They do sound similar vocally but they are too different people lyrically. If you really listened to the Weeknd lyrics,you would see that. This dude portrays himself to be the hurt and insecure,while Abel is the opposite. He drugs up girls just to fuck them, and is typically darker, more asshole-ish in his songs. Of course he has his songs where he is weak and he wants love and attention, but his darker side is more prevalent imo. Dont be so quick to judge.
