  • This song is like the heart of an onion, is the most spiritual of The Beach Boys. I have always wanted to mourn when I hear this song.

"These things are be until i die", the chorus shows great humility, I like it because it gives a 180 degree turn to the concept that at first had them, that is, as hedonistic, this one I like even more than Good Vibrations

  • My God....

  • This December 7 is the 25th anniversary of my mom's death and this song always grounds me.It is a reminder to me of how small we all are in the grand scheme of things.

  • My all time favorite song...!!! It's amazing that Brian wrote this during one of the worst periods of his life. This song has never failed to strike such an emotional chord in me beyond explanation. Anyone who feels it knows what I'm talking about. You don't just listen to it, you experience it!

  • @lakefloor

You are so right! Absolutely one of the most gorgeous songs ever written.

  • Without the truth, there can be no real morality, justice, equality, success, freedom, love, security, peace, spirituality or even survival. If you are seeking the truth, search "Truth Contest" in Google, then open The Present on the homepage and read what it says.

  • Probably the best Beach Boy's song post Pet Sounds/Smile (I count Surf's Up as part of Smile)

  • haunting and lovely...

  • why don't those media dipshits ever play this on the outmoded radio?

  • stunning.....

  • so depressive...

  • @liamourkidgallagher its just a song lol

I think its a great song although I do support the Beach Boys more fun type of music much more!

  • One of the pinnacles of human achievement, together with the song that follows it on the album.

  • @ashie259 what's the song that follows it?

  • @flux688 Surf's Up.

  • @ashie259 thanks!

  • ".......These things I'll be until I die."

This song leaves one grasping for words to actually describe it.

The only word that I could possibly write is....................Spiritual.
