  • To a memory of somebody who flew in and out, to somebody I spoke to....

  • @connnielovely it's from 'Live at Sin-e'

  • @connnielovely it from 'Live at Sin-e'

  • Quel talent!

  • Je t'aime mon cheri Jeff, Je t'aime. Tu me manques, toujours. Je t'aime Edith Piaf aussi.

  • my personal favourite of mr buckley, i struggle with losing him, i only wonder what magnificence he would be treating us with if he were still with us, x

  • Can someone tell me what the french part he sings means? Thank you

  • He was the only man on earth able to cover songs like "Corpus Christi Carol" ( by Benjamin Britten ) or Nina Simone or Piaf just right here just as amazing as the original track. He was a wonderful man, I'm a huge fan of him really, I know his story, I listened everything, all of his songs "Sketches for my sweetheart the drunk" too, but I've never listened to this cover and I can say now : he's the greatest artist of all time, he's ALWAYS the best

  • @ArcticBuckley As far as I know he wrote this in Paris, at the Olympia shows, he was so amazed that everyone knew his lyrics, that he picked a french song and a poem of his own and mix them, "I don't know how it ends" is the name of the song, life is strange and we know how it ended,

    Thank you for your words!

    JJ

  • @jay33jay Yes but he dont really wrote it, cause this is from a French artist that every French guy know : Edith Piaf. This is so amazing that he did a version like that ! thanks !

  • Blackmanorigins. If there was an artist like him right now, I would consider him number one. Not only his tone quality in his voice is far above everyone but his control and fliexiblity and mimicry is superb. I admit I can not assess his musical instrumentalism but he did a good job in that department. And I would agree in that sense and in the sense that his ability to create songs may be bettered by other artists. But his talent was unique and that can not be matched by anyone, only Jeff can.

  • If you walk along the streets of Paris and softly sing this song, you can realize how wonderfully Jeff Buckley's interpretation fits! Ok, it has been written by a french singer, but I think that the american J.B. has really caught the spirit of this city. And made it in a wonderful way, as usual.

  • @gilbertoguastalla you are very right, he was very good at 'picking the spirit' of so many things. Such a unique and precious talent and person.

  • I love how I can listen to this followed immediately by Eternal Life and still hear the same fantastic voice.

  • omg, his voice ♥

  • why am i just hearing this song now?

  • @espejokm Because we still don't know the end of it, i guess...

"On n'en connait pas la fin"

    :)

  • jeff forever

  • If god actually existed, Jeff would've been his son.

  • I have the pleasure to own both version love JB

  • My mom loved Edith Piaf, so I've listened to her music since I can remember. It is rare for me to find someone who even knows who she is, much less to do this. Bravo Jeff Buckley. I agree with eldiran2's post above. My God, I would loved to have met, and been able to talk with Jeff Buckley. There are not many guys who understand my very diverse tastes in music. Somehow comforting to know that about him. I don't`feel`so`"weird"`anymore.`;)

  • @EmmaIsabelBB thank you for your words.

  • @EmmaIsabelBB there's a lot of wonderful young French musicians out there who love and make covers of Piaf and old French school masters. Sharks, BTW, I just recently discovered Guy Marchand (Nestor Burma), he rocks when he sings )

  • c, mon amour, a toi toujours.

  • Hey man, I was stoked to see you put this one up. I had the hardest time finding a decent quality of this song on youtube, and then saw yours. And the video works really well with the song, I really like it. Thanks. :D

  • Thank you! You know the story of this song, right? he sang this for the 1st time in Paris, he mixed a Piaf song with a poem of his own.

(ok, I was listen to this walking in Brussels, then grab the cam and start filming, so this is not Paris, as it should be!)

    Thank you for watching

  • I love this song! The lyrics inspire me love. I have the cd live à l'olympia and he sang this one. Thank you for the video!

  • Thank you, this is really a very fine song!

  • Je n'en connais pas la fin...I do not know the end. How sad. How beautiful. Have I heard this is a movie before?

  • this is a great song, right? so it's possible that you heard it in some movie, for sure!

    :)

  • this is a great video

  • Thank you!

    :)

  • I had never heard that one from Jeff Buckley. Thank you for this great gift :-)

  • oh, this is a great song, Buckley mixed an old french song with a poem of his own.

    So glad you like it

  • Very much so especially because I was born and raised in France. As a teenager I was listening to him a lot. Thanks again :-)

  • Jeff Buckley ALWAYS AND FOREVER!!!

  • YESSSSSSSSS!!!!

  • So perfect...magnifico! I have to buy this cd...Jeff Buckley is like no other...

  • What a cute song !

  • thank you!

  • What an artist!!!!!!!

  • :)

    :)

  • The most gorgeous and sensuous voice to emerge over the last 30 years. Jeff Buckley's talent - particularly that magical voice...could literally overwhelm its listeners into tears. I marvel at his gift whenever I happen upon anything that he's touched.

  • thank you so much

  • Jeff not only had a lovely talent, but was much more daring than any other artist of recent memory---image a GUY singing this French song?? Or "Lilac Wine" & "Corpus Christi" on an album including rock...? The guy had guts...and got away with it, because of his extraordinary talent....and he had that rare mix of soft and hard, masculine and feminine, which he was not ashamed to show and share with us...and THAT made him UNIQUE......

  • thank you for your words

  • @eldiran2 the best comment I have ever read about Jeff! a smile from Italy :)

  • @eldiran2 He had a beautiful high tenor voice that made the songs he covered possible and also very soothing compared to a typical tenor..

  • @eldiran2 Frankly, I just dont think he cared what other people thought - he did whatever he felt and that's why everything he did comes across so convincing.

  • @eldiran2 Sure i agree but there are still a LOT better artists than him :)

  • @blackmanorigins well thats just an opinion. i personally prefer elliott smith over buckley, however i can see why people adore him so much. he was truly an amazingly talented musician.

  • This is one of the most amazing songs by one of the most amazing men of one of the most amazing albums. In my heart Jeff Buckley will always be the greatest artists that ever lived because we never got to see or hear what comes next. Sure we have Sketchs for my sweatheart the drunk, but thats all they are...sketches. You will live forever in our hearts Jeff.

  • a true artist never finishes...he only abandons.

    cheers!

  • Yes, I know what you mean.

I don't mind about sketches he left., but the scratches stay forever, when that river took him away

  • how did I miss this man before now? stunned to just discover him last week and find i can't get enough; how tragic that there's such a small amount of his recordings available

if you haven't seen/heard "so real" - you MUST

it is one of the most awesome surreal pieces yet

  • for someone who only released 1 album, he actually left behind a shitload of recordings that have been leaked, bootleged, or released by his mother mary (even though some songs like strawberry street jeff never wanted released)

  • yes! But there are so many songs after "Grace"

  • <3 <3 <3 this song !

  • je n'en connais pas cette chanson, till now. now i know i just have to go tomorrow and buy the live at sin-e. Does it only happen to me that i really want to buy every Jeff Buckley album original even if i've already downloaded?

  • I really love his album Grace. I want to collect all his albums, like you!

  • Comment removed

  • live at sin-e' is mesmerizing, im not sure if i like that one or grace better. both are tres bien

  • This song has been stuck in my head all day long. Walking around humming 'oh mon amourrrrrrr'!

Thanks for the nice video to accompany the song. I ADORE Jeff Buckley, and I would give anything to have him back among us.
