Being an ex-Metallica fan and a now-Pink Floyd fan (don't ask me how that happened, still trying to figure out) my #1 is ofcourse comfortably numb. Maybe stairway to heaven tops it, but that's up to you guys to decide.
Metallica on this list... Yeah, possibly songs like Fade to black (?) but then again most songs here are rock, so metallica wouldn't really stick to this. Note that ozzy only got here for a ballad (and a damn renowned one) and still didn't make the top 10. Jimi Hendrix is awesome
Also should have added the solo to paranoid, or war pigs, maybe iron man, and should have also added the solo from slash in velvet revolvers one song, damnit I forgot the name of it-.-
What stumps me is that whenever Metallica even gets on these lists, it's always 'One' that gets on here. It's a good solo, no doubt, but to be honest it's probably 'The Shortest Straw' or 'To Live is To Die' (The chill one at about 5:52) which is the most musically accomplished.
@swamdono One is just shred, over-rated solo. Blackened, Creeping Death, Fade to Black, Nothing Else Matters is so short and sweet. This list could go on and on. All of the previous really do put some of this list to shame.
i personally think solos like comfortably numb suck lol i mean its cool if u put alot of emotion into your solo but i really dont care if u played a solo looking like a robot or with emotion as long as it sounds cool lol like to me sweet child o mine is a billion times better than november rain lol but its just my opinion lol
Nice choice, but I still prefer Stairway to Heaven. It makes my happy, it makes me feel like I'm an awesome guitarist and want from me to buy the most expensive Gibson Les Paul (money isn't a problem - we don't have a money).
Eruption is NOT a guitar solo. It's fretboard wanking, nothing else. And Steve Vai is a fast guitar player, but that doesn't automatically make him a good guitar player. Fast ≠ good. Feelings = good! If the music doesn't make you feel anything, you can replace the musician by a computer.
Pink Fuckin FLOYD! I mean I respect your opinion and that guitar solo is top 3 easy. But, a Zeppelin Solo was #1. Maybe not Stairway but Heartbreaker, Communication breakdown, Rock and Roll or Since I've Been Loving You. Still great list! =D
imo" mr crowley is the greatest black sabbath song because i love every instrumet in the song and i love the lyrics....but then again i love every fucking sabbath song thats just my most listened to
come on? layla??? i mean, clapton and allman were incredible guitarists but that solo was more like the two of them screeching over a piano. some of those notes are painful
@DracoMasterXD Stairway to heaven blows led zeppelin's other songs out of the water. Its an amazing solo that isnt based on speed. He basically speaks through his guitar.
@AdamKuc90 Slash's and Gilmour's solos should be like in the top 7. And comfortably numb second solo is way better than the first one. The one in the vid is the first '-'.
@themoroniccow yes the devil number do you know that its lyric were wrote by aliestrer crowlew father ? and he was specialist in backward lyrics and stanic things ?als o he was inspired by an unknow personality in 1554 :o
youve forgotton one of the the best and thats a mr jeff beck if youve ever heard him do amazing grace on the guitar you would totally change your toon
Stairway 2 hvn is the best why you dony fucking understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! zoso & the other secrets!!!!!!!damn you dont know anything about solos !!!!! fuck off
You do not understand a sledgehammer guitar, cose'non you going down 'that Mr. David Gilmour It is the guitarist who has performed solos most' beautiful last millennium and for your misfortune and confortably Numb 'solo most' beautiful of all time, or do you like it or not.
Pink Floyd Money, Metallica fade to black, Led Zeppelin Whole Lotta Love, Judas Priest Painkiller, just off the top of my head. You're really underrepresenting metal here.
Very cool, and very educational, except for a few points in my opinion: I would still put that old nugget Stairway at number 1. Also Steve Hackett MUST be included. His first 4 albums have solos that blow anyone away. Also Phil Keaggy, one of the best players on the planet. Check out Glass Harps "Never Is A Long Time" to have your head blown apart from the 70's.
Rofl, there are a lot of unkown bands out there that have epic solos, and I expected to see more noobish solos, but you have a nice taste :B
Also, I LOL when people ask for those ubber bands and dont care about non popular guitarists. You guys should listen to bands like UFO, or Boston, they sure have sexy solos.
