  • the vocals are a required taste. just like this rum im drinkin!

  • Awesome song!!!

  • Umbrella Corporation's symbol!

  • Oh come on, vocals aren't so bad...actually, i kinda like them. Cacophony (Becker + Friedman, yay!) is the one that should have been an instrumental group, the vocalist did ruin the songs for me...in their 2 albums :( At least Speed Metal Symphony is still good :)

  • So lucky to receive this for 15 bucks.. Amazing compositions.

  • I usally hate these kind of vocals but i dont know why in this album i fckin enjoy them soo much

  • nice song & lyrics

  • This album should have just been instrumental, or at least have a good vocalist on it. A good album ruined.

  • @GruesomeGertie

The vocals are the worst instrument in this album (typical heavy-thras of 80´s), but i think voices are necesary in this album, u can hear instrumental albums from the brothers Jarzombek in the projects; gordian knot and spastik inc.

  • 3:05 is sick!

  • OMFG!!! I haven't heard this since I graduated from high school.... Thanx so much for the memories.... Still my favs, and I still have the tape...haha

  • This is the kind of album that doesn't need vocals

  • @Methrt3 Yeah but the vocals are great and so are the lyrics. So I think they aren't un-welcome ;)

  • @Methrt3 Jarzonbeck'ss done enough stuff without vocals

  • this is vey fusion.

  • I can only say a thing: tears of memories.

  • whoever doesnt like this, go listen to the singers next band. maybe dangerous toys is more up your alley.

  • @revenge112 Enlighten us, please. What is your self-proclaimed "good music"?

  • Watchtower weren't bad musicians....I had this one and other albums by them, but their vocals were seriously annoying....always high, screeching non-melodic....

I much preferred intelligent prog metal like the Fates Warning of Ray Alder, with a singer who can actually SING, as opposed to scream all the time like the guy in Wachtower, and with a far more enjoyable type of well put together songwriting, as opposed to random scales which make no musical sense whatsoever .

  • @vampiroangelico they make perfect sense to me. maybe you just don't really know fuck all about how music is put together.

  • @lilrighton Actually, judging by your ignorant and bully comment, it seems you're the one with no knowledge. Insulting and belittling those you disagree with, does not prove your point.

  • @vampiroangelico insulted you how? excuse me for being skeptical of your knowledge of music and the theory behind it.

  • @lilrighton "fuck all" isn't how educated people express their opinions. My knowledge in music is a mixture of classical music, jazz school (for guitar specifically), heavy metal progressive techniques for lead guitar, I play currently in 3 bands, and my influences are Pink Floyd, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Bill Connors, Gary Moore, Steve Vai, Marillion, U2, The Cure, Saosin, Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Rush, Enchant, Yes, Genesis, italian prog, Pendragon, The Eagles, Greg Howe. I love variety.

  • @vampiroangelico dude you only got 4 good influences...

  • @vampiroangelico Watchtower isn't for everyone, they're weird but it does make sense. The vocals are an acquired taste too, but they're still good, and that's coming from a huge Fates Warning fan.

  • @shreddeth7 I think we can agree to disagree.

You like Watchtower, and I did say they were good musicians, but I like more melodic and intelligently put together songwriting.

    I completely respect your opinion.

    :-)

  • @vampiroangelico Music got to be original, is almost an offence that a prick like u say crap about the singin of that guy . On music is important to have an unique style and i have listen lots of metal by years and beliveme no one sounds like Watchtower. You want a FATES WARNING 2?? go fuck yoursel ... Watchtower genius 2 great albums that leave us behind.

  • @vampiroangelico Random? Maybe to your ears it seems that way, but that's not the case with me and certainly other people. It's just combinations that you are not accustomed to. And no, it does make musical sense, in the broadest sense of combining sounds together, no matter how complex. There is a pattern, and the music is no less intelligent, really.

I can understand your dislike of the vocals, though. Not the greatest of it's style (like Halford, Dio, Dickinson, etc.).

  • 5:20 to 5:32---KILLING.

  • Brought me to tears of joy, i will never get tired of this sick album

  • So ahead of their time...

  • the sound of true progressive!!!

  • I remember these guys well, years about 87'-89'... back then annoyed people because of there constant tempo changes, we couldnt get enough. When I was in the Air Force stationed SW Oklahoma a small group of us visited Dallas area every free weekend, also saw early Pantera almost monthly back then as well... good times!!!!

  • @shoesvette

  • @shoesvette Damn you... twice!!

  • SO FUCKING UNDERRATED UGHHHH

  • SO friggin GREAT!!!!!!!!

    Joey Lodes

  • I love this band and anything Ron/Bobby Jarzombek related. Watchtower make me think of Fates Warning with more balls.

  • @supmayne1

thank you for the smile you gave me while reading your comment :)

I love both...... Watchtower and Mozart.Music that comes from the inner self is always a pleasure and a gift to listen to!Everyone that listen with his/her heart will understand.

  • @steel18 Words can not describe how amazing this album is. Top 5 for sure.

  • does anyone here actually saw them live back in those days and know for a fact that they can pull that shit off on stage??? because it seems humanly impossible, unless they were a jazz fusion quartet disguised as metalheads

  • @cherryorchards

I will be checking out the live recording posted by heavymetal1983 now (just noticed it to the right).

  • @cherryorchards Yes.. I was blessed enough to see them in NY many years ago.. Even more amazing live.. As tight as a band could possibly be..

  • Truly unique metal. I really sense what makes this band and album "progressive".

  • The most underatted prog band ever. Simple

  • Wow. Haven't listened to this for years. Thanks for posting, reminds me to dig out the LP. Amazing band.

  • Amazing song

  • fuckin love the harmony 3:10...

  • sounds a lot like toxik

  • kinda reminds me of mercyful fate

  • holy shittttttt......this song put me into a chokehold, and just completely mutilated my body, but not after it kicked my ass into next tuesday and the following weekend

  • @skateNappreciate DUDE AWESOME. I THINK MY HEAD JUST POPPED.

  • @skateNappreciate That was awesome.

  • @skateNappreciate how is this the highest rated comment on here???

  • Their rhythms remind me of older Voivod.

  • Wow! Now that's some serious falsetto!

  • Oh man, that's nothing. Listen to Crimson Glory or Sanctuary.

  • Throw in Toxik and Realm from the thrash perspective while you're at it.

  • Which comment are you replying to?

  • This is fucking sick
