i think we live in a day and age where black people have the same opportunitires as anyone else. maybe not in some places in the states, but as a canadian, i have yet to see any real racism in that people are refused opportunities. its almost opposite! the black students in my engineering program had much more leeway with professors because they were black! they are good friends of mine who would jokes about it and rub it in my face, lol!
