Thanks. What a nice way to easily understand the process of homeopathy. Im still unsure if it can help or not, but at least this video just gave the facts and didnt try to sway either direction
In the week that doctors have described homeopathy as ‘nonsense on stilts’, a Nobel prize-winning scientist has made a discovery about the nature of water that suggests the therapy does have a scientific basis. Professor Luc Montagnier, a French virologist who won the Nobel prize for discovering a link between HIV and AIDS, has shocked fellow Nobel prize-winners by telling them that water has a memory that continues even after many dilutions.
Thank you for this beautiful video SQUIRETRELAWNEY !
The best and deepest results in homeopathic cases are probably coming from MM and 10MM potencies. You think you can show the laymen within 11 minutes how a 10MM potency is produced ? Would be great if you can find the time for such a project!
@tyso7540 This is also the filter remember that approves those very medicines that kill thousands each year and those that are removed because they are too dangerous or found to be no better than placebo - yes orthodox medicine has drugs no better than placebo! When you say 'science' you mean chemistry.
I'm working in a compounding pharmacy and we received a request for a homeopathic remedy. Trouble is, nobody's ever done it before. Are there any good resources or official guidelines on how this is done?
I know for a fact that homeopathy has worked for me--both in acute health situations, and in chronic miasmatic conditions. Sorry to the folks who are so closed minded, they cannot fathom something so simple actually working, but it does.
LOTS of comments (some quite abusive) still coming about how homeopathy cannot work, from people who have done no research, just read the news papers etc.
I reiterate THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO DISCUSS THE MERITS OF HOMEOPATHY. That is better suited to a discussion forum environment, of which there are many on the internet.
Remedies are prepared by hand up to the 200c. After that it is done by machine. Some pharmacies use a machine all the way up from 3c. But yes it is very time consuming to do it by hand ( the traditional way)
The Lancet 1997 reviewed no fewer than 89 placebo-controlled homeopathy trials. It concluded that homeopathy was 2.45 times more likely to give a clinically beneficial result than placebo.
There are 200+ studies/clin trials evidencing for the benefits of homeopathy.
After using homeopathy for 11 years for serious, chronic and acute illnesses I can state unequivocably that it is the most wonderfully healing medicine I could ever have hoped for. The animals love it too--no more boils, itchy flea bites, infected cuts, etc.
I refer you to any of the many websites devoted to doing exactly that . Try Googling 'what doctors don't tell you' (WDDTY), 'Homeopathy worked for me', Lynn McTaggart (author) Louise Mclean (author), Zeus information service, etc. all of which have links to exactly the information you're looking for
Sorry you're wrong, there are definitely studies that prove that it is more than sophisticated placebo. Please try doing some real research before repeating media hearsay.
I use homeopathy not only for myself, but also for my pets & horses. It has saved me a lot of money in vet bills & a lot of pain when I broke my neck (I didn't need to take pain meds once I started a couple of remedies). I always keep a good stock of a large variety of remedies.
Canadian parliament is trying hard & fast to pass a bill (C-51) that will categorize homeopathy & all natural health products as drugs & illegal to possess except by prescription :(
I wonder how much time it takes to prepare much higher potencies like 1000C or more... I'm serious, who has the time to make all those medicines? Even with machines.
Dr. King - Fave and five, great little video! I have been getting the same aggravated responses to mine.
I believe it was Kent who said that you can't be a good homeopath and not believe in God, and likewise, I have found that the loudest opponents of homeopathy are atheists, and
the aggravated response seems to fit the Arsenicum picture of physical insecurity.
I have found it also helps to point out how rude they are acting and challenge them to try it out on plants.
As to aethiests v those that believe in God and their comments, I am not sure I can agree with you there; many dyed in the wool scientists have very strong beliefs/faiths.
In my experience the only thing that persuades people that homeopathy works is when they see it for their own eyes. So this is the simplest solution IMO, let people try it and make up their own minds based on the evidence they experience rather than what they just think/have heard
no reason other than it was easy to represent visually in an animation. Laziness may be one indication for considering sulphur as a remedy of course, so perhaps I was just being lazy ad needed sulphur myself!
yet more comments about how homeopathy is rutter rubbish etc from people who HAVE CLEARLY NOT STUDIED IT. How many times do I have to say it? If you only study ONE SIDE of an arguement then you are not giving a 'scientific' opinion, you are simply REITERATING BIGOTRY. OK you find it HARD to understand , but at least MAKE SOME EFFORT :-)
ps: Much has already been written on this and it has been discussed to death elsewhere in Forums much better suited to that sort of discussion than here, you may your answer there. Try a search on homeopathy groups in e.g yahoo groups. There is also a section on my website by physicist John Adam. Physics is over my head, I'm just a homeopath , I just cure people.
