what, THIS VIDEO HAS 41 FAVORITES WHAT NOW!? (What a jerk)

  • @BrockisAwesome24

He's either trolling or just... well, just trolling actually.

  • 0:24 What is behind that door...?

  • Still your best designed level to date.

  • clankers cavern hole in the wall!! :D anyway this level is freakin AMAZING!!

  • I like that there are many ways to navigate the level. That always makes a hack more fun!

  • Epic ? Blocks!

  • Hole in the wall Banjo Graphics??

  • I wish you could set custom controls for the old games. They let you do it in Brawl...

  • Is there a rom of this? If so, where can I download?

  • Comment removed

  • hey??? GOT A Question...

I don't Understand the READ ME.... in the download file....

    can you explain it...

    please

  • Ahh, Now I know the music to this course, BattleRock Galaxy off SMG...

  • BTW Whats Wii64?

  • WOW!!!! How do you do that?? Im a beast at designing levels in games where your supposed to be able to do that, but I REALLY want to make some with SM64. And how do you import music into levels?

  • cool i wish they would have used the bullet bills and the chain chomps more in the game

  • Ah.

  • Very nice! A bit laggy but creative.

  • @Revelation20k It's just the recording that's laggy.

  • I think SMRPG's "Factory"- music would be better.

  • by far best sm64 custom levels ever.

  • you should put out a .PPF of the hack so far

  • The green "slime" hurts you?

The little "holes" on the wall... those do ANYTHING?

I swear that I heard that track before.

    YAYZ FOR RETRO ?-BLOCKS!!!!!

  • @TheMMMMMMARIO

    The green acid is death.

The holes in the wall are used in a later star.

  • @Skelux Ooooohhh thanks... :)

  • @TheMMMMMMARIO mario galaxy 1

  • @TheMMMMMMARIO And the song is from Super Mario Galaxy 1 I believe? Just sounds a little more retro.

  • @TheMMMMMMARIO The holes in the wall are from Banjo kazooie...

  • Dude, your levels are so full of badass; it's just ridiculous.

I've been working up to put together some complex levels myself.

I would have to say, that out of all of the mario 64 hacks I've seen so far, yours are the coolest / most intricate.

  • This is so cool! I can't wait until it's finished.

  • Really good man. How do you come up with the cool level designs?

  • So, there are multiple missions inside this level like the original Super Mario 64?

  • What you do for custom textures work?

Then im trying to add custom textures,in game its changed to haunted house textures!

  • 3:05 WHAT'S IN THE PIPE????!!!

  • Looks fun, but confusing!

  • skelux do a demo please

  • can u play this on PJ64 to?

    also

I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE! UR MAKING SO MANY COOL LEVELS AND I CANT DOWNLOAD THEM YET AAAAAAAAAAARGGGG >:(

    XDXD

  • I'm stoked. Any chance this will work on a real N64 when it's done?

  • @CommodoreKulor If you have a way of getting it on an n64 and also have a memory expansion pack, it should work. I think there are levels that would run quite slowly, though.

  • @Skelux your are right but several levels might freeze or even corrupt the rom but its worth a try. = ) oh and i love the levels!

  • It´s incredible. O.o

  • Can't wait for the release!

  • i love the remix of the mario galazy music! level looks hard

  • This could end up being better than the original. I know it sounds like blasphemy, but Skelux has taken a lot of risks in his level designs that work very well, raised the difficulty of the levels and combined game elements in unique ways while only adding a few new elements.

This is amazing, keep it up.

  • Nice, but what happened to Bob-Omb Battle Island?

  • @Eggs6131 It's just Bob-omb island. The levels are so far apart in the game I decided it was ok to have it in 2 names

  • nice mario galaxy reference :p

  • This is by far the best mario mod I have seen. Gives me goosebumps thinking about the finished product :D

  • Your map making skills have impressively improved map by map. great job! can't wait to play the finished project!

  • good!

  • Battlerock Galaxy music!

