Is that actually producing any of its own sound acoustically, or is it all electronic? I don't see any controls on it, how do you control the sounds produced?

The acoustic instrument has no controls, but it can be picked (underwater hydrophone pickup) and sent through a computer system to do extra instruments. It's up to the computer programmer to add the extra instruments which can be played out of computer speakers nearby. If you're in San Diego, drop by our exhibit at SIGGRAPH where we've got a hyperacoustic instrument setup there with computer speakers.