If I wish to make an amateur homeopathic remedy, however I'm concerned that the water would be 'polluted' by former substances that were once in it, seeing as all water was at one point in the ground. How can I be sure that the water I use is suitable for use in a homeopathic remedy?
Is there a way to un-homeo water? For example, to take a prepared homeopathic solution and turn it back into normal water? How do we know that the water coming out of our taps hasn't gone through this or a similar process already just by chance (for example, while flowing through a sewer system--yuck!)
This is known as 'succussion'. More or less won't create an inactive preparation, but there is a theory that more will stimulate a stronger response and fewer less. *40* was just the number that the founder of Homeopathy, Hahnemann, deemed a goodly amount. You'd probably have to read his old casebooks to find out more.
Homeopathy works on the pattern of "like cures like" this means the caffeine in a homeopathic sleeping agent will cure sleeplessness, because caffeine will inhibit sleep. Homeopathy can only cure as much of the root disorder as is present in the body. This means the amount of sleeplessness in your body can only be treated to the limit of being healthy. The seep aid won't suppress your breathing like western sleep aids, just eliminate your sleeplessness so you can sleep restfully.
Helios ios one parmacy that still does it by hand to the 200, others I am not sure about, but I do think there comes point where it becomes impractical to do it by hand , (e.g. the MM potency) especially with less requested remedies.
A simple process that's fortunately been done by machines these days, also for LM-potencies, K-potencies, etcetera.
In the Royal Ainsworths Homoeopathic Pharmacy in London it's possible to get MM-potencies, one million times triturated and dynamised like in your film.
The late John Henry Clarke wrote about the terrible things that happened to Constantine Hering in Suriname when he was trying to triturate the poison of the Bushmastersnake Lachesis.
Other countries may use the 'D' or 'DH' after the number. Occasionnaly you may see 'K' which designates the 'C' range produced by using the same test tube rather than using a new one each time, but emptied instead of adding one drop of the previous potency it is assumed that approx one drop remains attached to the glass after emptying. There is additionally the 'LM" range which is 1:50,000. Although any remedy can be made in any range if requested.
In the UK you will notice that there is either 'C' or 'X' after the potency e.g 6x or 6c. The 'X' designates that it was diluted 1:9 (10 total) and the 'C' that it was diluted 1:99 (100 total). Most remedies are the 'C' range, this is the norm. If not specified then it should be the 'C' range. The common exception is the 'Scheussler Tissue Salts' which are 6x. The 'X' range is not normally produced above 12x.
Hey ho folks - the very one sided comments keep on coming. Honestly guys listening to and quoting just one side of an arguement has a name, politely it is 'ignorance', ot so politely it is 'bigotry'. Either way I can only suggest that if you are SERIOUS about exploring BOTH sides of the arguement you need to LISTEN to BOTH sides. Otherwise you are simply parroting the ignorant and the bigots
I still am getting comments telling me how homeopathy has been debunked; please understand that that is a discussion of THEORY and OPINION only, but from very persuasive talkers. The fact is that homeopathy has been CLINICALLY proven. i.e. overall patient experience is completely at odds with the debunkers; and patient experience is often backed up by medical records - i.e. it proves IT WORKS ON PEOPLE ( not test tubes) - provided they have seen a competent and qualified homeopath.
I don't mind people arguing IF they are doing it intelligently. I should add a reminder that the principle of homeopathy is of using SIMILARS to cure. THAT is the principle that should be discussed; however the majority (99.99%) of posters get stuck on the question of dilution; an altogether different question and difficult,I understand for Chemists to comprehend. Quantum physicists, and those that can embrace concepts of resonance, on the other hand seem to have little problem with it.
Some people REALLY have not got the idea about homeopathy at all . PLEASE do try to understand a little about the subject you're commenting on before making statements that clearly show you have done no reading at all.
The comments on how homeopathy cannot work, is offensive, hokem etc keep coming in. I will happily allow thoughtful, intelligent posts but rants are pretty pointless. Whether one likes it or not, and whether one can understand it or not homeopathy does work. I and others have proved it over and over. If your thinking cannot encompass it, then just move on.
Several posters have also given their opinion on the efficacy of homeopthy which I have not allowed for two reasons: firstly this is not the best place for discussions on te efficacyy of homeopathy, it has been thorougly discussed elsewhere; secondly It is clear that they have not seen an experienced homeopath so have no idea what they are talking about.
My abilities at animation might be a joke, but no this is not a joke at all, it IS how a homeopathic remedy is prepared. Nothing difficult or mysterious about it. It's a very simple process.
