  • J'aime Amélie!!!!! ^_^

  • *Sigh* This is one of my favorite scenes of all times!

  • 01:05, 01:15--I don't speak French but I believe I can understand this:

Nino: Excuse me, Is this you?

    Amelie: (shakes head)

    Nino: Then who is it?

Amelie: (thinks for a minute before replying) I don't know!

    Pretty scene! :)

  • I'm sure we've all felt that hundreds of times. You go into a store, see someone that just looks beautiful, and you just keep looking at them, fantasizing about that person just walking up to you as love-stricken as you are with them. And you melt when you see this person leave, knowing that you won't be with that person, and your feelings are left in you.

  • what SONG is this?????????

  • @Poet2916 its called guilty....you can find as guilty amelie sountrack on youtube! :D

  • how does she write backwards so elegantly? XD

  • We have all felt this, 2605va --

  • I have felt that too...:(

  • Comment removed

  • "do you believe in miracles?"

    -"...not today." :(

  • She has neater handwriting than me writing backwards then me writing the right way ._.

  • //.uL ...ainorcnis...

  • it's my favorite part of the scene.

I wish there's someone to make me feel like that again

  • was that one actor who gave the thumbs up in city of lost children as the clones?

  • @InvertedBomber

Yes precisely! Son nom est Dominique Pinon. Great actor... who's been working a lot with Jean-Pierre Jeunet since his debut.

  • Is it a sin, is it a crime loving this movie like I doooo if it's a crime then i'm guilty.

  • @laurarox01 Just like in the song! :)

  • is it me or she wrote "oui" below the "special of the day"? it is at 1:25. I cant see it very well from here, but when i watched the complete movie i noticed that

  • I felt like this today.

  • @g00dapple Awwww, well, I think we have all felt this way!

  • 2:00

  • i enjoy this movie so much that i've seen it probably more than 100 times =] i'm so glad my sister was bored the day we rented this movie... otherwise, we never would have walked around the video store and we never would have rented this movie... haha, it was 7-8 years ago since! ...i think the thing that i love the most about this movie, asides from the beautiful yann tiersen soundtrack, is Amelie's failture to see that no matter how much she helpes people, she isn't able to help herself.

  • cont.--- it's a universal dilemma =] we're better at helping others than helping ourselves... but i just love the ending... so romantic!

  • ilove this scene :)

  • my favorite.

  • Has anyone noticed that when she writes "Menu du jour" on the board, she's actually wrting backwards? 'Cause it appears the right way on the other side of he glass...

  • Yeah, I was just looking at that. I'm impressed - I can't write backwards that simply!

  • Love this scene.

So funny and I can relate.

That is truly the feeling of a woman if her love interest doesn't notice her and she cannot tell that man that she has feelings for him.

We are bound to wait for the guy to tell us, that he loves us.

    You know, it's a woman's pride.

    Men don't understand that!

I love when Amelie melts, you can see the regret in her face! Very funny!

Audrey really did a good job in potraying the character of Amelie!

She's really cute in doing this movie.

    SUPERB!

  • Au contraire, men understand the feeling precisely and experience the same disappointments.

After all, if I couldn't relate to this clip, and Amelie's emotion, I wouldn't have posted it!

And part of the beauty of this is that he was gone the instant that Amelie decided to tell him who she was

  • increible...

  • lol that look around 1:22 'welllll then!'

  • Favourite movie of all time....

  • the last part of this scene is how I feel right now....

  • Same.

  • Yes, me too.

  • me three

  • me too! Ah!

  • oh gosh i so love this scene, and the look of sadness she has when she turns around and watches him walking away, its absolutly perfect

  • The entire movie is perfect. Someone the other day asked me what some of my favorite movies are and Amélie was the very first one that came to mind.

  • i love the melting part!

  • It's brilliant, is it not?

  • this is my favorite scene in the movie!!!!!

  • The melting part is so me right now... I feel just like that :-(

  • One of my all-time favorites...and no secret!

  • This movie is always secretly in my heart...not anymore..hihi

  • Ahh, love.

  • And FEAR!! Heh.

  • Love this scene. Audrey is amazing in it, she gets every moment and detail right.

  • I once thought I was in love with Audrey, but I was actually in love with Amélie.

  • lovely..

  • This is such a human experience. It's why we all end up here writing about it! The film too is based on humanity. It's extraordinary, humourous, sad and touching-like life itself.

  • I bet her heart was thumping hard when he smiled at her and determined that the girl in the photo is indeed her, "Yes, it is you!" :) Wow, I see alot of people relating to this scene! :D

  • You can almost hear heart heart thumping, can't you?

  • If you've ever fallen in love, then you can identify with the awkwardness of those early weightless moments....ah!

  • My pleasure!

  • I can most defintley relate! I want to wear a bag over my head every time I run in to my crush.((blushing)))As soon as he leaves I want to melt too!

  • Wow! look how fast Amelie writes backwards!

  • I have already melt like Amélie did in this scene...it´s so sad:(

  • Man, I wish this had subtitles.

  • The only words spoken in this scene are Nino saying "I this you?" (referring to the photograph), and then, when she shakes her head no, he says "It IS you!"

  • This scene doesn't need words, really. Lovely.

  • I LOVE THIS SCENE, it's the definition of "so close, yet so far".

  • She's a lot like me =) ...

  • A wonderful scene...and I love the version of "Guilty" from the soundtrack, but I never realized this is the scene it plays in! It's perfect for it!

  • demaciado buena esta escena la dura :D

  • bu sahneyi anlatarak kiz arkadasimla birlikte olmaya basladim

    perfect scene!

  • most powerful scene in the movie.. merci!

  • what's the song that plays? it's beautiful.

  • "Guilty" is a popular song published in 1931. The music was written by Richard A. Whiting and Harry Akst. The lyrics were written by Gus Kahn.

  • Is it Al Bowlly who sings this song?

  • this film is perfect in every way!

  • i laughed to hard at the guy who was stalking the other waitress. =D

  • Yes, he thought he had women all figured out, didn't he?

  • lol, i loved his squinchy face.

  • this is one of the most beautiful scenes ever!

  • I agree! If you have not seen this movie, well, you must find it and watch it. The entire movie is just as beautifully done. (Check the "Amelie Finds the Treasure, has dazzling idea" clip I posted).

  • A writer who is going to be born who speaks with his words... Simply... He says you : thank you for this video !

  • C'est ne rien!

  • One day, when I will be in life... I will whisper you : "Thank you"

  • Eh?

  • Haha! Excellent!