  • About the video quality, if you just want the game to be recorded at a smooth framerate, you could set the window size to 320x240 and record from that.

The quality won't look too bad when watching the video on YouTube in non full-screen because the video is shown small and by doing that the video will likely be smooth without having to upgrade your computer.

  • Too epic.

  • This is the best sm64 level disiegn I've ever seen! Keep up the good work!

I am also working on a hack but progress has been VERY slow becuase I've been playing Minecraft. But anyway just keep up the good work.

  • Why is it the best experience to play it on the Wii using Wii64 and Super Mario Galaxy controls? You can connect a Wii Remote and Nunchuck to the PC using Bluetooth and use those same controls.

  • @Blaster1001010101 Not all of us have bluetooth

  • @Skelux Still, it isn't the best experience, like you said it is.

  • I know I've commented on almost EVERYTHING you've uploaded.

But can I ask a few questions?

    1. How did you get your textures to NOT come out in big messy triangles?

    2. And how do you insert macro objects like red coins, blue coins, etc.

If you answered these I would be greatly appreciated.

  • @MasterJakeStudios

1: Make the texture scale large enough that it does not stretch the texture

    2: Use Toads Tool 64

  • @Skelux

    Oh, thanks.

  • Simply the best SM64 hack level so far. It truly looks and feels like a legitimate level from Nintendo themselves. Fantastic!

  • Man this is awsome! :D

  • what settings you use to create m64 files with mml2m64/musicXML?

  • If God created sm64 levels, they would look similar to Skelux's.

  • with progress at this speed, shall we expect a full release within the coming months? cant wait :-D

  • Dewd this is amazing... i.. i don't even know wut to say.. star road shall be more popular than that cheesy star road crap in smw

  • @supermariow0rld I didn't name it Star Road for nothing ;). I am giving star road a whole new meaning, bringing back the secret world from smw back with a brand new story that will change your interpretation of "star road" forever.

One of my goals for sm64sr's popularity is to get it googled enough times that it shows up instead of star road from smw.

  • Did you take that green lava stuff from Rusty Bucket Bay from Banjo Kazooie?

  • Wow, did this go over course 15 (Rainbow Road) or something? This levels immensely large! I love this, your best level yet. Also, If I could make a suggestion, could you make your next level upload a bonus level instead of a full out feild? I'd like to see what kind of mini-levels or epic slides you can come up with?

  • @Wolliap Nope, tick tick clock. All levels have the same amount of space.

Good idea, I was planning on making desert side level soon anyway :)

  • @Skelux Huh, sounds about right then, but do all levels really contain the same amount of space? I figured Whomp's Fortress and Tall,Tall Mountain would really be different memory-wise.

I really want to see how that desert mini'll end up. :D

  • @Wolliap All levels allow the same amount of space. Some of my levels give the illusion of being larger from compacting lots of obstacles into small spaces. The levels are fine up to around 6500 faces before freezing, though it's best not to go that far anyway since it sometimes gives errors once you start placing objects in the level.

"Sandy Slide Secret" is complete. I've put as much work into it as any other main level, so it's turned out very nice. After the next 2 levels ill post a vid. :)

  • @Skelux Ah, so it really is based on how much you can cram into an area without taking space.I'll definately remember that. I highly doubt My levels would exceed 3500 trangles anyway :P.

So this slide may intrest me though. I've yet to see someone use that concept along with sand, and since you worked just as jard on it as any other level, I'm pretty sure it'll be one hell of a slide.(And maybe one people'll find shortcuts of :P)

  • @Lugmillord @mazzahackar You guys can PM me if you'd like, I can just upload the textures and give you a link, or show you how. Just PM me, I' tell you.

  • THAT, is incredible stuff. the entirety of the SM64-hacking community needs to see this. i have been hoping for something of this quality to emerge ever since people started using toad's tool (most hacks i've seen have had random arbitrary stuff thrown around everywhere, where as this very obviously has a lot of character and effort put into it.) KUDOS. it will surely be great when it's finished.

