  • would this do good on a SIG 516?

  • @MrGuitarboy777 sure, depending on how you want to use it

  • @ArmedCivilian556 as a tactical scope, more for home defense, not to keen on using a 5.56x45mm NATO for deer

  • @MrGuitarboy777 it will do fine in that role, anything really hard use, I'd look else where

  • Is there any other locking mech? I was liking this scope untill that quick release action. That's a nightmare waiting to happen if you have gear on and your getting in and out of vehicles.

  • @prplehrt17 So true - with things like that QD attachment you have to weight the good against the bad. You can also come up with your own mods to help locks this in, like a heavy duty rubber band , or a zip tie that you can slide over the arm and off, things like that, think outside the box. Nothing will help you with this like using the gear, experience is the only way you'll ever know this..

  • I have the 4x32 illuminated ncstar mark III on my ar ... Works awesome!

  • @ahailofgunfire very cool

  • good review. im very interest in this scope and debating on getting one for my spikes tactical. hows it holding up? is it staying zero'd? and does it have enough eye releif to not be mounted over the charging handle and not have the "fish bowl" inside the lense?

  • @Sacreppin916 thanks brother - yeah the scope is awesome for what it is & the $, The eye relief is good, no fish bowel effect, at least in mine and it has managed to stay zeroed, well for the most part. For the money this is an awesome value, there are other value options so makes sure you look around hard -

  • I`m looking to get my hands on a S&W M%P 15-22, I`m thinking of getting this scope for it, do you think its a good scope for that gun?

  • @mystycim Yes for this gun its an awesome scope

  • What size ring did u use for this scope to put the red dot on it. will a 34mm reflex site adapter ring fit it?

  • @LittileBillyG not sure I bought an adapter/riser that was sole as an extra with the scope. Sadly I don't have the scope any longer, sorry

  • im looking to spend up to 400 on a acog style scope, what do you think would be the best for that price? thanks.

  • @gascat100 in the same boat, can't afford an ACOG. I have been told for under $500, the Burris AR-332 is the best.

  • I have an agm l96 sniper rifle, would you recommend this scope?

  • now would you recommend this scope? im looking for a good acog that wont break the bank for my ar

  • @budgray18 Well it really depends what your expecting out of the scope, for an extra $150 you can jump why up in class but if $150/$200 is all you have to spend than this is a decent choice, however there are a number of new scopes on the market now that were not available when I did this video

  • agreed

  • have you noticed any problems with the crosshairs being offset within the scope itself?

  • @2010karatekid I have heard about it but have not run across this myself

  • you sir have a lisp

  • would it do good at 300yrds im tryin not to spend more than $170

  • would you recommend this scope for Ar 15 long distance

  • @andyjabben Well by long range if you mean 100yrds and your budget does not allow much than yes. This scope is a very decent scope for the price; however there are other scopes that are now on the market that offer a nice option for the money. The tube is somewhat small but for the money I can say that that I've been very happy with the scope and the proformance it has offered.

  • @ArmedCivilian556 Good review. Optics Planet has this scope for $99 + free shipping now (Dec 2011). Of the budget 3-9s, this seems to be one of the best.

  • How do you like having the reflex site mounted so high up?

  • @blurglide I don't, since the making of this video I changed back to a red dot, as my AR is now set as a primary CQB rifle. So I'm running a micro dot the TRS-25 from Bushnell. Running the red dot on top of the optic created a few training issues & I really just did not care for the issues, not to mention the added weight.

  • Great video man. I'd love to know how it holds a zero and how you like it now.

  • @cactusluck66 Thx brother, well so far the scope has held up surprisingly good, I’ve had “zero” issues with it. Considering it’s a low end NcStar scope I didn’t expect much, & after hundreds of rounds I’m very surprised as I have had “No” issues at all. It’s a solid scope; the QD lever attaches nicely, no wiggle. The dual lit redial, both red/green gives additional options for various lighting situations which is a plus & basically no issues with zeroing/keeping it zeroed. For what it's good

  • @ArmedCivilian556 Thanks so much! I found a smoking deal on the same set up you have here. I just placed my order and I must say that I'm excited for the $130 I just spent. I would have never even looked at this product if I hadn't watched your video. Keep up the good work and happy and safe shooting to you my friend.

  • @cactusluck66 Dude that is an awesome deal $130 for the entire setup, (scope + reflex sight), rocken. That’s what’s so cool about our U-tube “Guns&Gear” community were always helping each other out along the way.

  • I hear that on an AR 15, the front iron sight can get in the way of the cross hairs,Have you had any problems like that?

