Guys I want to clear some things about this video. First, This video was shot in Turkey. Second, the car that you see on the righthand side of the the road at 3:43 is a police car. Third, in Turkey most of the cops set their radar signal at the longest range because they never suspect that you use a radar detector.

you never know for sure.. a v1 would prob do the same thing if he had one in there.. i have an x50 as well and love it.. this just shows that an x50 is right along with a v1.. all charts ive seen still show a v1 having the strongest detection. but hey.. you cant go wrong with either one! i went to gatlynberg last week and my x50 saved me about 7 times from the same cop all week sitting in different areas each day of the week.. they are worth the money trust us everyone!! just dont go cheap!!

All the V1 has ever been is hype thats it nothing eles its not even in the same league as detectors like the X50 and the fact that the V1 has so many false alerts proves this to me. Everyone talks about the arrows and how importent they are well I have been ticket free and my detector was not made by Mike Valentine. [thank god] By the way the X50 is no longer the best check out the Passport 9500IX it destoryed the V1 as it can see radar from well over 9 miles away. The V1 cant do that.

I've read some of the tests of which you speak...Car & Driver, etc. I've tried the others and whole-heartedly prefer the V1's patented arrows and 'bogey counter' to see where the radar signal is coming from, how many radar signals you're being bombarded and hate driving without it.

Why is it so hard for some of you to figure out this is an Escort Passport 8500 x50. Duh, yes this range is possible in situations like this. Look at the freakin' road he's driving on, it's straight as a board and flat as can be. In low humidity, on a road like this, you most certainly can get this long of a range from oncoming radar. These are IDEAL conditions.

nearly all radar detectors are VG2 undetectable now, except the cheap ones, i have a Beltronic V995 and i find it works great, for sure i wont pick up a radar 4 miles away, but it saved my ass plenty of times.

They don't use VG-2 (Old and out dated) anymore they now use Spectre and there are only 2 detectors undetectable The BELL STi Driver and  PASSPORT 9500ci. So your Bell Vector 995 will be detected it they use Specre

On most radar detectors, even the cheap cheap ones you have an auto quiet mode that alerts you then gives much quieter status updates.....mine for example is a Whistler, and you can turn on the mode where it will beep 3 times and then it clicks as long as the alert lasts acting like a geiger counter, getting more insistent as the signal gets stronger......

When the cops are running speed enforcement they are breaking the law and other regulations if they have the radar tracking you all the time. 1st they must visually estimate your speed then after developing a "tracking history over 3 to 5 seconds" sometimes upwards of 10 seconds then and only then are they supposed to activate the radar to 'verify" their estimate. In the real world we know this is a big lie but video like this proves they too become lawbreakers trying to catch speeders.
