You are wrong in two aspects.
1: The Qur'an is NOT the word of Prophet Muhammad(peace and blessings of G-d be upon him). It is the
word of G-d.
2: You can't look at the translation of a word and assume it is correct. Look at the Arabic, the original
language the Qur'an was revealed in. The word in the context it's in does NOT mean to beat the woman.
It means if your spouse is in the wrong you should distance yourself from them.

And that's part of what I meant by saying there are not too many black men like him today. If you know how to uplift and talk to us, then maybe we would have your back more (altough I believe we never stopped having your back). And the women who do are the ones who have made poor choices in men and need to take responsibility for their part in that, or women have been disrespected by our men. @3825cortland Society/Media puts more value in hollywood, entertainers, reality shows, etc rather than important issues. Honestly thats not even just a black issue. Everywhere you turn you here about a celebrity did this or that...and so on. I bet if you ask other American's about their history or you check their tweets or fbook stats you see a lot of them are not talking about historical figures, you will find some here and there. So thats not just a black woman issue.

But I doubt majority single mothers dreamed of raising their kids on their own. Black familys and marriage rates are the lowest out of any ethnic group, and without a father around kids become criminals. That single fact is the reason that there are so many black criminals, because there is no family in most of the homes.

i agree it is the perception that BW represent strength. I think another perception and with some truth to it,alot of BW dont respect or treat themselves properly. I also believe BM are so confused of who they are and their role in the world that they have mislead BW.The problems with BM and BW are for the most part inter-related.I think historically BW have had to be strong to survive and BM historically felt they werent man enuff to be leader of the household.now its hard to role-change.
