  • @purplebui That is a bit of a stupid observation sir, you are obviously a biggot.

  • @purplebui You won against the Germans? Shut up, dipshit.

  • I'm Neither Australian or NZ or US. However seeing this I get a feeling the Anzac would do a much better job if the war was actually handled by them. Here you may ask why; The short answer is, they were actually competently trained in jungle warfare. Hell even if not all of them were masters, most had extra practical knowledge of the bush the US troops lacked for the simple reason of no proper bush in the US. Seeing this I reckon the Anzac were far superior than the US when it comes to....

  • @Kao1987 ... fighting the VC on equal terms. It's merely a speculation but I feel the war could have turned out vastly different if the Anzac were the ones in command of the combined forces, and fully able to adapt the tactics of the entire Nato contingent, based on the situation and their own jungle warfare experience.

  • Thanks for was there and helped as The Republic of VietNam

"Do you Speak a my language"

  • australian ,canadian and american soldiers fought and died alongside each other in veitnam

  • @bobbert890 I'm pretty sure our Canadian brothers didn't make it for Vietnam.

    A pity.

  • the austrailians played a major part in the vietnam war i never knew about kudos to them. i salute them . they are good allies. kudos to austrailia.

  • @ss3cleric Thanks for the good feedback. It's great that you are able to use this material in your class. We have put up a new video for Remembrance Day too.

  • My Granddad fought there, Michael Jordan.

  • Thankyou for posting this is awesome. Im an Aussie living in the USA. Have been for 10 years..Whenever i speak to a Vietnam Vet (american) they always give praise about the Australian soldiers in Vietnam. I feel proud as an Australian for the courage the showed. My Grandfather fought in World War 2 and My great grandfather fought in the first world War.

  • Principal infantry weapon in use was the Belgian FN Self Loading Rifle. NCO's are seen carrying Owen guns, designed during WW2. These proved ineffective and in some footage, the American M-16 can be seen, even though that weapon was not officially part of their inventory. The Italian-designed 105mm howitzer seen @ 4:35 was unable to maintain high rates of fire without extensive maintenance and was replaced with the US piece of the same calibre.

  • The average age of Aussie soldiers in Vietnam was 20, in WW2 it was 28.

    Massive difference.

  • @OrthodoxDarwinist Thats because in WW2 Most Australian males where at war, some would lie to serve and as young as 12,14 up to ages of late 40's. In world wars Australia had one the highest percentage of its population at war.

  • @fpvshitsonhsv In fact, in WWI, Australia had a higher percentage of its male population at war than any other country. We actually bet out France, Germany, England et cetera.

  • @SKiiSMLIVE Except for New Zealand.

  • The footage of the soldiers offering medical help to the primitive villagers reminds me of German WWII propaganda films.

  • @drflynn73 like the whole deception of the public back home to make them think that they arent up to any mischief? or something else?

  • I served with The Seventh Battallion in South Vietnam, this a walk back in time for myself and my mates. Thanks for sharing this video.

  • Why Australian troops always wear hats instead of helmets in both Korean and Vietnam war?

  • @Hperman09 because why wear something that is extreamly heavy, blocks out most of your hearing and doesnt stop a bullet anyway?.

  • @Hperman09 because why wear something that is extreamly heavy, blocks out most of your hearing and doesnt stop a bullet anyway?.

  • @Hperman09 Helmets and vests in the high humidty of Vietnam weren't considered practical. The Australian infantry covered twice as much ground as the Americans. Sometimes helmets were required, usually around known mine field or booby trapped areas.

  • @Hperman09

    Because helmets are for pussies.

True story: the priest at my school was in the Vietnam war (and like all Vietnam vets was seriously messed up from it) and he describes how he was riding in one of those mechanized transports and the one in front of him got hit directly by a VC rocket. He ran up to help the wounded, but he said all that was left was various body parts and a leg. What happened in the rocket went into the transports and created a contained explosion within it....

  • Following the US army to war. What could go wrong.

  • @MendingMedia the american army were high alot of the time, sometimes even having music blaring. thus making the enemy go to them instead of it being the us go to them. seeing as this wasn't an Australian war, they had no intention of sticking close to the us; instead trying to keep afar, to lower deaths tolls of their own army. ofcourse to no offence to the us defences at all.

  • Oh the irony of the guy reading Everybody's - the Person on tyhe cover would be joining them 2 years later :-)

  • Thank you Film Australia for uploading entire films to YouTube. It makes them more accessible and they are easier to share.

  • another great upload thx

  • I've heard of the ANZAC, the Australia, New Zealand Army Corp, but I didn't know that they fought in Vietnam.

  • @Seattlecarnut Yes. Wherever the US Army goes Australia is sure to follow.

  • @FILMAUSTRALIA While I find it difficult to agree with our government for why we go to war, I have always, and will always honour our troops who are risking their lives for themselves and for their people.

  • @Seattlecarnut Yes, two different issues for sure.

  • @FILMAUSTRALIA Indeed. What can you do, eh?

  • @FILMAUSTRALIA LOL. So true.. More like blindly and obediently follow

  • @FILMAUSTRALIA really though, don't you find that a little scary.... Always in the back pocket of uncle sam..

  • @Seattlecarnut The Australian New Zealand Amry Corps only existed in the first world war, they have been two seperate armies ever since, since World War II Australia has considred America a greater ally than Britain and have been in every war America has been in in the past one hundred years.

  • @PrivateJoker17 Really? I didn't know that.

  • @Seattlecarnut

We honestly lost 500 regulars in nam and 2 SASR (no1 spec ops in the world :P ) and the 2 SASR died in a heli crash due to an instrment malfction, not one SASR was killed by the VC and try and find an ABC doco about the BATTLE of long tan , 2 NVA and a VC divison (4000) vs just under 200 aussies with NZ fire support

On TOP OF THAT the NVA commader in the doco says they called out SAS "phantoms of the jungle" , imagine that, your troops in nam shittin from VC, and VC shits from us

  • @stormlah The enemy strength at Long Tan has been debated since the battle, some estimates have been as low as 250 troops.

  • @stormlah My Dad fought with the Aussies as part of a small unit of Kiwis. The nva/vc used to call them the Grey ghosts as they were adept at moving through the bush quietly as some of the NZ bush where my old man and his mates would hunt deer and pigs is pretty much the same. They grew up with it.

  • @Seattlecarnut Look up the Battle of Long Tan, And also Kokokda

  • @Seattlecarnut we had the largest western force over there .second only to America

  • @creativechap

Listen, cocksucker. You had the largest death rate because your land mines used against your unsuspecting faggot soldiers.

  • @AlbanianTerminator go back to the your failed state of albania ,you Prick we are proud of the aussie solders and the viet's you slav fuck

  • @creativechap You are proud to be an Irish convict scumbag.
