  • nice videos!! i really apreciate what you do Sr.!!!

  • Love your videos! Very informative! Thanx

  • So if I can't pick up country music on my radio then I should have my MAF sensor tested? Wait what?

  • Audio only out the right speaker, similar problem with your videos last year.

Thanks for posting, Duane. I always look forward to videos made by you guys.

  • @spelunkerd

    it's not a problem it's a monophonic microphone.

  • @michaelovitch I've got a single mic and when I replay and post, I get sound out of both speakers, which is not a problem. But for this video, wearing headsets means you only hear sound out of one ear. Can you offer any suggestion as to how Duane can get sound out of both sides? One of the clips in this video had the sound reversed to the opposite speaker, and he's posted some clips that are fine. Is this a processing problem, or is it a poor connection at the mic jack?

  • @spelunkerd

i've got a stereo system and stereo headphone too and i hear only the mike sounds (his voice) of this vid on the right side.

the others sounds in the vid are both sides.

that's mean his sound input is monophonic or the editing distribute the mike sound monophonic.

It's to him to choose during the editing to distribute on the two channels.

the poor mike connection is not a bad idea but doesn't seem to be the cause if like you wrote the sound is reversed in others vids.

  • @michaelovitch

it's certainly a mix/editing sound bad configuration because during the recording the sound is on an auxiliary input and certainly recognized like "auxiliary" by the editing software.

  • @michaelovitch

if you use your heaphones you can hear sound on the left side too but just a bit.

it looks like a balance problem only.

  • Thanks for posting.

  • how you explained this made it very easy to understand. Thanks As always Duane

  • no sound

  • I forgot to say THANKS Duane !

as always , one of the best mech. posts on the net.

  • yes,,hotwire MAF and vane AFM.

and 2 types of communication types, Analog and digital (PWM)

some Air meters have 6 wires or more

Power, ground, output, fuel pump cut out switch and air temperature.

The meter in most , have there own power supply that regulates the 12vdc to 5vdc inside.

2 tricks for a MAF, clean it, (maf cleaner by CRC) and when idling tap the sensor gently

and if the output glitches (scope) it is bad or if idle speed changes, bad.

each sub part in the MAF can fail. (retired)

  • Great video!

  • Great info. Always well explained.

  • That's the song i hear in my head whenever I've disappointed my wife. The door swings open and that's what i hear when i look at her eyes.

  • Welcome back, we missed you there for awhile!

  • nice video!! but just wondering why is audio only coming out of the right speaker?

  • @kevinf1990 same problem here on my mac

  • @kevinf1990

because he has a mike and it's a monophonic one.

  • nice!!!!!! what about t-map sensor based cars?

  • Ever since I watched this, I can only get Country stations to play on my radio.

  • Looking forward too part two.

  • should make the videos in stereo!

  • wow, this guy is smart. wish there we more mechanics like him. What we all could learn in a month from this guy.

  • knowledge is power!

  • So your saying that if I'm testing a maf...I should check it in hurtz and watch for a drop of current or a raise of current and also determine how long its applying the current to determine if the pcm is working and if so I should check the mag..to servitude it a has any resistants
