it would be nice if you always got what you bought. i know the HR motors in the Z's are quick, but arnt they in the newer ones (04-up)? if so, you can compare to the 4g eclipse GT which is cheaper and can run low 14's all day bone stock. glad you got my point tho.
@333hpinline6 i guess it all depends on the driver.. some Eclipse owners need to know there place. new GTS were around 23K. I was just expecting more out of the Z cause its over $10K more. I think people need to race in PRICE RANGE, not in cylinders. i.e. - my 04 GTS w/ 44K miles was 9 grand. my buddies 06 WRX STI was 16 grand and it has 70K miles. If i put 6K into my car id keep up. ( would never, id just buy a crotch rocket than race him) see my point?

no, you should change that question... it should be 'question is, will you spend the money repairing your eclipse every 10k miles?' those 7 bolt motors are garbage, the 6 bolt is a little better, but still unreliable.

yeah many people dont like the 3g because they dont come stock turbo or awd. but if you think about it neither does the honda civic si but people love the crap out of them. people dig the galant and it has the same engine as the 3g. but..if its in a 3g they talk crap...why is that man u got any idea?
yea, my first comment for some reason i was thinking the 3g was a 2g lol if you know what i mean. to be honest i would take a 3G over any other eclipse. im not a fan of turbo, i had a 91 GSX, it was fun for a while but i ended up trading it for an ae86 so i could get my old RX-7 back because i liked the feeling of an N/A FR. but now i got my Z and im happy haha.
i like the 350z but i love the 3g eclipse more. =D i understand the 3g is expensive to mod but its worth it to me. you ever see the wide body kit on the 350z in the fast and furious tokyo drift movie? the wide fender flares would look sick on a 3g dont you think?
yea, everybody has their own preference. i myself have always been into the japanese sports cars from the early 90's and older, its one reason i like the Z, it kept the iconic shape of the older generations but made it a modern car, its everything i could ask for. imo i think widebody fender flares look amazing on most cars granted they dont clash with the bumpers and side skirts, sometimes they look rediculous haha
theres a wide body kit for the 3g eclipse made by vfiber called vader but the front bumper and the fender flare add ons look nasty. it has the wide fenders like the fairlady nissan 350z but the gill like lines going from the rear fender to the doors make it look ugly. ive thought about getting the wide body kit and just getting the local body shop to modify it so its just the fender flares and the side skirts. the whole kit is like $600
im pretty sure a 350z is going to win that race i want a 3g eclipse too but lets be realistic 3.5l v-6 vs 3.0 v-6 i would hope nissan is not that garbage
Eclipses aren't super fast cars. They are quick though

the 6g72 sohc engine in the 3g eclipse is more reliable than the engine in the older eclipse i can promise you that

yes i do. the 350z is 0-60 in 5 sec and the eclipse manual does 0-60 in 7 sec it should have kept up for the most part
