Thanks to my dad I got CCR blood. He has played their songs my entire childhood, this song in particular is one of my favorites. Really nice heavy slowgoing sound, just like a train. :-)
This is my least favorite Creedence Song.... SAME RIFF FOR ALMOST 9 MINUTES. This must have been the first time in which Tom had questioned his loyalty to the band. Insanity.
CCR played a BIG part of the background music in Vietnam...they were right there by our side, helpin' us to cope...all I can say is THANKS FOR ALL THE GOOD MUSIC.
@shvetes ya relaxe is what u may do.. and thats ok.Me too even as I can remember fog pile up & how CHP and the "clean up" crew paramedics dealt with it.It was better in Cambodia but these guys.....never seen a person or body tossed from a stretcher like that to the ground.Ya someone is a witness to that.Oh it was 7 to 8 pm in '79, going to Corina from Chino.If....it was my loved one they would pay & hope they may read this.AND YES, always love Creedence!
Damn we got similar tastes in music ya got some great tracks by some of my favorite classic country artists as well. I adored Marty Robbins and he was such a sweet man.
i have this album, ive bought two copies, the first one was tore up but i thought it'd still be playable, no it was warped to hell, but made for nice wall decporation, then i finally find a second copy that is in great shape and im playing it now, this is one played lp
LIKE I SAID, SOUTHERN MEN ROCK. One of the coolest songs of all time. damn. white folk have soul, too. see Tony Jo White "Poke Salad Annie". TELL ME that ain't the sexiest white man voice you EVER heard. What I'm sayin.
this song could have used some serious group improv to fill out the middle section - would've been nice to hear the other guys jam out a little more than this and Chooglin' - make it less one dimensional
I'll bet 99% of you didn't know this song existed...so enjoy...even though it got cut from about 20 min to this 8:39 version. Originally it took the entire second side of a 33rpm side.
estos son mis favoritos desde los 69! yo les vailava a mis hermanitos cuando no teniamos comida ,estas canciones gracias a un prpimo que las trajo de estados unidos aprendan!!
Even with three single notes per instrument and a simple drumbeat they could take you and shake your soul...absolutely fantastic! CCR is one of my favourites!
damn...I was 13 years old when I hear for 1st time the song....I wanna be stone??? but it was me....just wanna dance to john fogerty " EL TREN DEL CEMENTERIO " COWTOWN OR FARYFAR ~~~
i'm probably weird because i only checked them out as they were mentioned in the movie; 'The Big Lebowski'. my dad likes the eagles .... I can't stand the Eagles.
My father loves this song and he was 2 years old when it came out, now he's 42 and I've liked this song since I was 12 now 18. It never loses its different beat and this is originality at its best.
That rhythm section is like the Grand Canyon, a deep groove that isn't going anywhere. It's just there, steady like a rock, not moving for anybody, solid and strong, while John's vocal/guitar storm blows all around overhead. Magnificent.
Yes we do,because the music was born in our time, and those lame songs my parens listen to became dead that moment I heard jailhouse rock for the first time.
just to reply to earlier. Brian Jones was never kicked out of the Stones, after all he was pretty much THE sound of the early Stones and by far the best musician of them. In fact he was found dead in his swimming pool during a party. He had been badly wrecked during the evening. For me the Stones were never as good after that.
I suggest you google ' brian jones kicked out of stones ' and see what comes up. Three weeks before he died, he was booted out. It was a HUGE story.I remember at the time, when hearing about his death I thought he must have killed himself out of despondency.