  • @338Mac Sure, if your going to run the standard front sight you’ll need to get a raiser mount for your optic and that will fix the issue 100%.

  • @ArmedCivilian556 Thanks! hopefully i wont have to raise it too much lol

  • @338Mac na but if your not planning to remove the standard front sight than a rising you will go ...

  • I just bought one, and you made it look like a good buy. Thanks great video!

  • Nice detailed review, and also nice watch.

  • @bulbmin2 thks brother

  • Your watch, jersey, and choice in scopes just screams POSSER!!!!!

  • @AKSKSMAN shows how much you know Ahole!!!!!! now run along

  • @AKSKSMAN

You even spelled "Poser" wrong, Poser.

  • can you please tell me what the MOA is? each click of windage is 1/4 MOA? but the elevation is maybe 1 MOA? i'm confused and i just ordered the same scope. thanks

  • Do you think it would hold up to high recoil? I'd like to put it on my 45/70.

  • @TheSherminator64 not sure about that, I'd contact the NcStar and see what the rating is.

  • mine fell apart, the switch that changes the light and color fell off after 3 rounds. Got that part fixed, now it wont hold zero after each round.

  • is there an adjustment that compensates for the weight of that HUGE watch?

  • @blinky23456 lolo that's a good one

  • what red dot is that? what brand or modeL?

  • @gilberto83 It’s a cheap NcStar one that came with the scope. The scope is a decent product and I’ve had no issues with it. The red dot on the other hand sucks, the screws that secure the base of the red dot to the rail stripped, but what do you expect. Some ‘lower value” products are well worth the money & turn out to be a decent to great product. Others turn out to be a nightmare so I’ve learned to stick with the somewhat higher end to higher end products

  • I have this scope mounted to my C93, and it works wonders.....

  • @Ghase031 very cool - has it keep a zero?

  • @ArmedCivilian556 Well yeah I have no problems with it.... 100+ yards made easy...lol

  • @Ghase031 very cool - yeah, I have had no issues with mine either, not bad for a lower end optic, I have used mine on my AR15 as well but its riding on the M&P 15/22 for now, and doing a great job.

  • the poor mans acog

    love this scope tho

  • @xxxragonxxx567 u got it!

  • hey have you used this scope? i was thinking bout getting one just becuase i just bought my ar and dont have alot of money for a crazy expensive optic .. just wanted to know how it works and if its good for the money

  • @jbrand3 I have used it and for the $ it’s a decedent optic, look around and compare other scopes before u buy, u might want to think about a red dot as well - it all goes as to how your setting up ur AR, if it’s a dedicated cqb than go with a red dot, if not you might want to look at something on the lines of a Leatherwood CMR 1x4 Illuminated Reticle Scope, very nice, it depends on how much money your looking to drop.

  • Liked the vid. I just bought the same one. I was wondering tho what red dot is that? I like the set up.

  • @coldbloodedhero9 not sure what you mean, the red dot on top of this NcStar scope?

  • damn. Hell of a watch

  • @mudbuggie90 you bet 1000meter watch it cost about 60x what the scoope did .....

  • dude is your watch big enough?

  • @mudbuggie90 you have no clue how times people same crap about the watch, its cool, its really a bad ass watch 1,000 meter divers watch, hell you can't even dive that deep without a sub, anyway its about the same weight as a fully loaded GI/PMag (1lb).

  • However, NcStar by NO means is my choice with all that’s going on with our economy I believe we can find an American made product in the same price range.

  • For the most part I absolutely agree with you they are cheap China crap. Some aren’t bad especially if you’re on a budget and at the gun shows you can talk the dealers’ way down in price, being that they bought them for a low price they can take a larger hit and still come out on top. When you’re faced with needing an optic and your only choice is NcStar or nothing well you do with what you have.

  • Just my opinion I have used and seen many people buy Ncstar products, and they are China crap,,, If people want the same cheap china made scopes BSA makes a lot better scopes for the same price range. the sellers of ncstar scopes at gun shows sell them because the seller gets them cheap. and people like the look of them. and thats why they buy them. I talked to a ncstar seller last week and told them the scopes were junk and he agreed with me.. He said he would never put them on his own guns..

  • Does the quick detatch mount hold zero if you take it off and put it back on?

  • @V8merc124 I havent checked for that, however there are several video's which state it does hold its zero after removing the scope from the rifle.