  • The level design is just awseome. This level is one of the best Super Mario 64 levels I've ever saw.

  • this map is similar to the ones of super mario galaxy.

but on the other hand i do not like too big maps

  • Wow, this hack will be really awesome.

Your getting faster lately, don't you?

I may finish a course today and then there four left for my hack. The last three courses (14,15,Bowser 3) will be much better then the previous ones. Can't let you get ahead that much :O

    xD

  • augh this level is beautiful

  • Wow! This is the best hack I have seen so far of SM64. Let me know when it's done where I can download it, I'd love to Let's Play it!

  • This is the Battlerock Galaxy of the N64 version. I"m very impressive of your levels and you'd never mistaken of it, good job though. *high five*

  • Where do you get all your textures? and i cant belive how big this level is O.o

  • You, sir, are the Jesus of the hacking community. I'm envious x~x;

One small question. How do you get the transparent patches in the grills at 0:13? For me, they show up as black, instead of invisible.

  • @Mazzahackar yes... I'd like to know that, too, before I can release SM74 xD

  • @Lugmillord Download gimp, add a see-through alpha channel layer, rub out the invisible bits, save as png.

  • Truly impessive.

  • Wow, great level, you're really good. It's really big.

By the way, how did you put the behaviour to the wall in 1:08?

  • @Crater14X When y ou import a level, go to the "Collisions "Tab and choose the texture you want to be like that, then scroll down on "15. Climbable hills" i think

  • @EmilSM64 Thanks, but I've got a problem: that section un locked, HELP!! PLEASEE!!

  • I never liked SMG, but this makes me like it.

  • This level has that Super Mario Galaxy style and I like this. However, you should make all of your levels for download. You're giving us these teases showing off how awesome these levels are but they're not out yet. These teases going on for months make me lose hope for the full hack itself.

  • @SuperMario9080 The fact that I keep uploading these is proof the game is getting closer and closer to being released.

  • I can't wait to play this on Wii64 (Google that if you don't know what that is).

  • DUDE This is epic. When do you think everything will be finalized and ready for publication?

  • Comment removed

  • Very neat work. I am sure with all this creative level design that you'll have a great hack published in the future.

  • can you go inside that place if so epic and the outside is epic keep up the good work

  • AAAAAWWWWEEEESSSSSSSOOOOOOMMMMMMMMEEEEE!!!!! :D

  • My jaw literally dropped in the first few seconds! :O

This is amazing! Skelux, I can not wait for the release of this! :D

  • this hack is similar toads tool 64 v 6....Cause its never coming out! lol jk man looks good...

  • The toxic barrels looks ripped from BK lol.

  • :) Looking great as always

  • I think the level has beat the rest, amazing quality, great work!

  • I noticed how well you've positioned textures, good thing I recently learned how to do so myself :3 Nicely done, this is my favorite level to ever be imported to SM64. Music was a great match and level kicked ass. Expecting more for your hack!

  • CANT WAIT FOR THIS HACK!!!!!

  • You, sir, deserve a very large cookie. This might be the most epic thing to happen, ever.

Although, just a word of advice on the music, the part at 0:56 needs some bass, and you should probably fix the looping.

  • Wow very awesome! Personally, it's my fav level of your hack so far :3

Also.. it reminds me to a Banjo-Kazooie level.. I've noticed you used some textures from that game hehe :D

  • Oh wow! There are so many things I love about this level! All of your levels are great, but this one; this one simply takes the cake. Your creativity is unrivaled in the hacking community. I hope you make backups of your progress so if anything happens to your PC, you'll always have a place to fall back on.

    Great job as always-thumbs up!

  • @Chancer4ever Thanks :). Don't worry, I have around 20 backups which i make every time i finish a level. They are also safely stored on a reliable, fresh usb.

  • Holy Crap! This looks fucking awesome! Amazing Level design and good choice of music, too :3
