@madgolem Well, I suppose it depends on the hit. This song was great for a while, but ... well, I grew out of that space, and I kinda want to move on. But, ya know, when fans want it, I play it, because without them, there'd be no point, ya know?
Thanks. :) We've certainly ruled the world ever since Emperor Gates took over the world of computing. ;-)
This song has been staying in my head since I first heard it.. The lyrics tells a story (and I appreciate it very much). When I watch Eben and Allison, I almost feel the atmosfere at Lestatś Coffee House, although I have never been there...
@LizBeth941 You are quite welcome, and thank you very much for your comment. I'm so glad you like the song. Lestat's is a great venue, so if you're ever in San Diego, you should try to come by and check it out, no matter who's playing.
@ebenbrooks You are welcome... This song should be as famous as Hey There Cthulhu, they both are quite good :) I am from Central Europe and I don´t think I will ever get to the western USA... Itś a pity, because I would quite fancy seeing your show in San Diego.
@LizBeth941 Well, even a trip to Germany is a ways off yet, but if we ever do manage to make it to Europe, I'm sure we can arrange to come to some of the Eastern areas. I'd love to play in Prague, for one.
@ebenbrooks What a coincidence! I come from Prague; itś quite beautiful... It takes me about 20 minutes to get to the Old Town. Actually, I go there often, because I love walking through the city centre :) I think you would enjoy having a concert here...
hey, i know this might sound weird, but i would really like it if i had your permission to use your song for a practice song for my band. It reminds me of someone i knew.....she died a couple years ago. She is actually the one who got me started on music. Her voice made me cry everytime i heard her and her guitar playing made me want to learn. The funny thing is, i heard her sing at a karoke at a hotel and she broke two of her strings and asked for my friends lol. so plz accept my request.
@terrycherryvoberry I would be honored. Even if you want to perform it at shows, I'd be happy for you to do that, just as long as you give credit. It's a great story, thanks for sharing it with me. It's funny how someone can touch our lives and change its direction like that, isn't it? I don't think I'd be a musician today were it not for Allison, the woman that this song was written for.
@ebenbrooks ...i appreciate it. when you sing it everytime i listen to it, reminds me of that day and everything i think it's extravegent that another artist would actually say that to me. i figured you would say no. that's what i get for figuring i guess lol. but if there is any way possible that you could give me the cords so i can present it to my lead guitarist and is it ok if we add drums, dont worry im not going to turn it into metal and yes we will give you all the credit :) thank you
Well, I know you said that you've played it so much that you no longer enjoy this song, but it never seems to get old from the listener standpoint. I think we have all had experiences like this in which we meet someone that shakes our very core and makes us second guess all that we once thought was true. So... I know you are tired of the song, but I just want to say that I love it.
@Dreznin Thank you, very much. I've actually started playing it more often of late, because it's been a while since I performed it regularly. I'm glad you enjoy it. :D
Thank you. I almost did give up on music when I met someone vastly more talented than myself. But instead of giving up, I wrote this song. ;-) So I'm still in the game! :D
Could you send me the music or tell me where to find it? I would love to learn how to play your music if it's ok with you.

@ebenbrooks having a hit sucks, everybody wants to hear it, and then all the groupies, the fame and so on yeah thats realy sucks :)))
Ps: Geeks rule the world. If you ever survived the dungeon of doom and death and running a level 120 master mage no one can stop you:)))

But you said that you were really busy, weren't you?... So you might not get to Europe soon. However, I am looking forward to it :)

@LizBeth941 No, it probably won't happen soon, but I'm definitely hoping it does happen eventually. I'll keep everyone posted. ;-)

@ebenbrooks So, if you plan a concert in Prague, let me know, I would like to reserve the tickets in advance :)

@LizBeth941 Well, I seem to have a growing following in Germany, so if I ever do a tour there, maybe you could come to see that. ;-)
ebenbrooks 1 year ago
@ebenbrooks I would be able to come only if you visited some place on the east... In another case, the transport would take too much time... Damn it.

@terrycherryvoberry I sure will. Message me with your e-mail address, and I'll send you a PDF of the chord sheet I use with my band.
If you do perform it and get video, please post! I'd love to see your rendition. :D

I was wondering - who is the woman with you in these videos? And does she join you on your studio work as well?
SongwindGlobal 3 years ago
The woman is Allison Lonsdale, and she has her own channel here. Do a search for "AllisonLonsdale".
She does some back-up vocals for me on my second album, Mirrors, which you can order from my website (link in the description).

I know people who told me almost exactly the experience reported in your song.
But there's a saying:
Use your gifts ! If only the most talented birds sang, the forest would be silent.

Obviously ;-) And you're spreading messages that I can support from the bottom of my heart - let's save the world !
jemflower 3 years ago
I'm with you. I have had those same experiences, but mananged to find enough potential in my words or pictures to keep striving after it.
All hail bloody-mindedness. :)

I would call it "sheer cussedness", myself, but that works too. ;-)