  • @V8merc124 I havent checked for that, however there are several video's which state it does hold its zero after removing the scope from the rifle. Yet some say that if you go from 3x to 4x it will not hold te zero. I'll try both out myself and post my findings

  • This is a reasonable scope for the price. It will not return to zero if you change the magnification after you have zeroed it at any given power. For example, if you zero the scope at 6X and then change to 9X the zero will change. When you move it back to 6X you will have to re-zero the scope. Also, on mine and one other that I know of, when the scope is mounted on the rifle the crosshairs are canted to the left.

  • @alabamaramma dude, the more I hear about other people's experiences with this scope the more I can say - never again - what's the use of having a scope that you constantly have to re-zero - image in a gun battle having the awesome of option of going from a 4x to 6x to 9x / but losing the zero kind of kills that option - not good. I have not tried that for myself but I'll be sure to give that a test, thanks.

  • hey i am going to get this scope and am curious if i need high or medium mounts?

  • @trekce9 well if your going to put it on a flat top AR with a standard front sight than you'll need a riser plate, the scope come with a quick release mount for your flat top, so if you have folding front sights just slap it on and your good to go. If your not sure ask the vender and let them know what type of rifle it's going on and what they suggest.

  • @trekce9 shot this on my friends AR, u dont need a riser. that has been my question too untill he bought this scope first. the front post is so close it blurs out and is fine. fyi i have nice rear flipups (MI lowpro) so if you have like magpuls i dont think itll clear those...

  • @JSwanny1030 Really, I'll have to try the scope on my AR without the riser plate and see what I get, but I do know that with the riser the scope works fantastic no issue what so ever, but thanks.

  • how far will that scope work

  • @GENODELMAROATL they say 500yrds or so, I'd say about 300 / 400yrds tops

  • It has really good eye relief and I really like this ,but it wont fit on my picatinny rails (RIS) ,but it fits good on a 20mm

  • I got it at the gun show - you can alos check on the web as I'm sure you can find it there.

  • i have the same scope and love it where did you gt ur red dot attachment?

  • I'll be honest I did not like this Scope and I’ll probably end up buying a deferent one. The Second time I took it out shooting on my AR-15 the recoil unsighted my scope to where it was a pain sighting it back in again. Also my Red/Green illumination dial broke off just from picking it up and setting it back down in between mags. I am now currently shopping around looking for a new scope.

  • @JacFrost404I don’t blame you – and NcStar products are like a hit and miss type deal – which sucks. I myself have outfitted my AR with a red dot for cqb type engagements. The NcStar MarkIII is not a bad scope for the cash and I myself have had great luck with mine. Try “Vortex” products there awesome, scopes/reflex sights low cost on the level approaching Aimpoint/EoTech.

  • I use the Mark 3 Tactical 2x7 variable magnification optic by NCStar on my AR and it yielded great results. In fact, I just put up a video review of mine today. Great video!

  • so the red dot comes with the scope, but not on the scope?

  • @SpdDemon69 when you but it online, in most cases the scope is sold by itself - "no red dot" however depending on the vendor you might get a package deal, so be sure you get the scope, red dot and the rail bracket for the red dot to be attached onto the scope.

  • @SpdDemon69 Here’s a sight that has everything as a package deal for a reasonable price and there good people. ar15.tv hope this helps

  • Do you think it will reach up to 400-500 yards? Please get back to me, Thank you

  • @xive1 WOW, that's a task, well I think the NcStar Ultimate 3x9x42 scope is a decent scope and its range is about 250/375yrds at best. I do think it might do the 400yrds however, I don't think your going to get a crystal clear sight picture, so if it does reach out to 400yrds the picture might be somewhat grainy.

  • Respond to this video.. Look into Vortex, or Nikon. Vortex has some very nice optics at reasonable prices’ as well as Nikon, but Nikon can get very expensive depending on what your looking at. Let me know if you need any other help. Oh don't rule out Eotech & Aimpoint with a 3x or better yet 5x magnifiers behind it.

  • @xive1 im not a sniper but i hit a target at 450 yards with my AR15 and a 4x Trijicon Acog. The scope here isnt half bad. I have very limited experience with NCStar sights and scopes but what i do have is complaint free.

  • @Dogsoldier22 Really, I don’t have any complaints with the NcStar Mark III tactical Scope itself as for all intensive purposes it works great. Its nice & clear, not like the Acog, but its very clear and performs well. I do not know how it would hold up in a combat environment or how it would hold up when dealing with water, hits & bangs & things of that nature, things the Acog would eat up so its Acog but for the money in my opinion its your getting a great tool for your AR.

