I absolutely love Jimmy Wayne's voice and his songs. This is one of my favorites. It seems like such a nice guy. We saw him last year at a fair in Michigan - too bad he didn't sing longer. I listen to his last 2 CDs over and over!

i found out in november at a gutar pull he came to with jack ingram, crag morgan, and chris young that he wrote this song for his sister in 2003 when she called him crying because her exhusban found her and her teenage son and wont leave her alone. when he asked if he could do anything to help she told him no she just wishes he would stay gone. and he wrote that song with in a week after that. when it first played on the radio she was at work and hid in her car and called him to talk to him.

That is so messed up, but it is true sometimes. Its sad when someone hurts you and there's no way of going back again without knowing you'll hurt again by them so its easier and better to let them "stay gone." I really like Jimmy Wayne's songs. They are so good. :)

And so you're correct... His sister didn't want him back and it was just better for him to stay gone. He explained it at a concert.
