@lumpjacket1 Yes! the brilliant XL1 and the OK Heaven and the Sea. Which was a bit melancholy for me but did have a great sleeve that animated as you pulled the see through cover away from the card inner..
I bought this E.P for 10p from a second hand record shop in Camden Town in the early 80's. The E.P also comes with the track 'Boredom', one of my favorite Buzzcocks songs.
good to see some early footage with howard fronting, im proud to say that i grew up in this special era & saw most of the punk bands & the buzzcocks were always my favorite
The video comes from a Buzzcocks 'reunion' with Howie Devoto... the 'soundtrack' from Spiral Scratch... a now mythical E.P. by early Buzzcocks line-up.
the lead singer on this is Howard Devoto. But as far as i know he was only recorded with them on the Spiral Scratch EP, and after that Pete Shelley took over as vocalist. Howard Devoto went on to form Magazine (another great band!- check out "The LIght Pours Out of Me" and "Permafrost") and then a solo career with a hit song (Rainy Season).
Pete Shelley is the one on the right dancing around in the white sleeveless top, although I admit it doesn't look much like him because he is so skinny (1976), but it's definitely him. I guess that when he took over vocals his dancing stopped.
yeah. we still have the vinyl as well as Pete's first solo album..was there another?

SPIRAL SCRATCH! I paid like $25 for that, for 5 songs, lol. I bought it around 1989. Worth it!

I recognize Steve Diggle on bass, but was Pete Shelley in the band at this time?