  • @Dogsoldier22 Really, I don’t have any complaints with the NcStar Mark III tactical Scope itself as for all intensive purposes it works great, but it’s no Acog, ya know what I mean. I do not know how it would hold up in a combat environment; like water, dust, dirt things like that or how durable it is, but for the money, $130 to $150 it’s better than nothing. In my opinion it’s a decent scope that for most people will serve them well. What experience have you had with it & How has it worked 4 u?

  • @ArmedCivilian556 For combat purposes i feel it would hold up well. In my first tour to iraq i ordered an NCStar scope off a website and ive used it on occation for my AR15 and my paintball guns. Ive beat it around alittle and it holds up well. So far its kept its zero and it keep my AR15 accurate. As i have said i have no complaints about the scope and for the price id say its hard to beat. Its real good for casual shooting.

  • @Dogsoldier22 First, thank you for your sacrifice & service it really means a lot to American's like me & my family. Secondly, I knew the scope was decedent & I heard about soldiers ordering NcStar products for use in theater, but I really didn’t believe it. Guess I was wrong, but than again unless it an Eotech, Aimpoint or an Acog most people think its 2nd rate. I love the above mentioned but the price point is crazy. Like the Aimpoint H1 micro is about $700, that's a lot of peanuts.

  • @ArmedCivilian556 Its because of people like you i do this job for. Trijicon, Aimpoint and Eotech are the big names thats why they get recognized. Expensive doesnt always mean its the best on the market. i paid 70 dollars for the NC Star i have and its great. If i had to carry it into combat id have no problems in doing so.

  • @Dogsoldier22 dude keep on doing what your doing one day perhaps well meet up at the range and tare it up; its all good times God Bless

  • @ArmedCivilian556 lol. id like that. I got 4 handguns, AR15 and a Bolt action .22 that are beggign to be shot again.

  • lol...he said nuts.

  • Comment removed

  • @Envy972 Gun Show, it was a package deal as the scope is setup to have the red-dot sitting on top. If your looking to get a setup like mine let me know if I can help.

  • @ArmedCivilian556 Still liking your scope and red dot? I'm thinking or ordering the same setup.

  • Long Gun: CenterPoint 6-24x50mm

    Hand Gun: Leatherwood 1X30mm RDS

These scopes might not be the finest but I'm not selling my guns with them.

I'm still looking for a (non battery powered) n-v sight. Do you have any suggestions?

  • Thank you for this review!

It really helped me to choose my new scope

  • @tinitoysinatra very cool and thanks - so what scope are you going with??

  • Let us know how it holds up on an AK platform. A few corrections, the elevation cap and the battery cover cap are machined aluminum and also you can order the scope plus the rail mount plus the DDAB red dot all in one package it's called the Ultimate One Sight System.

Running this on a S&W M&P 15-22 and so far the scope has been great! Had an issue with the elevation adjustment for the red dot was stripped out, out of the box. I called NcStar today and they are sending me a new adjuster!

  • @brett248vista

Thats Awesome, NcStar is pretty good about backing their products with Good CS. Regarding the materials that the scope is crafted from, not sure if I said the battery & elevation caps were made from something other than aircraft aluminum? If I did my bad. Im aware that the entire scope including the battery & elevation caps are crafted from aircraft aluminum. Off hand did not know the sight was going by The Ultimate One Sight System, so thanks for that.

  • @ArmedCivilian556

Most likely not going to rock the scope on the AK, the recoil might be a bit much & this scope is a bit too pretty for my AK haha. Think Im going to just use it as a dedicated AR optic Im sure it will excel in this roll. How do you like the S&W M&P 15/22?

  • @ArmedCivilian556

Absolutely love it on the 15/22 so far! I haven't had a chance to get out any do any 100/200 yard shooting just indoor which limits me to 50 foot. But It kept super tight groups at 50.

  • @brett248vista

Go to photobucket search for user brett248vista then go into my range album and there is a target uploaded. Shot at 50' with the 3-9x42

  • @brett248vista Hey dude can't find the photos but I did go to your page and I checked out your vid on the NcStar scope.......Nice vid really liked it good job. Now if you could guide me to the photos it would be cool (haha)

  • I just finished zeroing my scope that i got for Christmas. Finally after the snow had melted sufficiently. I am sure of this: it will be very hard to miss anything from now.

  • You bet dude a scope makes all the difference... rock on....& putum in the bullseye

  • the ak dust cover rail most likely wont hold zero get the scope mount that mounts on the side of the ak

  • Nice Invicta Reserve Subaqua Venom! I have one too....and just bought the same scope. Awesome!

  • good deal, let me know how you make out at the range I'll do the same - peace
